I'm so glad!
This is very beautiful and it's fun watching you creating such interesting paint. 😘💚
Since I started following you - this is my favourite painting that you have done so far in watercolour!!!!
Thank you so much 😀
I love the technique for creating the hazy, dreamy background -- such a different result from starting with a wet-on-wet background wash and then painting on top of it. I never would have guessed that it would work so beautifully, and can't wait to try it.
Love those cosmos! Very nice, Ellen. Thank you!
Thank you so much!

Lovely. The mystical background makes it!
You are so funny! You make sound effects and always, always in a so good vibe! I almost had a panic attack when you started to wash the paper, that’s because I don’t have this talent of yours. Of course it turned out wonderful! I’ll give it a try, though! Thanks!
Great lesson, Ellen! So pretty. Thanks so much.

I love it! You make it look so easy. Wonder how I’ll do?
This was a great exercise - it took me out of my comfort zone!
Really good one Ellen.
Must admit to start with, I was thinking
No! what is she doing!
But I have to say I really like it.
Perhaps I’ll have a go.

You're welcome!
Love it so interesting. Did you let flowers dry before doing wash?
Yes 😊
Sehr schön!!!!👍👍👍🌞
thanks!
Well, Ellen, I think I can just about guess your age when you said, "Gettin' Jiggy Wit it! That made me laugh.
lol Gen X here!
@@ellencrimitrent Me, too!
Hey Ellen, you are so talented! Thanks for sharing your expertise with us. Question: what kind of clear tape do you use to tape your edges? Regular tape seems to tear the paper when I remove it. Thanks in advance!
Regular scotch tape, I believe.
I want to thank you for mentioning Jerrysartarama, it’s 45 minutes from my house, I was like a kid in a candy store!
oh yeah!!!
I am close to Jerry's as well. I live in Cary! Small world!
Can you provide a little more info on the two brushes used in this piece? Princeton has many lines, even for watercolor. I haven't found these particular brushes yet. Which Princeton line/vendor has the no. 3/8 flat wash brush? Which Princeton line/vendor has the 1" craft wash brush? The only no. 3/8 brush I've found so far is an angle shader.... as a novice, I need lots of help. Thank you!
In the description
The information in the description below the video does not answer my questions. I did my initial searches based on your source info but did not succeed. Is there more specific info available that will address my quesions?
Deborah Peek: Hi! Just use any 3/8 in flat brush, and any 1". Actually, paper is the most important part; it is nearly impossible to create a successful painting on cheap and thin paper. Canson is just ok; I like Bee paper, and use it often. If you notice, Ellen uses Arches, and that is my favorite too. It is more expensive, but worth it. After you have practiced a bit, I suggest you try it too. Back to brushes: My 3/8 in is one I've had for years from when I first started watercolor, and didn't know anything about brushes yet. I bought it at a craft store, and chose it because I liked the clear blue handle! 😊 I'm still enjoying using it. I only use synthetic brushes, and I can suggest the Simply Simmons line. They are a good starter brush, you can find them various places, and they are pretty inexpensive. Hope this helps! Happy painting! ♥️😻♥️
I love this, and I’m going to give it a try. If my husband sees it he will say "why’d you paint over it!"
Could you use a filbert brush?
