I'm so sorry for your loss, Yumi. I can see the pain and grief when you were describing what has happened for the past couple of months. I'm experiencing a hard time myself right now as my dearest aunt was just diagnosed Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She's like a half mom to me and I can't stop crying whenever I think about losing her in the near future. You are an incredibly strong young lady for sharing your grief with us. It might sound like a cliche but eventually time will heal everything, even though at the moment it doesn't seem possible. I will keep you and your family in my prayer. Thinking of my mother in law who passed july 4th also from metastatic breast cancer. She was also a mother to me. Just a beautiful, giving soul. It's not fair when people who give so much get dealt this hand and I also have so many gifts in my home that I use everyday of hers. It's hurtful yet an undeniable constant presence of her memory I wish to never forget. Thank you for sharing.

I am so very sorry for your loss, I stumbled upon your beautiful work on tiktok and fell in love with this vibrant, poetic world of yours and it is so very delicate to see a human being such as you behind it. I myself am an apprenti artist, I’m starting art studies in September, my creativity is always with me, wherever I go, I see art everywhere, it is imprinted in my soul but sometimes in doesn’t translate physically as I wish it would and sometimes it doesn’t translate at all, creativity, creation fluctuates within us and our environment and lives and it so moving and beautiful that you still percieve art in such a difficult and painful, yet very real, life experience. Hey Yumi. I lost my mum to stage 4 gall bladder cancer almost 10 months ago. You described it perfectly when you said that it's painful yet comforting that everything reminds you of your mom. I relate to that completely. My mom was my best friend too. She was always full of life, vigor and so much positivity. Not a moment goes by when I don't miss her. My heart goes out to you as I’ve lost my mom as well some years ago. It’s the absolute most difficult thing you will ever face, the most hard and painful thing but as a survivor of this very situation I can tell u from my heart that over time u will get thru this. Give urself time to grieve and allow your loved ones to support and comfort you. Try to think about what your mom would want for you and your life and push yourself to continue to follow that path. I remember feeling like the pain deep in my soul would never go away but now I feel my moms spirit and remember her with deep love and a smile in my heart. Sending u love prayer and hugs. ❤️🙏🏽

Patty-I am so sorry for your loss. I just recently lost my sister. She had non Hodgkins lymphoma. She battled for 4 years. I have been using watercolor as a way to cope with it. I am finding my way through this by way of art. I am creating some pieces I never thought icould. My sister always supported my art. Anything creative. Thank you for sharing .
I've been following you for a while and your artwork is just beautiful. I'm so sorry about the loss of your mother and I know how it feels to lose a parent. It just feels like an utter shock and that your life just stops. In 2021, while celebrating his 51st birthday, my dad died unexpectedly from cardiac arrest while he and my mom were in Mexico. I didn't know until the next day when my mom came home and told me. He and I were close when I was really little, but as I grew older, we weren't as connected and had different interests, but he was supportive in me pursuing art, since he would show off my work to his friends/co-workers and the actions he took showed how much he loved me, my mom, his family and friends that words didn't matter. Though I do sometimes wish I spoke to him more. Both mine and mom's worlds were shattered and have had to start new lives without him; we still miss him and we do share our memories we had with him and laugh about it. I can tell you from experience, grief is excruciating when it first hits you, but as time moves on, you'll still feel that pain but it may not hurt as much. I still feel the pain now. You are so lucky to have a mother who supported your art and it was nice that you still do stuff in her memory. Please take care of yourself and have a nice day. ❤

I don’t like saying what everyone else says when someone loses a loved one. I feel what you feel. Truly. I lost my mom two years ago and yesterday was her birthday. I feel the same hole in my body, heart and soul. It’s one that will never fully heal. There’s no words I can say or anyone can say. Just take care of you and your mental health💗

It was the single most difficult moment of our lives, he meant so much to us, and there was absolutely no warning, no symptoms... He was such a big part of my family, I actually, literally today had a moment of thinking, wishing it was all a lie. He was a doctor, and working as a medical interpreter, I go through so many situations that reamind me of him. I'm sharing this because even though I'm new here and I'm a complete stranger, I understand your pain and you are not alone through this journey. Take the time you need to heal, we'll be here, we're not going anywhere 💛
