I was 16. Numan with the album "Telecon". I still hear it to this day. Another musical milestone back then. After the albums "Replicas" and "The Pleasure Principle". It's - overall - the best album in my opinion. And "I dream of wires" the best song.
The strange 'violin' sound that starts at 5:09 is epic. I read a comment once in which someone said it reminded them of a weird ambulance siren. Just love it, and the steady background beat that it sits on! Pure genius from Numan!
this is insanely fantastic!!! can't seem to get enough.i keep clicking replay.thank you puresalvation2009! numan is a genius alien from who knows what planet.
I didn't read your intro to this... I thought it was a studio mix, lost or rare. Your mix is perfect. It captivates. To say that I enjoy it? Are you kidding? If you would (or maybe you already have), please create an extended mix of "Conversation"... alex
Can't see why, without being funny, it could be how your audio system responds to certain harmonics, Palmer's version also has a fast rise and fall time, your amp can't be valved!
@@thomasb.4550 Before the internet, I wasn't aware of the original version. I listened, (and loved), the RP version for decades before hearing in original, which I like as well. I usually prefer originals, but because of familiarity, I like the RP one better. Having Numan actually playing on the RP version makes me feel better about my preference. I really like the synth solo in the middle of the song. It's what sets it apart for me.

you can't fault his music.

Getting closer to a wireless world every day
Wrong! Everything has the wires inside!
@@control5835 True. Can't deny connection.
An electro pioneer .
Amen. Kills me most music people only know Cars.
brilliant
This song sounds like it would be in a science fiction-thriller film.
Right? The Andromeda Strain comes to mind.
Brilliant job! I always thought this song was to short. Would love to hear an extended version of 'Tracks' another song that seems to short.

Gary is an international treasure. Or galactic...i'm not sure. Both.
Supreme! 🥰
Original a little short, actually he hums at the begining into the synth!
🥰
Was / Is this the ultimate Numan tune ?
this is the song that numan should have released as the prime radio entry. not this wreckage.
Any true Gary numan fan can see its just loops and trickery. poor effort for originality.
I like Robert Palmer's version better than this one.
"Fuck Robert Palmer"

Late to the party, but Numan himself plays keyboard on the Palmer version.
@@brunoprimas1483 Yes, Numan plays keyboard on the Palmer Version. And yet the Palmer version is better. And yet, this version is great, too.
