  • 『BIGBANG JAPAN DOME TOUR 2014~2015』大阪追加公演、Bennie Rodgers IIのDrum Sound Check時の動画です!
    使用Drum Kitは、Starclassic Performer B/Bのキットで、色はブラック・クラウズ&シルバー・ライニングス(Black Clouds & Silver Linings)。
    シェルサイズは、
    22x18 Bass Drum
    20x18 Bass Drum
    16x16 Floor Tom
    14x14 Floor Tom
    12x7 Tom Tom
    10x6.5 Tom Tom
    8x6 Tom Tom
    また20x16のBass DrumにFloor Tomのブラケットを取り付け、Floor Tomのようにセットして使用しているのも特徴的。
    メインスネアはS.L.P.シリーズ、G-Mapleスネア(LGM137-STA)をチョイス。サブスネアにも同スネア(LGM137-STA)をセット、サブはメインよりもチューニングを高くして使用しています。その他、Floor Tom側にはStarclassic Performer B/Bの14x5.5のスネアを展開。こちらは『ドスっ!!』というデッドでローエンドを活かした重たい音にチューニング。多彩なスネアサウンドを実現していました。

    These are very specialized Tama drums, they are not likely to made like the ones you'll find in the store unless that's how they sound.

    • @maffau415
      @maffau415 4 года назад

      Truth the kits they sell typically are more standard configurations. But I know you can order them directly from Tama in a variety of sizes. His particular setup is called the hyperdrive sizes I believe. 8x6, 10x6.5 and 12x7 (although i think he does 12x6.5), 16x14 and 18x16 with what looks like a 22x18 kick modified to be a floor tom. And he uses a 24x18 as the main kick drum. It makes for some very unique sounds but they do sound great in an arena in person.

      Okay I am old school, and I know things changes in the music industry, and all that's good too but I really don't like playing the bass drum with the new foot beater ,just not enough for me to work with, it just don't give me that REAL DEEP FOOT KICKING SOUND! you have to hump up the amplified to get that " I can feel it down in my soul " I like that old school round one. That big boom boom, not that paplatplatalapa, it sounds as if there's a hole in the base drum, there's something missing from the bass drum? Besides what do I know? I am just old school, things changes.

    My question is does every gospel chop drummer have the same guy tune their drums? "I want my Tom's to sound dead and flat and crank my snare up as tight as the bottom of a coffee can" "Then crank my side snare even higher". Just like in the 80's when hair metal drumming got played out... Or in the 90's when piccolo snare drums got played out...you all gotta come up with a new game because it's old/worn out fellas...

    • @dorislydtysker8805

      If you are thinking of the drum-by-drum style line-check that most of us associate with the drum sound-check, be sure that they have done that before the video. Though it probably didn’t take as long as one would think. A production like the one in the video, is probably touring with their own digital mixing system. So every day they start out their sound-checks loading the mixer-settings from the previous gig or from a production rehearsal. The everyday line-check is than typically performed by the drum-tech not the drummer. And the drum-tech and audio engineer together make sure that both the drums tuning and the microphone-channel is set/does sound as they did on the previous gig.
      And although the audio engineer (Actually there will probably be at least two. One in the crowd-area, also called front-of-house, and one on stage doing the monitor-sound for the musicians.) are working on the drum-sound, the sound-check we are witnessing in this video is probably mainly a bit of warmup and practicing time for the drummer, who probably has been on tour for quite a while and doesn’t really have any other possibilities to practice.
      In the first few seconds of the video the drummer does a short check of his toms one by one. My guess is that he is checking if the monitor engineer has placed them right in the stereo-field of his in-ear-monitors.

    • @snapascrew

      Dan Killen that doesn’t explain it... the slap back from the snare sounds like it’s in a stadium and natural time of echo/decay... the kick slap back is way quicker than the snare. Physics wouldn’t allow that.

      That particular series is discontinued now unfortunately. He used Starclassic B/B and now uses the Starclassic Walnut/Birch. I don't know how much custom orders run (which you'd need to do in order to truly replicate the kit), but a rough estimate just to have the same basic 7 pc kick, snare, 3 up, 2 down setup with what's available on the normal market would run around $3200.

    • @retiredlivingthedream
      @retiredlivingthedream 4 года назад +1

      @@tzimme7639 Yeah I know, but more like a sound nightmare. And well, #1, he's being filmed and he knows it, so at least keep some decent time, keep your fills in time and try not to sound like a first year drummer struggling to find a beat. #2, count how many times he hits his sticks together and his accidental rim hit "misses". #3, He can barely keep decent time along with the keyboard player. All I'm saying is that for all of the praise within the comments, such as "dude kills it", "amazing groove" and so forth, this sloppy delivery is a little embarrassing for a professional being filmed, even during a sound check.

      @@jeckremigio2698 Did you read my reply above to T Zimme? No? Then read it. Yes? And you still felt the need to comment again about it being a sound check? Also, didn't anyone ever tell you that you should never assume? As in assuming that I don't know who Bennie is and that I have only seen, or heard, him play this one time. I've been following Bennie since his days with Mariah Carey. Great drummer, but it doesn't change the facts that I stated above in my previous comments. Also, since when was stating clear facts "judging" something, or someone? The truth hurts. Calling it judgmental doesn't take away the pain of reality. You are a train wreck of misrepresentation and presumption. Nevertheless, I stick to what I stated in my original comment, as well as in my reply to T Zimme.
