The problem with saying that the DWP should treat people with respect is that over the past 14 years the Tories have systematically stripped the entire structure of anybody with a trace of empathy or understanding and replaced them either with box tickers or the openly cold blooded and sadistic. As with Johnson purging anybody with any competence or ability from the Tory ranks and replacing them with hollow sycophants and yes men, the entire DWP is now as unfit for purpose and in need of a complete overhaul as the Tory party itself.

When I was young we'd not be encouraged to go onto sick benefits! Because we had the resources to help children gradually work their way up the ladder, we'd not be scared to speak our minds, or be made to feel ashamed of our history or of been white! So is there any wonder children are depressed with the state of society & the way a loud minority have been able to change everything that made the world go aroubd just fine, I'd say some ppl have taken their ideas on reality way to far, we've forgotten a majority/generation of children.

Yet we have the resources to help them who are coming into the town, just nothing for the locals children, who often come from families they could never afford to send their children to a university, or even just putting them through a driving test to get them on the road to help make life alittle easier & that's what these do-gooders have zero idea on when wanting immigration! Benefits are not for the wealthy or millionaires whom should their wheels fall off, need a safety net. Should they encounter any catostrophy, they will always be protected by their bank accounts so couldn't possibly relate to those whom fall to the very bottom of the pile.where there is no safety net. The wealthy will never have to rely on asking for help, they have access to private health care..don't have to suffer from NHS waiting lists and cuts to services because they can pay for immediate treatment. I love the fact that there is no doctor or qualified expert in mental health and chronic illness defending the most vulnerable in society (especially on debate shows, pushing the Tory nararive). Instead we have armchair judges who think they're qualified to judge. The most vulnerable will always be demonised and stigmatised. Saying mental health is any less of an illness than a physical illness is pure ignorance. A close friend if mine whom was hugely successful, took their own life to depression. They never required a financial safety net as were lucky enough to not fall into that category but kept going in order not to let others down. It is a silent illness like many chronic illnesses. We need more knindess and compassion, not sanctions and cruelty. Fix the NHS MR Sunak , cut waiting lists to services which are in gross decay and start respecting GP's medical opinions instead of passing the buck onto unqualified box tickers to suit your agenda.

I have a child with LD abd ASD. Many of the services I encounter think I should give up my job to care for my son (to basically do the things they cant afford to provide), but he get 549 a month (which should be going on things he needs like OT equipment we cant access, not bills) I could claim the pitiful carers allowance and get a casual part time job, but financially I would still come up very short and would face possible sanctions like many others on carers allowance have.
I'm sure the Tories are creaming their pants over the fact I am still working, but I am literally on the edge of a breakdown trying to keep all the plates spinning (I've had to appeal to get my son in a specialist school which has taken a year - his IQ is likely under 40!). I am utterly exhausted and resentful of this government. Being disabled or having a disabled child should not leave you with a choice of either poverty or poor mental health or exhaustion.

Unfortunately the Labour party is built on percentages. A certain percentage of coloured MPs, a certain percentage of gay MPs , a certain percentage of different religions and a certain percentage of women MPs rather than choosing the best people for the job.
I dont care if all the MPs are gay, black, women etc as long as they are the best people for the job and know what they are doing.

This seems to be conflating different aspects or circumstances. It also seems to be perpetuating a centralised instead of localised approach. Lastly, and possibly missed by some, it assumes these are the **only** answers to the symptoms instead of empirically proving root causes and **then** looking at all possible solutions for a given situation. Trying to give a one size fits all solution certainly does make it easy to lump people together and target them unfairly.

Pip and universal credit are two completely separate benifits universal credit would support me in helping with things like a land line and cheap deal with a phone provider plus some help into volunteering. You have to reinvent the pip system not to penalise what you can do even being housebound

It was the last Labour government that started putting the screw on the unemployed ,sick & disabled to start with . The Tory’s just carried on minding the fort ,& turning the screw a few more turns . The Labour actually reckon the universal credit system is a good idea because it puts most benefits under one system ,therefore ,making it easier to also cut them all off ,in one go . Labour MPS only paid lip service to protesting about UC , in the big debate in Parliament a few years back, barring a few petty details about the time it took claimants to receive their first payments ,they were pretty much all agreed on the new state credit loan system . Proof again that Labour & the Tories are two cheeks of the same arse , so I wouldn’t hold out for any Labour government coming to the salvation of the unemployed , sick or disabled ,as they played their role in starting & supporting what’s lead up to now .

Literally nothing you wrote here was true or accurate. What Labour have actually said:
“Let’s take away that fear and distrust which prevent so many from engaging with employment support and attempting a move into work."
“A Labour government would guarantee that people in this position who do move into employment with the help of employment support will be able to return to the benefits they were on without the need for another lengthy assessment process.”
When the Toried took away the £20 uplift after covid, Labour said this:
"We wouldn’t make the cut, we would then replace it with something better"
So save your "two cheeks of the same arse" crap for George "sheet stain" Gallaway. It doesn't wash here.

@@stopthetories Your chatting bullsh💩t Labour just like the rest ,will say anything to get into power . I have lived on the planet for over 70 years seen em all come & go . They all do the same , promise all kinds give you a few crumbs in one hand ,& devise more ways to take more back in the other ,whist feathering their own nests . I watched the debates on the Universal credit ,all Labour MP’s did was pay lip service & agreed it was all good & gravy in principle . It was also the last Labour government that started bringing in changes ,they created a two tier adult pay , & different two tier adult benefit system , when before even under the Tory’s it was the same rates for adults 18 years upwards . So your phoney so called Labour party for the workers bullsh💩t doesn’t wash here .I got no time for Galloway or any politician either .

@glynmellor6161 What Labour say & what they do will be different in power . They will do as the rest do ,give a few crumbs in one hand & devise more shifty ways to take back more in the other , whilst making sure they feather their own & cronies nests . It was Labour who introduced a two tier adult pay & benefit system making under 25 adults poorer than over 25 adults ,even though they buy their bread in the same shops . Then the have the brass neck to call themselves a Labour Party . Also. no point in quoting Galloway to me , I got no time for him either ,but he is correct to say Labour & the Tory’s are two cheeks of the same arse . He got that spot on .

Sorry I think you are wrong, stood with Labour for a long time, but no longer, under this new effectively far-right labour, there is little difference between the evil that just lost and the evil that just won.... Labour is no longer the labour it was but the opposite, disagree all you like, leaders that lie and cheat, backstab and cleanse their parties in order as has happened, is never a party you can trust... New labour changed the law to rob the Social care/N.I contributions under Brown, that effectively stole the money from all the emergency services and social care, Tories pursued the goal started by new labour (or effectively new tories) by privatising the NHS and hiding that by getting the NHS to hire private companies. Now this new government has effectively stated 'no return to the eu, free market or u-turns on what the tories started'.... it's like Trumpisum has taken over the Government and similar parties, where truth no longer matters so long as backhanders rule and the people suffer and you can get away with lies... the only truth I agree with (though I am loath to give him any credit) is from farage, that being the system is in serious need of an overhaul.... so lets start with no backhanders etc for anyone in government and jail for deceiving the people and parliament (forced to be honesty)
