I have watched several videos on how to make a tote bag. This was concise and thorough, with helpful tips I have not heard yet. Thank you!

That will make an excellent practice project before I tackle a stack pack cover, weather cloths and a jib deck bag.

If you want to hide the raw edges of the seams you could use French seams.
Fold the bag with the pockets on the outside, sew the sides together 1/8” from the edge.
Turn bag so the inside is on the outside. Press folded seams with hands. Add seam stick if necessary to keep seam in place on the edge
Stitch seams again 1/4” from the edge so that you enclose the raw edges.
Turn bag, so the right side is outside, stitch corners.
Cut corners close to stitching, turn bag again. Stitch across corners 1/4” from the edge, enclosing raw edges.
Bag is completed, turn to the outside.

I love the tape, but it gums up my machine......how do you put so much tape on a project and never have a problem with it gumming up the needle, thread and bobbin?

Usually fabrics that are medium weight, like this Sunbrella Marine Grade fabric have enough body or fibers to clean the needle as it exits and enters the fabric. The Sailrite Ultrafeed Sewing Machines also don't seem to mind the glue build up on the needle (when sewing medium or heavy duty applications). However, some sewing machines can't stand for any glue on the needle. If the needle gums up with the double-sided tape just use a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol on it and clean it when and if it builds up.

Of course it can, and is. 9 ft per bag..... watch the video. I just made a bag for a poker table that folds in the center. I used 2" wide webbing and it took way more than you'd think and I put a zipper in it as well.
