    What charger do you use to charge your battery and when you go fishing do you prefer to fold it up or leave it inflated when you travel to the fishing spot. How long does your battery last?

    • @ItsTippToppFishing
      @ItsTippToppFishing  2 года назад +2

      I always use a smart charger with my lead acid deep cycle battery.
      Traveling with the inflatable depends on space and fuel consumption of your vehicle. To look after your boat, you don't really want to deflate the boat and you would rather keep it loosely inflated at all times but because of space and fuel savings I deflate my inflatable and stick it in the trailer when I travel.
      How long your battery will last is dependent on the capacity of your battery and the current draw of your trawling motor. So it's hard to say. I would advise to keep a volt metre on your battery so that you can see the status of your batter at all times

    Hi what size trolling motor do you use? And is it ok in average amount of wind?

    • @ItsTippToppFishing
      @ItsTippToppFishing  4 года назад

      I have a 36lb and it does good. When you click over to max power it's quite strong for my little boat. The keel helps a bit too but all inflatables are a bit shifty in the wind.

    • @richardwadge1787
      @richardwadge1787 4 года назад

      Thanx for the quick reply. I have a 3m prestige same style as yours. I have a 3,6hp and an 8hp do you think the 8hp is going to be too much for the boat?

    • @ItsTippToppFishing
      @ItsTippToppFishing  4 года назад

      I'm not sure. I'm not hugely experienced with outboards with different boats. What I think is, you never know till you try it. So if it was my boat and my motor, I would put it on and test it. Start slow and build up speed bit by bit. If the boat starts acting up, slow down again. You don't have to ride full throttle... And lucky you to have 2 motors!

    Do you know how to provent the floor from bounce When hitting waves

    • @ItsTippToppFishing
      @ItsTippToppFishing  3 года назад

      Unfortunately not. The hull shape is wrong for anti bouncing. A hull shape that cuts through the water is much more favorable.

  • @lizzbien4446
    @lizzbien4446 3 года назад

    These are the questions new boaters are afraid to ask, as the response usually starts with laughter! How tight should you screw up the transom clamps? I’m afraid I’m going to start crushing the transom on my new boat and leave lots of clamp marks on it, as I can over tighten things sometimes to be on the safe side! Not good!

    • @ItsTippToppFishing
      @ItsTippToppFishing  3 года назад +1

      I'm the same. I prefer too tight vs a lost motor. The rubber does help. I'd also say the higher the horse power the tighter you must make it?

      Thank you for your feedback. It’s a 4m inflatable boat plus a 15hp outboard motor. Great tip though with the rubber mat. However I have already paid approx $25 for two “proper” transom mats that are a custom shape designed for this purpose. Great vids, when should the R/C bait boat water test video come? 🙂

      @@ItsTippToppFishing You can tie the clamps together to stop them loosening. You should also connect a lanyard to the motor with carabiner hook to secure it to the transom as a failsafe.

    I pumped my inflatable boat last night to take it out morning but there seems to a little loss of air and the boat isn't stiff...
    Does it mean there's a leak? Or is it normal. Also can you please make a video on how to make/find a floor for an inflatable boat

    • @ItsTippToppFishing
      @ItsTippToppFishing  4 года назад +2

      When the air temperature changes, it does effect the air inside the boat. It's got to do with heat and molecular movement of the air particles inside the boat. When the air is cooler, there will be less molecular movement meaning that the boat will seem a bit deflated and when the day heats up, the boat will seem firmer as if some one has put more air in it even though there is the same amount of air in it.
      Put some air in it in the morning and let some air out during mid day (to prevent over inflation)
      In terms of making the floor... I have never made a floor for an inflatable boat before, what I suggest is contact "Specimen Inflatables" and they should be able to help you out.

    • @ItsTippToppFishing
      @ItsTippToppFishing  2 года назад +1

      They aren't cheaper in the initial amount. Maybe if you add up per cycle and in the long run it's cheaper. But here a 100ah batter is:
      Lead acid: R2000
      Lithium: R8500
