This is pretty cool. However I would like to see a drone that has independently articulating propellers on gimbals for each arm, and have the body/most of arms be sort of wing/lifting surface for fast forward flight. Having arm pairs of motors be independent like this is nice though.
I agree... I asked if they had any footage -- and they did, but they weren't willing to share it because the aircraft is still a prototype in development and is only flying on a tether at this point. Still, I can't see any reason it wouldn't work, and as you saw for yourself in the video, it looks like there has been some exhaust coming out of those pipes in the rear -- so they are burning gas with it.
They are developing it in-house for their own applications, and its only at the prototype stage at this point -- so I'm not sure if they ever intend to offer it as a commercial product. I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap, however...
@@Roswellflighttestcrew1947 we do intend to offer it as a commercial product in line with our current services and are currently fundraising to move from prototype to product.
I asked for that footage, of course, but they explained that they are still in the prototype phase and it is still flying on a tether for the sake of safety -- but I'd love to see that thing in action, too! Maybe at Xponential next year?

Yikes! Not one video of this unit in flight? tsk tsk
Yeah... Pretty cool looking aircraft!

Yeah... It turned my head the moment I saw it on the show floor. I knew I was going back to do a segment on it.
@@Roswellflighttestcrew1947 have you see it in flight???
Wow.... incredible. Any chance you heard what the price is for this machine? Very very cool....
