Jason , I love helping people. There’s just not enough hours. It feels good. You have to work on a gas mig. You would be surprised how much better you can do! I wish I could help you to buddy 👍🤓
Thanks MamaandPapabear, bolting the heater channels to the floor pans then matching it back up to the body does insure all the bolt holes do line up. After you do a couple it starts getting easier. Also instead of measuring a bunch of places for the floor pans. All you have to do is make sure the rear cross member outer hole matches with the new pan and the front Nepoleon hat holes line up and that’s factory.👍🤓
@@busterstravels1534 A lot of us wished you were local, to help weld vw's back together again. Hopefully Ralph can help you, when you need another set of hands in the garage.
@vintage76vipergreenBeetle I met Ralph buy selling him a couple bumpers. We spoke then about building a little local VW community in our area. I believe once we get on the road it will be a good start. I’m sure Ralph would help me if needed.
Great timing. Doing this right now. I screwed my pans in a couple places and set the body back on. All the screws line up perfect except for the two on the Napoleon and two under the back seat. Any suggestions on how to go about finding a happy medium?
Hello Peggy, I always put the heater channels on the pans, then weld under the body. It eliminates that problem. It sounds like they are close, if that’s the case you can open up the hole with a carbide bit . Also not sure of your exact situation but maybe if you loosen the bolts and move the heater channel a little one way or another, maybe tap the heater channel with a hammer. If I was able to see a picture, maybe I could be better help. Everything is fixable hang in there you figure it out. Let me know how you make out. 👍u got this
@@busterstravels1534 I have the channels tacked on the body so I think my next move is to put the body back on and loosen the pans and channels and kinda start over. Love your videos. Thanks for the quick reply
@peggymaston9713 ty . Take a little time and think about it. We hate to take a step backwards but sometimes that’s the best thing. Thank you very much for your support.
Absolutely beautiful. I can weld enough to get by with my pos flux core but u would make an awesome neighbor with your welding skills

Thanks Louis, it’s nice to work with someone. We get together one day a week.
You make it look so easy!

Nice as always!
Thanks Chris’s, I’m helping Ralph out. He bought a couple bumpers of me a few months ago now we pretty good friends. VW bug people are good people.
Inspiring, as always. When I am ready to do my pans, I will be reviewing your vids for sure! Thanks again for sharing!
Schmokeshop, thank bud it’s nice to hear I help in some way. If you ever have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. Ty again for your support.
I like your filed drill bit trick
It is a great tip. I don’t remember what channel I borrowed it from but I Agee it’s a great tip. 👍🥸
Lookin' great!
Just got back from Ralph’s. We just finished up a heater channel and started the firewall.
@ can’t wait to see it!
Nice job.
Enjoying working with another enthusiast.
