No wonder why 'Chhoti si baat' became such a memorable masterpiece 💞 it was considered as one of the best hindi romantic comedy film of the 1970s, a nostalgic favourite for its quirky take on pre-hypercongestion bombay. Arun's character can be related by many nice guy's even today that's the beauty of this movie it has simplicity & innocence with a real life story which connects directly to heart. Colonel singh mould him into a mature, confident young man through meticulously designed lesson plans, peppered with philosophy so he was very instrumental in making the love story of Arun & Prabha work 💕 otherwise Nagesh would have definitely won in the race.

"Chhoti si Baat" is my all time favourite movie of Basu da . He is such a creative genius. He showed simplicity , pure content on what he believes.
Although this film is a remake of the 1960 English film " School for Scoundrels", it has its own beauty. Asha Ji's voice in 'Janeman Janeman' & Lata Ji's Voice in 'Naa jaane kyun' song are just perfect.
Ashok Kumar & Ashrani are such tremendous actors. It is because of Nagesh's character & looser expression ( Ashrani) , Arun's Character ( Amol Palekar) has that charishma & heroism later . That No-Bindi look of Prava ( Vidya Sinha) added simplicity to the character . Also the Pallu of Saree draped over the shoulder makes a signature look for her .
Director is so specific about the characters , story , screenplay, length of Film , location , actors.
What a Film Basu Da ! A masterpiece of 1976 which is valid in 2024 also. "Old is Gold". A pure nostalgia of 70s Bombay . No Film has ever shown the simplicity of Bombay and it's asthetics like this film .

इतनी खुबसूरत और प्यारी फिल्म है जब छोटे थे तो दूरदर्शन पर ब्लैक एंड व्हाइट टेलीविजन पर ये फिल्म पहली बार देखी थी फिर जब केबल कनेक्शन आ गया मौहल्ला में तो रंगीन टेलीविजन ले आए फिर जी क्लासिक पर तीन चार बार देखा इस फिल्म को आज के इंटरनेट और मोबाइल फोन के जमाने में चौथी बार युटुब पर देख रहा हूँ ऐसी ही खुबसूरत पुरानी हिंदी फिल्में ब्लैक एंड व्हाइट और इस्टमेन कलर्स वाली युटुब पर खोज खोज कर देखते रहते हैं आज की नयी फिल्म तो अच्छी नहीं लगती कभी कभी कोई फिल्म नयी भी अच्छी आती है लेकिन सभी नहीं

I selected this film from amongst literally an expanse of movies on offer inflight movies on an airplane. I found this film to be very realistic and free of any made-up plot. A portrayal of how life was indeed during those early years. Really enjoyed this classic Bollywood production.

Bahot hi sidhi aur simple kahani par life ki bunyadi sikh deti hai ki apne pyar ko pane ke liye kisi tricks ki jarurat nahi hai balki sacche dil se ki gayi kruti kamyabi dila deti hai.
I have watched this movie at least 200 times and every time I don't like it, these movies are so cute that I never get bored of them, I feel like watching them again and again.
The world of this movie is natural, neat and clean, full of simplicity, no fast moving cars and planes, without ringing of smart phones.
