Always check your front door window mechanisms before they fail - the cables rust easily (depending on the climate, of course). I've changed them both, on both my CLSs, as they all eventually failed. Current car: 2005 CLS 55. Previous car: 2005 CLS 350 (gasoline)
This is same exact car as featured in 50 cent ft Tony Yayo “so seductive” music video (theirs is black) and I’ve always wanted this car. Fun Fact: I’m a hip hop artist and have a song with Tony Yayo myself
My cars twin, it's beautiful. Word of advice, go long tubes right out of the gate. It's a bitch of a job, only do it once. I went with MBH and the sound/power is glorious.
Love your car, it's such a beautiful one. My buddy had the same everything but in Black. It was a great car up until 100k miles, the transmission went out on him.
Again: the most beautiful sedan ever made ( or must we say sedanned coupé/coupéd sedan), probably even the most beautiful production car ever made. I upright would pick this over a modern CLS or S-Class. The lines of this car stay unparralled.
Even though i love this cls, i think the e34 m5, giulia, sl r219, aston martin rapide, lexus lc500, and the ALFA ROMEO 6C v6 are arguably more beautiful designs. This CLS w219 is still a revolutionary design of course.
New Subscriber!!! Appreciate the insight So after countless months of researching and this video helped a ton! I'll now go with CLS55 all the way. Contemplating if I got the 550 route I'll always be wishing I got the 55, especially when I get burnt by all the imports and muscle cars...
06 cls55, same color as yours and super clean but more problems. power and performance is there but reliability is not, i've owned mine from may 2020 to now, did so much work to it and still getting problems (keep in mind that i baby the car and have all work done by a performance shop in orlando FL). currently has 94k miles and i'm considering to junk it.
First of all, thank you! Means a lot to us! To answer your question, the CLS350 CGI's suspension is a coil spring set up which is completely different than the CLS55's stock AIRMATIC air suspension system. To be fair, from what I gather, the stock E350 and CLS350 actually feel better at handling than their air suspension counterparts. SN's CLS55 AMG here has a coilover conversion, however, which is much more similar to what the CLS350 has from the factory.
They are ever so slightly harsher than normal mounts, but also more durable. Not to mention, serviceable. For a car that's about to undergo heavy modification, I think they will be a good choice
How often do the rear main seals go out on these cars? Its something I see A LOT on M113K cars, and my S55 needs that done. Just wondering how long before I’ll need to address it again
It's quite frequent. Get an OEM seal and make sure your mechanic knows the process and isn't half-assing it. Even after getting it done twice now, I still have the occasional drip and that's just a reality of owning theses cars.
This engine by German standards is very reliable. In fact, the power train is very robust, both the M113K engine and 722.6 transmission are fantastic. However, they are not without issue, and whether you are a DIYer or take it to the shop can really change how much you spend. Fuel consumption for normal driving is 14 city, and 18-22 highway. A tank of gas will easily net 350-400 miles with nice driving, which is hard to do 🤫
I own cls55 but when i bought a tesla i put my Mercedes i. The garage under the shade i will wait 15 years and sell it after. And i will not spend single dollar for my tesla ❤
Generally on the side of your phone there are 2 buttons one facing the top of the phone and one facing the charging port. Generally speaking the one facing away from the charging port is the volume up button. Pressing the volume up should increase your volume. If not maybe seek an otolaryngolgist.
Never buy a car cash. Put money down and pay monthly. You then have money for repairs, build your credit, and have the option to pay the car off when you’re ready
Lol. Only finance a car if you can invest the full purchase price cash in a higher yielding instrument than youre paying interest on the loan. Youre giving terrible advise, so confidently
@@DutchManticore so one should pay cash for a 40k car instead of financing it right? What about a 120k car, buy that outright too huh?? Unless the car is 5k, you’re giving even worse advice… Most ppl finance their cars because they CAN’T pay with cash! I just gave a reason not to. No one in their right financial mind would tell you to pay flat out for car A instead of financing car B if they had the cash to do it! Never buy a car cash when you can finance. Cars depreciate too much to have too much cash tied in them
@@CNote825 yes. If you cant pay for it cash you cant afford it lol. If you make 80k a year you have no business driving a 60k car lol. Its just Americans and their financing that think this is normal. The ONLY reason you finance is if you can use the money to generate a higher return than the cost of borrowing In all other cases, you are keeping yourself poor. Literally, you will not understand this I make 140k a year, with a 210k household income. We have 400k in savings. My girlfriend drives a €12k Opel Adam, and I drive a €32k Volvo V60 T8. Both bought and paid for outright. I could easily borrow Range Rover or Ferrari money. Even afford those cars outright. And you know why I dont? Because Im not going to pay interest on a rapidly depreciating liability. Thats how I got wealthy in the first place
@@DutchManticore most countries don’t pay as much and offer the types of opportunities, or traps, as America either. If you make 80k a year you STILL shouldn’t pay cash for even a 15-20k car! Imo one shouldn’t buy a car, cash or finance, more than 1/4-1/3 their income! You should NEVER tie up cash in a car that will depreciate faster than you can drive it. If that car is less than 5-10k and one makes 80k, by all means buy it cash. If it’s a newer car, finance it. Based on what you’re saying one should pay cash for the newest car they can afford to pay cash for, which is not the case! The cheapest 2018 Ferrari for sale near me is 159k and there is a 2021 for 199k. Even with your alleged financial situation, you would be a fool to pay cash for those. Nobody with good sense would tell you to do that I think we’re saying the same thing. I’m not sure tho…
@@DutchManticoreI agree with you. People that rather finance doesn’t understand money and why they stay broke. I own all 3 of my vehicles. Only debt I have is my mortgage and I’m paying an additional $1k a month to the principal. I rather pay off the house quicker, so I can save thousands of cash. Following that 30 year loan will have my total interest cost almost close to the cost of my house. Not worth paying that minimum payment every month.

Yes, you are right about this. SN had both windows repaired by the previous owner prior to sale. This is a common failure point!
I found that a month after I bought mine last year
Congrats on getting 500 Subs. Today cause I'm the 500th subscriber plus I'm looking to get my first AMG and this been on my list

If I was only able to ever have one mod on an AMG, it would be headers hands down every time.

Buy stock. A modded car is a mystery box imo
Hey bro. Sweet video. Could you list the link of all of the parts you've changed? Seemed very cheap.

Thinking of getting one what’s going on here would like to know
