In this video we're taking a look at all the stadiums and teams for the 2024 Japanese J1 League season. Ordered by capacity, you will learn the name of the stadium, the team, the capacity and the year it opened. You will see each ground from the air and from the stands. What is your favourite J1 League stadium?
The Meiji Yasuda J1 League ( 明治安田J1リーグ) is the top Japanese football league. There are 20 teams competing in the league. Vissel Kobe are the defending champions, having won their first ever league title in the previous season.

Very impressive! I love all of them other than the ones with running tracks. These are great.
despite the many running tracks, all of these stadia are quality. not a fan of domes or anything too modern but the multi-use baseball/football domes are unique

Last time i was in Japan i was able to see an NPB game, but not JLeague. Top of my list for when i go back.

the Sapporo Dome it looks like an spaceship.. looks cool.. it's a multipurpose stadium..
Now it is single purpose. The baseball team couldn't stand the city council asked for extortionate rent in the contract renewal meeting. So they decided to build their own stadium which was in use form 2023 season onwards. Now the football team is the only tennant, so the stadium is pretty much just for football.

It looks nice from the outside, but the pitch is almost as hard as concrete, and it is said to be the worst stadium in Japan.
In fact, it also functions as a spaceship.
@@user-ju34gtd4pp Your comment is misleading. Baseball pitches are as hard as concrete, and football pitches are comparable to other stadiums.

2029年に川崎フロンターレのスタジアムは、ランニングトラックが廃止されフットボール用へ進化する。これにより、J1に所属するチームの70%〜80%ほどがフットボール専用スタジアムでプレーすることになるが、問題点は首都である東京にフットボール専用スタジアムが無いことと、人口が日本で2番目であり、約1000万人が暮らす神奈川県にフットボール専用スタジアムが足りていないことだ。神奈川県には平均して4つのJ1クラブがあるため、フットボール専用スタジアムが足りていない。また、今年は東京に3チームのJ1チームがあるが、つまり、それらもフットボール専用スタジアムになっていないことになる。
ちなみに、私が述べた東京都と、神奈川県の２つの都道府県単位でフットボール専用スタジアムが整備されるだけで、J1リーグの約95%がフットボールに特化したスタジアムになることになる。J1リーグの20チームのうち、東京ヴェルディ、FC東京、町田ゼルビアが東京をホームタウンとし、湘南ベルマーレ、横浜F・マリノス、川崎フロンターレが神奈川県をホームタウンとする。よって東京都と神奈川県が変われば、残るのは新潟県のアルビレックス新潟のスタジアムのみだ。この中で、川崎フロンターレは先ほども述べたようにスタジアムの改修が決定しており、横浜F・マリノスはフットボール専用スタジアムをホームにすることもできるが、収容人数が1.５万人しかないため、平均入場者数の３万人を確保するために大規模な日産スタジアムで試合をしている。
その通りで、あとは国立でなんか代表戦をするのはやめて欲しいです。最低2万〜2万5千人規模の専用スタジアムと、ビッグクラブや代表戦用の4〜7万人規模のスタジアムが欲しいです。トラックがあるとピッチが遠いのと、座席傾斜が緩すぎて見づらいです。

@@ChristopherAmankwah yes, and the Atalanta and Udinese refurbishments look really good too. Torino's looks nice and the Sampdoria one has some character. Many need some upgrades for sure though.

Denka big swan stadium,Although it is not a soccer-specific stadium, it is excellent for track and field, and there is no doubt that it is an excellent stadium in that respect.
Proof that smaller stadiums don't have to look pig ugly like many of the identikit stadiums we have in the UK.

Nice to see more football specific stadiums running or coming in Japan. The tracks are the worst. Mizuho (where my Grampus played) was atrocious. The UK, Germany, and the US have the best footy stadiums overall.
I wish Vissel's stadium all had the same coloured seats.

they go around the country but they normally play their qualification matches at Saitama stadium

I think it is difficult for Japan to build a stadium like England's Wembley, they build stadiums for football but only small sizes, to have a stadium larger than Saitama is rare. They will build a big soccer field with a running track

why do they have a lot of English-sounding name stadiums ? I'd expected some names like of the Cerezo Osaka's stadium
Because companies bought naming rights like Emirates Stadium.
@@toributa150 I didn't mention these, I meant some names like Best Denki or Sapporo Dome. I'm not sure that the one making this video translated the stadium names from Japanese to those English words or in Japan they really use these English words like that ( because it's strange that some stadium names has both Japanese and English words in it, why don't they translate the whole name ?)
@@myrealon9209 Best Denki is the company that bought the naming rights. Sapporo Dome is a combination of the city name and dome. They’re not translations. Japan has become accustomed to importing foreign words ever since it imported kanji from China. Therefore, it is very common to combine foreign words and Japanese. Those words are written in katakana rather than the alphabet, and the pronunciation is also Japaneseized.
Maybe many J1 league’s stadiums are better than SerieA’s stadiums.
As a italian, J1 stadiums are obviously better than our stadiums...
