This is the very first time I change spark plugs and coils all by myself and I couldn't have done it without your video! Your video and your instructions are the best I've seen! Keep up the great work and thank you so very much for all the time and effort you put into helping people like me! God bless and happy holidays!
Video is 7yrs old and STILL the best instructional video on doing this job. Did mine today in as little as 2hrs. Just wanted to reach out and say Thank You.
Hey guys great video! I have a 2010 Grand Cherokee. Burning fuel up bad, flashing check engine light. Is spark plugs enough or should I do more? Coils? Any other advice? Thanks!
Very well explained and video doesn't cut corners. Couple of spark plugs on the back left side were kind of a pain, but manageable . Thank you very much!
We own a 2010 3.7 JGC. At 61,000 miles. This video is the bomb. Outstanding. How to remove the upper air assembly was soooo helpful. I thought I was going to have to remove the steel bar running above it but not at all after watching this.
This is a great 👍 video for this job, it took me about 2 hrs, I'm 70 plus and had to climb up onto the radiator cowling for the passenger side rear 2, hard on the knees, I've got a bad one. Only thing I would add is cover your intake and the large rubber hose from the filter box with plastic bags. My engine top was really dusty and so were the spark plug wells lots of rust and dust.
Great tutorial, had a misfire in one of my cylinders and changed all 6 plugs. Unfortunately the problem persisted and after doing some further reading I decided to check the coil of the problematic cylinder. Sure enough, the coil was cracked and after changing it, everything is all good!
Great video! I have done tuneups on lots of different cars, but when I took a look under the hood of my WK I got a little intimidated. Your video was a huge help and saved me almost $400 by showing me how easy it was to do it myself. It took me about 2 hours, and the majority of that was spent on the passenger side plug next to the firewall. If I can make a suggestion to people trying for the first time, start with the rear most plugs. If you can get those finished, the rest is a piece of cake! Of course, I may have given up if I had tried that one first, lol! Thanks again for the excellent video!
Great video Dungeon. I've been doing the plugs on my '08 since I bought it new. The two points I would add to this if I may 1) Remove the connectors from the coils. This makes it so much easier to remove the coils from their shafts. It takes about 2 minutes to remove all the connectors when you start. (2 Instead of a magnet, I use painters tape to secure my 5/8 plug socket to a combination of 3, 5, 6 and 10 inch extensions. These different combinations will allow you to get under every height obstacle within the engine housing and firewall. Thanks again. Great work!
Thanks so much for this video. First time I did my plugs myself instead of paying someone and I won't pay again! Very detailed, I appreciate the step by step.
Thank you for this video!!!! I'm going to do this myself. I've been scared to try, but with your clear instructions, I can replace mine I'm sure. Thanks again!
Great job! I recently used this instructional video to change the spark plugs on my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This is a very detailed and informative video that is easy to follow. Seriously saved some major bucks doing it myself. Thanks so much!
Thanks for the video. I did mine, over the weekend. Love my new telescoping magnet! I have to get back in there, though, because I forgot to put dielectric grease on my new coil boots. Not a big deal.
Great, now because your video was so good...I have no choice but to replace my own plugs! Thanks for filing up my schedule! Lol! Great video...thank you!!!!!!!
Hi Anthony, the 0.043" gap was sourced from a dealer's shop manual. 0.043" is exactly what you want. And if you get the NGK spark plugs listed in this videos's description, you don't even have to worry about gapping them. They come correctly gapped, but you should always double check them.
I know this video is old but worth a shot. Currently trying to replace mine. I actually have a bolt that holds my coil packs in place instead of a nut. I can get the bolt loose, and pop the coil out, but can’t remove it completely because the other end of the bolt is still secured in the manifold. Please don’t tell me there are nuts on the other side of these..
So my jeep has 3 coils for 6 plugs and I cannot figure out how to change these dam plugs because the coil is connected to a screw that you cannot get out of the engine when its loose.
Depending on what your plugs are made of will determine how long they can go before they are changed. Copper is 30K Miles or 3 years, Platinum 50-60K Miles or 5-6 years, and Iridium 90-100K Miles or 9-10 years. And all or any of that depends on how well the vehicle is maintained.
I though the gap is .40??? I did my tune up recently and I gaped it to what the hood of my car said. I have the same year and model and engine size as yours. Thanks!
I am asking for a request video one again big fan... Could you do a HOW-TO check ALL your vehicle fluid for the wks all I do is an oil change I know I'm LONG over due for everything else.
Hi I always wondered looking at the spark plug area how to do this , easy. I have the 4.7 wk 2005 , love it , best economy jeep ever built , as long as you replace the air cleaner 4 times a year , drive it normal , with the exception if a bit of frisky ex celebration , it will show up some 4 cylinder Japas thanks
Awesome video 👏👏 .. Is laser iridium spark plugs , Iridium XI spark plugs or Ruthenium spark plugs better than this plugs or No (My car also 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee V6)? Thank you 🙏
THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEOS. IM THE OWNER OF THE ONE GRAND CHEROKEE 2010, WK, V8,4,7, AND IM TRYING TO CHANGE THE SPARKS, BUT ITS LOOK LIKE THIS HAS 16 SPAKS, 8 ADMITION AND 8 SCAPE, AND I DIDN´T SEE ANY VIDEO OF THAT MODEL,. CAN YOU HELP ME WHIT THAT? THANKS
Thanks, great video. Saved me time & money!! But the corrosion on your parts??? You must live on the East Coast or Coastal location. My '05 with 161,000 miles is not even slightly corroded. Thanks AGAIN!!
@@dungeonmotorsportthanks. I too have a 2008 Grand Cherokee and I noticed since the beginning of summer it was hesitate when I would accelerate. Changed everything except the spark plugs. And I recently repaired it for a blown head gasket
@@dungeonmotorsport UPDATE: I changed my spark plugs two days ago and I owe it all to this video. Thank you so much!! So far you have helped me with my spark plugs, oil change and the washer fluid nozzles.
So... I followed this. I was able to swap the three on drivers side, but honestly -- my 2010 3.7L does not have an obvious location of other three, which here like in similar location on passenger side of the engine. What am I missing!?

I know this video is old and I apologise but would changing the spark plugs stop the car from hesitating when accelerating??
Absolutely! Bad spark plugs can cause your ride's fuel economy to decrease by up to 30 percent - a result of incomplete combustion.

Can you please show how to change serpentine belt??!!
How can you tell if it's your coil pack causing the problem?
How do you check how many feet of torque is on it? You said it needs to be exactly 20 feet of torque. Do I need a special tool for that?
Yes, you need a torque wrench. Link should be in the description to this video
i just did like you show. and the mil light is on
what to do?
Is this the same for the 2010 3.7 Commander?
RD Cards it’s been a bit since this but yes it is exactly the same.
Great job
Excellent explanation. Thank you

Awesome Video!!!
good job,thanks
You got it 👍🏻
Good video. Why didn't you unplug coil wire? Never mind its in video later.
Thank you
How do you torque it down to exactly 20 ft pounds? Or even relatively close?

Did the cold air intake help with horse power or gas milage?
+edflores31 It helped on gas mileage, intake noise and throttle response.
I know im super late , but what size socket you use ? Is it a 5/8 deep well ?
5/8" Deep Socket + Extension
Thank You! :)

Is it only the V-8 engines that have the dual plugs per cylinder? Great video, thanks.
Yes.
Thanks for the vid !!!
