      Sir, I have a question for you. And, you've probably already answered this question, though I don't know how often you hear it:
      When and How often is it necessary to wear cufflinks?!

      I have a strange question. Why thumbnail has an x over that bowtie? I was looking for a way to make that one and I saw this video. King of Serbia Mihailo Obrenović wore only that tie, for example.

    I'll agree with everyone here. The over-the-top camera angle is the single most helpful angle to have in this process.
    The folding before threading through the new opening near the end of the process is probably the most overlooked step too in case anyone finds this comment who is struggling to understand why it's not working.

    This is the third video, I consulted, at first going with the highest view counts. This one was the most helpful. Key factors: 1) over-the-head camera is better than the confusing selfie/ mirror view. 2) the instruction to “take the two ends of the bow and hold them together” at 0:47 was another key instruction that solved the puzzle. Thanks very much for the assist.

    Okay, I have tried to tie a bow by myself for years, and every video has failed. However, This video has the best angles where other videos do not have.
    It took me about 20 minutes to finally make the bow, and after that i can now do it without a mirror.

    By far the best tutorial i've seen. Every other channel blows past the hole part and tightening which is (imo) the hardest part to getting it right. this video goes slow enough and shows multiple angles. took me a couple tries but i have the basics down, where in the other videos i would watch a few times before trying a different video.

  • @HarrisonHollers
    @HarrisonHollers 3 года назад +3

    ONE SUGGESTION TO TIGHTEN THE KNOT:
    On opposite sides of the knot, the looped ends are where you’ll pull to actually tighten and finish the bow tie (I tell buddies to imagine holding a pencil that is slipped in to the end of the loop and by rotating the “pencil,” opposite ends of the loops being pulled, the knit will tighten.)
    A tie can be adjusted more at the end to achieve the finished look. Bow ties have to be more precise when completing the knot here.
    The less perfect, the better. Machine sewn bow ties are “perfectly” symmetrical, thus an imperfect look, is more natural and appealing. Plus, later on in the night you can undue and capture the Dean Martin/George Clooney look. Go get em!

    Short and sweet. First couple times I tried to tie it I had 2 looped ends on one side and 2 single ends on the other side. Then I pulled the side into the loop on the opposite side and poof, even Steven's. The knot is always super loose when I try to tie it but nothing a little tugging wont fix. Thank you so much for this no-fluff tutorial.
