you have mentioned 'AMP pages error' - these are not errors, no need to remove these. Its not error on google side, you are using a tool and its showing what's its supposed to do. You have different URL for same page based on a drop-down field and google is smart enough to detect this and just index one. use canonical properly.

hello, so it means that another page is choose as a canonical url. try to find out if the other page has the same content like this oen, if not then check in settings that if the forced canonical tag is applied. end of the day it's on google then which page it shoes to chose as canonical and index on search engine. Watch the video again and you will understand the issue. give more details so that i can investigate it further
This is a fantastic presentation. Let me ask, I have 7 different shoes to display and each has 5 different images showing various views. The descriptions are the same except for one place in the description where the color is mentioned. They have different SKUs. I am having this on WordPress and the reason for not using variation products is to be able to present the five different images for each. The title of the page reads Kamsy blazing shoe white, Kamsy blazing shoe red, etc. Am I likely to get flagged by Google for duplicate pages?
Hello Dear, thanks for the comment. So you do not need to worry about that in that case. Google understand how product variation works and if you are using product variations then there is no issue for the products. If you are adding separate product for different colors then it can be issue. Rest don't worry about it too much,it is totally normal.
the best thing would be to look at search console report and see which urls are showing there. Don't forget to check other search console video, i am sure they will surely help you with your website SEO.

If we leave those urls in there and they are no longer on our website, does it affect our other website ranking in a negative way?
Hello, So if those urls are not longer on website and you have not related urls then do not worry about it. Either request for removal or wait for few weeks upto few months and google will remove those from their database.

i have a lot of these "errors" in my GSC. It is too much work to fix them individually. Is it worth fixing ? Do they affect SEO negatively ?
Some are errors and some are not, for example if pages have no index tag and you want them to be indexed then you should fix them. if it is a duplicate error then improve the content. if it is redirect then it is a reporting , if proper redirects are set then nothing to worry about.
Check individual errors are see if they are errors or just reports about your website.
I have an issue with alternate pages having proper canonical tags that show 'amp' and 'noamp=mobile.' As you mentioned, it is okay because I use an amp plugin, so there's nothing to be done about that. However, the total number of pages with alternate page canonicals is 34K, but I can only see 1K in the search console. Why is that?
so it seems you might have pages listed outside your sitemap. Check if the pages are there - generate by plugins, orders, data strings etc. 1 am sure 34k pages are the pages with the next pages numbers, variations etc. Watch other videos on series to understand the whole concept about the indexing and management of the pages. there are 5-6 videos but after watching all your queries will be resolved.

Hello, so you need to see where they are coming from. Seems they are some version management of pages. Try to find the plugin/ theme is creating those and disable them from there . hit on the cause of the issue to have right solution.

hello, so depends what kind of pages are those. if they are content pages and needs to eb indexed then we need to see that why it is sayign duplicate. if there are some pages which should not be included like theme code pages or non essential urls then if is good to disallow then. that will be save your crawl budget. Rest if the pages are not important then you can always ignore those pages!

Hello Dear, happy to help. So if you have 2 pages with different content then check which is the google chosen canonical for the pages, if those pages are both on your website and content is different then you can use request indexing option to tell google that it is a faux detect. Also check if the canonical tag of one page is not making the canonical to the other pages, they should have the self canonical tag in both of the pages.
Hi there I 301 redirected my default wp site page to a new page I just created. the new page has its own canonical url and did rank on google for a few weeks but now it has the alternative page error. I don't have any errors relating to the urls in the video. Should I just submit for indexing again? I don't want to ignore it because my page is not ranking at all now.

hello dear, You don't necessarily solve that, since if google search console detect that you have structured data then it will show there but only to certain structured data. Those structured data that are usually detected on on Rich Result test.
If you want enhancements to show, maybe you should try implementing structured date on your website.

What about in case of using hreflang? Google won't index the page with for eg en_gb version of the same product page..what can be done in this situation? Hello, okay so I can understand that it can be very complicated. but google is right at it's logic. Why the url's are same? I know most of the websites make a page for example /contact/ in english and /de/contact/ for dutch. What I think it should be done.
1) Change the translation page url to the local language for example de/kontakt/
2) Add the local title and meta description different from the other translation and try to make it unique.
3) Ensure that the content on your language pages is unique and substantially different. Avoid duplicating large blocks of content across multiple versions. Each language or regional page should provide unique and relevant information.
Try to make the different language page as unique as possible. Use a different image, heading . more of less headings.

We want our products to be shown in other countries and hreflang tag helps with that hence we implemented TranslatePress. Any insight on this?
did you tried testing the url dierctly and live status, sometimes pages are indexed but shows not indexed. It is really hard to give you exact info without seesin all the backend and pages.
What is amp? How do I know If I have or have not used amp? I have over 2k indexing issues.
Amp is accelerated mobile pages, if you are using an amp plugin then you might have this issue with amp, if not then there is nothing to worry about amp. How long does it take to take effect once you disallow the pages? I have done it few days ago and still have over 4k errors. All pages i am trying to disallow have something like ?pr_prod_strat and they are duplicates created as of result of the variants i suppose. Do you know why haven't the errors cleared?
Disallowing pages through robots.
txt doesn't guarantee immediate removal from search results. Here's a breakdown of the timeline:
Cache Refresh: Search engines like Google cache the robots.txt file, typically for a day or so. So, it might take a day or two for Google to recognize your recent changes.
Crawling and Re-indexing: Even after recognizing the changes, Google needs to recrawl the disallowed pages and re-process them based on your instructions. This crawling process can take time, especially for large websites.
So, a few days is a normal timeframe to see the effects of your robots.txt changes.
However, there could be reasons why you're still seeing errors:
Large Number of URLs: With 4k URLs, it might take Google longer to recrawl and update its index.
Previously Indexed Pages: If these pages were previously indexed, Google might consider them valuable and keep them in the index for a while despite the robots.txt disallow.
Here are some suggestions:
Monitor Robots.txt: Use tools like Google Search Console to monitor if Google is recognizing your robots.txt directives.
Wait for Recrawling: Give it more time, especially if you have a large website.
Consider Removal Request: If it's urgent, explore submitting a removal request through Google Search Console for the specific URLs you want to be removed faster. This is separate from robots.txt and might expedite the process.
As for the duplicate pages with "?pr_prod_strat" parameter, robots.txt can handle these. You can use wildcards in your disallow directive to block all URLs containing that parameter.
For example, a directive like Disallow: /*?pr_prod_strat would disallow all URLs containing "?pr_prod_strat".
Google is saying for my website is "Alternate page with proper CANONICAL" for www. and when I check/test it in Search Console, it says User-declared canonical: (my domain) without www. So if I check my site without www is indexed and everything well, when I test with www, it says CANONICAL. How can I fix it? Thanks
hello it seems that there is a issue with choosing the canonical url. here are few things to
1) make sure your website is set up to redirect on www urls properly.
2) start rankmath / yoast seo wizard again and make sure you have added the www if asked anywhere.
Usually it happens when you use both versions of site www and without it. Again everything in GSC are not errors, but they are there to guide about your website. It might take few weeks/ months to see the updated info in GSC

No, you generally don't need to add a 301 redirect for URLs with the amp= parameter before removing it. Here's why:
AMP URLs are separate: AMP pages are considered separate versions of your original web pages. They have different URLs with the amp= parameter.
Focus on canonical: The important factor for SEO is the canonical URL, which points to the main version of your webpage (the one without amp=). Ensure your canonical URLs correctly reference the non-AMP versions.
Google handles AMP removal: When you remove the AMP version of a page, Google will eventually stop indexing it. There's no need for an additional redirect on your end.

aha, that's what you think. check if the content on the pages is very similar like header , footer is same on all pages and then the main content is very small . that can be the case. If you are confident that you have enough unique content on the pages then , go on a mark as fix the pages and submit to google to reconsider.

hello, so blogger does not give many options to manage SEO on your blog that is why people move to wordpress, but to avoid this issues make sure you do not have same content on 2 blogger posts/pages. that is the best way to avoid this error on blogger

Does anyone know how to fix pr_seq=uniform?
this will be shown in the error fir discovered/craweled not index - right ? if yes try to find out which plugin is doing that and exclude that from the site map. if it is not in the site map then add the code in robots.txt to stop google crawling that . let me know more details

Thank you again for a great video. I have stripped the category bases (through rankmath) but decided to change this want to see the category base. However now google is giving the " chose a different canonical" amd indexing the previous versin without the category base. Is there a solution to fixing these to have google index the ones with category bases? (i.e. url/post is chosen however I want url/category/post/ to be indexed) Many thanks..
hello, this error does not comes because of striping the category base, check in the report which is chosen as canonical. then analyze those pages and see if they have similar content.
And if any link ends with = 1, should I delete it? -the-chefz/?nordt=1
yes, they should be removed, check if they are custom post type , then you can remove them from the SEO plugin, if not remove it by adding rule in robots.txt
