You guys catch fish without $4K worth of electronics in the hut? :) I thought I was the last guy on the ice with a Vexilar. Looking forward to the hard water!
Both a Vexilar and Forward Facing Sonar had a time and place but if I could only have one… it would be a Vexilar. Nothing beats a Vexilar when you have fish below you.
How soon do you think it'll be before the ice is drivable? All I got is a 2011 ford escape, nothing too big. Would love to get out into some good remote stuff.
Going on my first walleye ice fishing trip to the Red lake area this december. What kind of ice fishing rods do you recommend for walleye? I usually fish pan fish.
@@organicsticky I wasn't trying to be smart buddy.I just recently moved up here to southeast Minnesota from Texas and I had no damn clue it was that cold, minus 40 you said,in November.I was up there in Baudette,Wheeler point area in October last year.So yea,it was an honest question.😂
I use both. Fatheads are easier to get and keep alive and are more durable so I use them a lot but there are times on LOTW where nothing works as well as a shiner. I usually try both.
This is a dream trip right here... imagine getting out the shanty and seeing these guys 😳😳😳❄️💙
Thumbs up for Mike Rodger! Great guy, loved talking with him at the Blaine Hardwater show. So much amazing knowledge.
This has me amped for ice fishing. Bring on the hardwater and walleyes!
Haha "broke back shiner" Great show, thanks for a great post.

I love mine💯
The best is when you beat the scopers in a tourney with just a vex

I'm still rocking a non brushless...love it
Lots of people still have vexlars.
On my bucket list. I see Mike's using the JT Outdoor 35" Gold Digger as a deadstick rod
LK74...fishing in extreme spots under the ice is amazing uncle...a cool detection tool
Great video JMO. Patiently waiting here in Montana for Peck to freeze over!
hey from flathead valley 🤙🏼
I still only have an old FL8. Works fine for me.
Mine works just fine. Might upgrade to a new battery this season. 😉
Same here! My buddies tease me and think I need to upgrade. Why? I can’t the same, if not, more amount of fish then they do. Tight lines!
*catch
Lk72...fishing under the ice with my brother's..amazing detection device
How far do you usually drive out onto the lake? Miles wise 🔥 excited to go this year
No footage of the perch release? Nice one!
Damn… how thick is the ice out there already ? 😅😅😅😅🔥🔥👍🏽👍🏽
Called and it's just at 3in. Last week, hyping up for this season. Ice broke early last yr in wheelers point, and we missed out.

Hooking the shiner upside down?
Great video, Jason! What "Dead Stick" was Mike Rogers using in the video? Was yours the Dead Meat stick? Thanks.
I was using a Dead Meat, believe Mike was using a JT Rod.
Looked like a JT Gold Digger.
❤nice catch! Good to see you back on ice

Medium Light action 32-34” will serve you well for Red.
Love that Broke Back Shinner comment with a straight face. Lol!
A flasher cam helps me watch a whole video 😢
Is this from last yr?
Has to be!

It's about 3in now, their just hyping up this coming season. Shacks don't get out usually until mid december.
You prefer shiners over fat heads?

Thank you sir, much appreciated!
Is this video really a couple days old? Did you really go ice fishing up there just recently,g
No we aired it last week on television and was filmed last February.
@@JasonMitchellOutdoors lol i figured so. Had to make sure. I'll be going up north this week to find a small lake to fish. With my new x400 and floor!
