Most of Terry Gilliam's films since 12 Monkeys haven't really got the publicity, marketing or attention they deserve. They're all just a bit too weird for the mainstream. What he does with a smaller budget and a bountiful imagination is masterful.
@@smunkyd Thank you. His films are always criminally underappreciated because although they're very informative in a simple manner, thought provoking and intelligent (clearly), they're just too weird for mainstream audience. I find nothing weird about his films.

@@macabree5856 I disagree. I think mainstream audiences would be more than happy to check out movies like this if they were offered to them. They're hungry for new and innovative stuff.
I think that the people in charge of movies simply don't want to give them what they actually want because that would require giving a fair shot to a lot of creative minds who are not as easily swayed by things like profit margins.
Terry Gilliam is too creative for Hollywood.
When I was younger I used to sit on the floor playing with my toys while my mother watched films laying on the bed and I can tell you I have seen a plethora of films that way from since I was at least 7. This was one of them and for the life of me I could not remember the name of the film but just that it had a bald guy, cyberpunky look and a beach simulation type thing. I've finally found it now after a literal decade and I can't wait to watch it and actually know what's going on. I can't watch films with my mother anymore since she passed a few years ago and it's becoming harder and harder to remember things like her face and voice, but watching films that I remember and listening to some of her favorite music helps to bring up things I've forgotten.
Apologies for the depressing story but yeah I wanna watch the movie again and soon.

This is a very underrated movie, I just loved it, special effects are not the best but the movie didn't need of them. The entire cast did a great job, specially Christoph

Special effects are as they need to be, TG is not Weta man, it all is as it should be, trust me.
This ran in Europe beginning of the year already, crazy it’s so late in the states. I liked it very much, if you liked Brazil I’m sure you’ll like it too.

hannahthecritter To be fair, I like the Transformers movies as straight up super dumb action films. Sure, there are way better films out there (like the one in this trailer, which looks amazing), but sometimes all you want to see is robots blowing shit up. And you can't deny that they deliver on that just fine.

Exactly. I don't get the straight up hate that these movies and lots of other similar ones get. You know what you're getting before you go in and they deliver exactly that. Pretty simple really. No one should be going to Transformers expecting some transcendental movie experience. I simply don't understand the hate for that. If you never ever want to see robots blowing stuff up with a high budget and great effects, don't see it. But it's really stupid to just go anyway and then say it's a bad movie. We all know we're not seeing the next Citizen Kane.

I read on this page "its all over the net" but I dropped my phone n lost that comment but I looked it up. Yep, watching it now. Im pretty sure this movie is like a secret code or some cult attempting to communicate with us tho. The first scene is the universe in the shape of an eyeball... n thats the first scene. Lol. But nebermind, im sure 99% of you dont believe in that stuff. But it is posted, in very decent quality. Just look.

Randy Butternubs My opinion is that it is both like the symbol of the ying and yang. However states of consciousness which are in constant flux can emphasis one or the other to different degrees. Nirvana is the state of ultimate IS-ness. Lesser known in spiritual texts is that beyond Nirvana is the void which can be very scary, but the void cannot "exist" without existence and vice versa. And so it is not like we are evolving towards nothing. I think it is like a superposition between all states of individuated consciousness, the ONE-ness, and the void. But the relative evolution of the individuated consciousnes aka you and me is entropically towards our highest preference which is optimal bliss and enjoyment and that is EXTREMELY good news... if you buy into anything I said at all lol!
Well personally I hope we use transhumanist technologies to create maximum bliss and enjoyment! ^_^
