Liner Notes:
Genesis is one of my all-time favorite bands, right up there with the Beatles and Rush. And Phil Collins is my favorite vocalist, behind only Sir Paul McCartney. I had a chance to see Phil Collins on his recent tour stop in Denver, and this was one of the two Genesis songs he performed. I used to perform this song in my first band in high school, so I thought I'd give it a try as an acoustic arrangement. It's a perfect little song, so I've enjoyed reviving it.

As a die hard Genesis and Phil Collins fan....it pains me to admit how great this version is! ...outstanding sir!

What a beautiful bass guitar that chap has. Nice song. I’ve never heard the original but I loved your version.
Thanks Chris. My dad and I built it actually. I have several bases, but this one is special. We only made one bass, but nothing plays or sounds like it. It just sounds killer. The neck is made of purple heart, mahogany and maple - heavy but the tone is just insane.
Please listen to the original… so you can fully appreciate how amazing this is! Brought a year to my eye.

Mike doesn't just cover a song, he makes it his own so you remember his version alongside the original. This is a great choice too. I always took it to be an amicable breakup song. Bittersweet. Authentic.

Love this cover. Saw Genesis during their last reunion tour and Phil in 90 and again last year. Always loved this song and consider Phil to be criminally underrated as a major talent. Thanks for another awesome cover.
