    I also dont really buy or wear fashion jewelry any more since it tarnishes so quickly are doesnt hold up due to poor quality. Investing in a few timeless, quality pieces is worth it instead.

    Love your humor and you are very lucky to realize all this at a such a young age. One comment on sunglasses, just make sure you get one’s with lenses that protect your eyes from uva and uvb. Not only can you get melanoma on your eye but people are getting cataracts at substantially younger ages due to sun exposure. You don’t need designer frames but you need quality lenses to protect your eyes.

    Watching this video a year later and I’m slowly transitioning a lot of the things I’ve bought regularly to toxin free or “toxic-less” and a lot of things I’ve worked to not buy. I love my candles so that one has been tough! But I want a calmer, easier to take care of home and peaceful place for my family. I wish my husband would clean out his closet, but I have three boys and pregnant with son number four. Clothes are the bain of my existence! I keep it minimal for me and my kids closets as well. They rip, tear and stain everything. Everything on sale, from Walmart or Target on clearance for me also ☺️
    Making me want to throw out all of my throw pillows and wall decor 😂

    What’s your skincare routine

    • @margaretmatheny
      @margaretmatheny  3 года назад +1

      About $50-60. Sometimes I show up with wet hair and that cuts my price even more. I just type in "salons in my city". I ask for a face frame, long bangs, short trim and long layers all the way around. I use act+acre dry shampoo! It's a powder and really fantastic/non toxic. My skincare routine is all Beautycounter and a few cocokind products. I've got a Get Ready with Me video where I've linked every product!

      @ashleyhudson6888 3 года назад

      Thank you!! Do you get one length with layers or more of a v cut? Have you ever/would you ever cut yourself?

    • @margaretmatheny
      @margaretmatheny  3 года назад

      @@ashleyhudson6888 Nope, never would cut myself. I know nothing about cutting hair! I get it one length all the way around.
      I've got an AM routine up, not a PM yet. I'd say it's a mixture of a clean diet, less toxins in the home/skin care routine and my skincare!

      I’ve gone to the aveda institute for hair cuts for 6 years and always love it. Granted, I generally just get trims and facial framing so it’s not rocket science but all total (wash, cut, style, scalp massage, etc) I generally pay $20-30 and the students are so appreciative to have clients. Paul Mitchell schools are also awesome, it just depends on which one you have closer to you and whose products you like better. For me aveda wins slightly cause I live closer to their location and their products use cleaner ingredients. Highly recommend!!! Ps I also get my eyebrows waxed and tinted at the same aveda institute for $8... they’re fantastic.

    I wish people with perfect little lives realized how unnecessary it is to insert uneducated opinions about medications. Yes, a healthy person in pain might benefit from yoga or drinking water. But for people with chronic ailments, those comments come across as ableist and are super degrading.

    • @margaretmatheny
      @margaretmatheny  3 года назад +4

      I hear you and respect where you're coming from, even though I've not experienced chronic pain. I'm sure I will one day. My/our life if far from perfect, I just try to have a positive attitude and not dwell on the negatives in my life, so maybe that's why I came across as uneducated? I've received much info from doctors and chiropractors and holistic authors(never just a random Google). Regardless, I can't imagine having a chronic ailment, I'm so sorry you struggle with that. Truly. I hope you find what works for you. Sincerely mean that. Thank you for saying something. I'm actually working on putting myself in other people shoes and listening more intently - your comments are always welcome here.

      Honestly I agree. I also cringed every time she referred to a bunch of stuff as 'full of toxins' when there's very few credible sources agreeing with these claims if any at all, but it's case by case depending on the product. The typical amounts of any of the things she deems to be full of toxins are recognized as being generally safe...otherwise they wouldn't be allowed to be on the market. The claims that essential oils are some health-benefit potion are also poorly backed by research, so people that claim they're this health godsend don't strike me as doing much meaningful research from *trusted* sources
