Eggars is dead bro. Bout 15 years ago. I surfed against him at a contest at O.B San Francisco. He beat me, but I advanced then got last in the next heat.
Funny back in the 80s i grabbed tod martin by the wetsuit at grandwiew in encinitas and dunked him under water about 10x because he was mouthing off to us old school boyz and we were not having any of that from the grom.
I'm claiming people had better style back then and did more rail to rail turns. Not skipping all the hits and just flopping up and down waiting for the last section for the air. Also people were not sinking and missing waves by trying to look cool riding a 5,6.
