    The new modern stand tv show was hot garbage. Read the book way better Or go watch the 91 version of the TV show. They change people's stories that make No sense. Some of the actors are good, but some of the actors are horrendous.

    I would recommend adding years to the names of the movies in the description. This would make it easier to find them.
    00:25 - The stand (TV Mini Series, 2020-2021)
    01:13 - Fin (2012)
    02:08 - Stake land (2010)
    03:10 - Into the forest (2015)
    04:18 - Bokeh (2017)
    05:23 - Domain (2016)
    06:30 - Hell (2011)
    07:26 - These final hours (2013)
    08:33 - 12 monkeys (TV Series, 2015-2018)
    09:22 - Only (2019)

    • @bestmovies-wg1rq
      @bestmovies-wg1rq  9 дней назад

      Absolutely, The Day After is a powerful and chilling film - it’s not just about the nuclear disaster itself, but also the raw, unsettling portrayal of how people react in the aftermath. That focus on human behavior under extreme pressure is what makes it so haunting and timeless. It’s a stark reminder of how fragile society can be. Do you think modern films capture that same level of realism and emotional impact when it comes to post-apocalyptic scenarios? Or do they often lean too much into action and spectacle?

    Surprised Daily Bread wasn't mentioned. My hands are shaking too badly to ask google what the loops of solar energy are called. Solar storm? Earth gets blasted & all power goes out. The story focuses on a. group of survivalists (who never thought to build a defensive wall around their camp) & a cooking vlog crew who get stranded at a house with too many windows. I've only seen the first season which ended with armed thugs attacking the town near the two groups.

      Daily Bread' sounds like a fascinating show! As for the 'loops' of solar energy, I think you’re referring to a solar storm, which can disrupt power systems on Earth. That’s a great premise for a series-surviving after such an event, especially with characters like survivalists and a stranded vlog crew. Hopefully, the tension keeps building in future seasons!

"Only" rzeczywiście ma swoje udziały w postapokaliptycznych stereotypach, szczególnie w sposobie, w jaki przedstawia bohaterów w ekstremalnych okolicznościach, a mimo to wciąż wyglądających trochę zbyt idealnie jak na koniec świata. Bywa to trochę nierealistyczne, gdy scenariusze przetrwania zachowują ten "filmowy" poziom piękna, nawet w całym tym chaosie. The Stand? Only if you're talking about the 1994 version. Why not throw some text on top of your video letting your viewers know their was an earlier version.
    Even with the constraints of TV censorship at the time and CGI being in its infancy, the early 90s version is still *lightyears ahead of that modern retelling (least offensive word I could think of, short of calling it a steaming pile of stinking dog poop) they made. With television censorship all but gone and the tech in place to create really amazing effects that series could've (should've).... been so much better
    *not just in time but, yeah 30yrs, that was a loooong time ago.

    • @bestmovies-wg1rq
      @bestmovies-wg1rq  5 месяцев назад

      Great point! The 1994 version of The Stand is definitely a fan favorite, and it’s often considered superior to the newer adaptation. Despite the limitations of TV censorship and early CGI, it captured the essence of Stephen King’s novel really well. I agree that it might have been a good idea to mention both versions in the video to give viewers the full picture. With today’s technology and fewer content restrictions, the newer series had the potential to be incredible, but it didn't quite hit the mark for many fans. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

      Nothing wrong with old movies. They’re often better than stuff that comes out today.
      Also, since you brought up The Omega Man there are two others movies based on the same source material, I Am Legend, a novel by Richard Matheson written in 1954. There is the 2007 Will Smith movie with the same name as the book and The Last Man on Earth starring Vincent Price from 1964. The book was supposedly an influence on George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead.

    Was NO BLADE OF GRASS listed in Part One? The story of a world famine and humanity/families murder each other to gain one more can of food. British, 1970. The fascinating part is the Holy Family that saves others from murderous gangs, only to shift their social politics of murdering others in the end. It's an interesting series of events, almost mechanical in the eventual change.

      Thank you for reminding me about ‘No Blade of Grass’! It’s indeed a fascinating 1970 film that tells the story of global famine and the struggle for survival. The story of a family that initially saves others but then becomes brutal themselves is truly intriguing.

    Personally I found "The walking dead" (using this as an example of Post Apocalyptic), I found that to be more action than horror ...
    Funny ... not one of these is an action flick ... all horror ... sort of lop-sided ...

    • @bestmovies-wg1rq
      @bestmovies-wg1rq  Месяц назад

      That’s a great observation! The Walking Dead definitely leaned more into action and survival drama than pure horror as it progressed. It’s true that many post-apocalyptic stories tend to focus on the grim and terrifying aspects, but there’s a real opportunity to explore the genre with more action-driven narratives. Do you think a balance between action and horror would work better, or do you prefer one over the other?

    • @orlondok

      @@bestmovies-wg1rq I find that if there is something that takes away from reality, it is usually good for me ... Zombies are a definite plus.
      But I do tend to go for the action movies over the pure horror/suspense types ... "Stake land" in your list seemed to bring an interesting "vampire" aspect into it.
      Another one that could be termed Post-apocalypses would have been "I am Legend" ... I found that one very entertaining ... and am looking forward to part 2.

    • @bestmovies-wg1rq
      @bestmovies-wg1rq  Месяц назад

      That’s a great perspective! Stories that break away from reality, like zombies and post-apocalyptic worlds, offer such a thrilling escape. Stake Land really did bring a fresh twist with its vampire-apocalypse blend-it had that gritty, action-packed vibe that sticks with you.
      And I Am Legend? A total classic! The mix of action, suspense, and emotional depth made it unforgettable. Part 2 is definitely something to look forward to-fingers crossed they build on the first film’s legacy. Which do you prefer: standalone stories like I Am Legend or longer, episodic journeys like The Walking Dead?

      unfortunately, though not much NEW has dropped under this premise, it nonetheless still holds true; people ARE the greatest fuqqin threat. or do you not see what's happening all across the planet? personally, i think a narrative that posits a great war between the male & female of the human species is LONG overdue.

    i never thought of vampyres as "romantic figures found in pop culture"; they always seemed like nasty, selfish parasites best quickly exterminated with EXTREME PREJUDICE.
    but hey, that's probably just me...🤔🙄😳
    'DOMAIN' is meh; by the 2nd act one can see where it's going, but it might be worth watching for fans of "SEVERANCE" as the actress who plays "HILLY R" is in it. other than that it's fairly predictable.
    "STAKELAND" is superbueno!! and it's got a sequel that ain't 1/2 bad either.
    "INTO THE FOREST"...meh, but if watching 2 white girls try to eep it together in the wilderness is your meat & potatoes, knock yourself out.
    "12 MONKEYS" is a SERIES?! huh...
    the 1st "THE STAND" is pretty good, don't know much about THIS one except WHOOPI is making whoopie.
    "ONLY" is excellent with a heartbreaking ending; also that boy who played 'CARL' in 'TWD' has a small but interesting part.
    i WOULD add 'DRAGON DAY (2013); an eerie slow burn that's quite unsettling perhaps also "THE MIST" with THOMAS JANE & "I AM MOTHER".

      Great insights and comments! You have a really interesting perspective on different films and shows. I agree, vampires in pop culture are often portrayed romantically, but many of us prefer them as brutal, dangerous creatures.
      "DOMAIN": It can be predictable, but it’s worth watching for the actress if you like "Severance." Thanks for the heads-up!
      "STAKELAND": Glad you enjoyed it! The sequel is also worth checking out if you liked the first one.
      "INTO THE FOREST": True, it might not be for everyone, but I appreciate your honesty.
      "12 MONKEYS": Yes, it’s a TV series based on the film, so it’s worth a look.
      "THE STAND": The original mini-series from the '90s is highly regarded. The new version with Whoopi Goldberg might have mixed opinions.
      "ONLY": I agree, it has a heartbreaking ending, and the role of the boy from "TWD" adds an interesting touch.
      "DRAGON DAY": Great suggestion! Its slow-burn tension is quite unsettling.
      "THE MIST": A classic that definitely deserves recognition.
      "I AM MOTHER": Also a great pick, with an intriguing take on artificial intelligence.
      Thanks for sharing your thoughts and recommendations! They’ll definitely help others looking for new titles to check out.
