  • Pat, owner of Parelli Natural Horsemanship and cowboy, discusses how to tell the difference between a reaction versus a response in your horse during training sessions. A reaction can be the horse quickly reacting to the movement of your hands, or a lethargic slow reaction, and a response is their answer to that hand movement, whether that be changing direction in their walk or standing staring at you. These simple little statements can really draw a picture of your horse's emotion during an exercise. Remember, respond and respect without fear.
