This is a great explanation. Question- when asking your horse to go or increase speed do you slightly squeeze both legs or use another cue? If squeezing booth legs is the cue to get them to collect how do you differentiate between the cue of forward movement and increasing speed?

Great question. Here's a quick video we made that addresses that issue. ruclips.net/video/AuE_SyXjwXk/видео.html

I use a cavesson early on to help the young ones avoid learning to mouth gape. I don't tighten it enough to where they cannot open their mouth, it just discourages chewing on the bit more than if I were to go without. Some horses really enjoy playing with the bit and it's not a good habit for them to develop.
It's illegal to show the western horse in, so you definitely don't want to use it in a way that you create a crutch out of it. 👍

What do you do if your horse keeps falling into the circle and you put your leg on and the horse doesn't move?
