You should minimum have a Windows Phone 8.1 build as upgrading WP8 to WP8.1 GDR1/GDR2 directly has failed so far even with removal cabs. Your best bet is to search for an updated FFU for your RM code in LumiaFirmware.com
Awesome work! Just updated my Lumia 830 to get it to where I can upgrade it to W10M! On another note I wonder if there's a script that can be made to automate some of these steps.

Error 0x80188302 means the package/s you are trying to install is already present in the device. In short, you already have GDR1 installed in your device.

Hi! Make sure you are using the latest iutool executable (2015) Also, go to Devices & Printers in Control panel and remove your device (Un-plug the phone first). Then re-connect to your PC and re-run the command.

I have no idea why you get this error because I can't track what you do :) If you think you did everything correctly, I recommend you to try in another PC.
One more tip: If removing the device via Devices & printers didn't work and you still get the same error; > Open device manager, expand "portable devices" > Right click and uninstall your device. > Dis-connect the device & connect again. > Re-run the command.
Hi! Error 0x80070057 means the command is incorrect. Btw, you meant Path instead of Patch? If so, you can enter any path in your PC which is where the Logs cabinet file will then save. Easiest would be to give the path to your Desktop or Root partition (C:)

From the looks of it, your PC is missing the .NET Core Runtime. That's because you have skipped/not followed Runtime Installation part in the preparations part of the video (02:23) This is why it says not to skip any steps. Download and install it and re-run the command, it will work.

Ah, sadly that is the reason. The device must have Windows Phone 8.1 for this update. Directly updating Windows Phone 8 to Windows phone 8.1 GDR1/GDR2 isn't working (At least by the tests)

Hi! Currently, our efforts for manual update from 8.0 to 8.1 are fruitless due to certain reasons. Only thing you can do is to flash an updated FFU from the same RM code as your device RM.
Sorry, I mis-read your error as "0x80070005" instead of "0x80070057" so don't mind what I said before. In your case, the problem is because of the wrong arguments hence a command error. Re-check the paths in your command as well as the syntax.
Hi! Sadly this is a little complicated error, it's about a certificate issue which means something is wrong with your current set-up in your phone. Try the updater after a hard reset or if that doesn't work even then, try a complete re-flash and then try the update. TIP: Both hard-reset and Re-flash deletes all the apps & data in your device so make sure to back them up if you try,
Currently, there is no working method to update WP8 to WP8.1 The workaround is to flash a FFU package with a higher OS version of a different product code but with the same RM. (If your device is lucky to have one)
You can try this update as it's canonical so have a chance of working to update WP8 to WP8.1 If it does not work, you can simply use Windows Device Recovery tool.

I have a Lumia 1020 too neither this method nor using the recovery tool works , seems like in 2023 it's not possible to update 1020s running on WP8.0 anymore .

@@w10mgroup thanks for the reply, I've tried one more time and it still isn't working, I forgot to mention my phone is still running version 8.0.10211.204 and when I see the update screen it says that the update was downloaded but the file couldn't be oppened (80188306),

The device must have Windows Phone 8.1 for this update.
Directly updating Windows Phone 8 to Windows phone 8.1 GDR1/GDR2 isn't working (At least by the tests)
@@w10mgroup do you have they cab files to upgrade to 8.1 first? I've been searching for a while and didn't find anything, not even to upgrade to the latest versión of 8.0
I can provide you the CABs but for several, it didn't work.
The best bet is to look for an updated FFU for your RM Model in Lumiafirmware.com

Currently, our efforts for manual update from 8.0 to 8.1 are fruitless due to certain reasons.
Only thing you can do is to flash an updated FFU from the same RM code as your device RM.

Sorry, I mis-read your error as "0x80070005" instead of "0x80070057" so don't mind what I said before.
In your case, the problem is because of the wrong arguments hence a command error.
Re-check the paths in your command as well as the syntax.

Sadly this is a little complicated error, it's about a certificate issue which means something is wrong with your current set-up in your phone.
Try the updater after a hard reset or if that doesn't work even then, try a complete re-flash and then try the update.
TIP: Both hard-reset and Re-flash deletes all the apps & data in your device so make sure to back them up if you try,

Currently, there is no working method to update WP8 to WP8.1
The workaround is to flash a FFU package with a higher OS version of a different product code but with the same RM.

You can try this update as it's canonical so have a chance of working to update WP8 to WP8.1
If it does not work, you can simply use Windows Device Recovery tool.

I have a Lumia 1020 too neither this method nor using the recovery tool works , seems like in 2023 it's not possible to update 1020s running on WP8.0 anymore .

My Update cannot be installed after unlock Bootloader and use Xapload_Unlocker_v2.0.0. Why can't I install updates after that?

i tried to restore bootloader but doesn`t work.
Bootloader has to be locked for the update to be installed.
Make sure you do that.
