If you have any more questions, please do let us know in the comments, as we want to help you get out fishing, on your own!
    *Giveaway*
Thanks to Angling Direct for allowing us to giveaway the AD Get Fishing Float Pack used in this video.
All you have to do is comment on this video and let us know why you want to get into angling, or why you’re getting back into angling?
The deadline for entering is the 16th of October.
As in each video, we will be using an Angling Trust Qualified Licensed Coach to demonstrate how to use the equipment and how to set it up. In this episode, we have, Dean Asplin.

    Landing net: 16inch - 26inch
You will need a rod fishing licence from the Environment Agency to fish for freshwater fish in England (except the River Tweed), Wales and the Border Esk region of Scotland. You can purchase one here: www.gov.uk/fishing-licences
Licences for children aged between 13 and 16 are free, but you’ll still need to get one.

Whenever you leave the water, remember to Check Clean Dry!
Check your gear after leaving the water for mud, aquatic animals or plant material. Remove anything you find and leave it at the site.
Clean everything thoroughly as soon as you can, paying attention to nets, waders, and areas that are damp and hard to access. Use hot water if possible.
Dry everything for as long as possible before using elsewhere as some invasive plants and animals can survive for two weeks in damp conditions.
You can also check out: www.getfishing.org.uk/ for more information and to find an event near you.
A big thank you to Longbridge lake for letting us film this video.
No excuses, get out there, get fishing - brought to you by the Angling Trust.

I'm baffled this video only has 33k views. There is no assumed knowledge, you've explained absolutely everything in perfect detail, and I haven't left the video having to search for explanations of things you've glossed over (like I have on a lot of other videos).

Took my 10 year old grandson fishing for the first time. He caught and lost a carp on his first cast. Caught three more, he is now hooked. Great video, I have been away from the water for such a long time and found your advice invaluable.

Really enjoy your delivery it’s refreshing as trying to get my 10 yr old out fishing and as I’ve not fished for many years, your instruction is very clear for the novice without being patronising!

A great intro for me and boys that had a taster day in the summer at Henfold Lakes, Surrey. Something we can do as a family and are really enjoying it. The kit would be amazing to help us with the setup

I would love to take up fishing again. You can really get back to nature and appreciate all it has to offer. Just concentrating on your float is a great way to clear your mind which helps you to relax, something I think is important with the troubles of COVID and the mental Heath issues that we are hearing about. Just a comment about safety when new to casting. Always check your surroundings, especially over head. Electricity cables are extremely dangerous if over head with carbon rods etc. Stay safe and tight lines !

*These are easy to use and highly visible **enjoyable.fishing** recommend they are extremely valuable for going from a dead drift set up to a float setup. They save time and you don't have to re-tie everything to add a float to your presentation.*

I loved the video it has given me the push I needed to get back in to angling. I am from an age where we learnt from Mr Crabtree cartoons and then trial and error. I would love to win the Angling Direct pack so that I can take my grandson fishing so that he gets the same joy from the sport that I did.

A great video pal very educational. Well explained and even as I have been fishing for 2 year's now mostly lure fishing but have only fished with float a handful of times and always took me a while to get the depth right but not anymore I always wondered what the lead weight with the loop on top was for lol not anymore thanks again Top video pal well done.

Hi, first of all great video for beginners like me! I'm shortly moving from the south coast where I started shoreline fishing. As I'm moving back to the Midlands and there aren't many beaches around and as I wanted to keep fishing, thought I would go freshwater fishing. Anyway, the Angling Direct offer is probably no longer available because of the video date, but you never know??

I do find it funny when the “carp official” states “don’t use a towel, it’s an old skool method”. Well if your about the welfare don’t stick a hook in its lips 🤷‍♀️
