@@GojiKaijufan-yf8hy he is at least 47 years old so a few decades to a century/ies?
Thats the cutest line I ever heard
It's crazy, in 2014 no one had any idea that this movie would start the Monsterverse, imagine that while Godzilla was facing MUTOS, Mothra, Rodan and Ghidorah were asleep in various places around the world, and that Kong was on the skull island becoming older
Sue Mãe well actually I was following the movie since way back in 2010 with the 1st poster teaser. And well read back in 2013 that if the movie was successful in terms of box office and audience, they asked the director what sequel would he take on Godzilla and he said a Destroy all Monster Godzilla movie. Hence why we got Godzilla king of monsters, rodan, mothra, king Ghidorah, and new titans.
Diego Guzman but wouldn’t that still make them in the same timeline because if you’d put them in the same world They’d still be around growing like gidorah and monarch had them in their control so since they exist here they exist in the other timelines in this monster verse
That is the Charm of a Cinematic universe you wouldn't guess anything
I am lucky I watched it in a movie back then ;)
And yes kong and godzilla were about to face
This movie was the king of suspense and sticking fear, wonder, shock and adrenaline in our hearts, I don't care what anyone says but this was the perfect way to introduce Godzilla. The airport scene with the stomp says it all.
If they just didn't cut the fight scenes previous to final battle, it would be one of the best Godzilla films ever.
If you ask me, that one scene was the most detailed scene of any movie with Godzilla using graphics. The detail of that scene must of took months to make.
I think it was just bogged down by a pretty boring sub-plot (they should've kept Bryan Cranston, THAT would've been more compelling) and too little Godzilla in the scenes Godzilla is supposed to be in. (Why would they cut every fight, aside from the final fight, short??
This movie got robbed by those shitty humans
I agree, this gave it almost a cloverfield kind of feel. The one with Kong is like a power rangers movie.
3:06 that extra roar sound amazing
I think I heard it’s a rubber glove rubbing against a cello.

@@omarsameh7103 Yeah, that's true. A nice tactic but it's still a bit unfortunate that there wasn't enough of Godzilla in this movie. But I still enjoy the movie nonetheless.
I get it´s annoying that they cut the fights, in my opinion I thought in the first movie it was better like that, because in the final fight he shows his fire breath in a epic way, if they had shown the other fights that would ruin it because it wouldn´t make sense that he uses his breath just in the end and not in the whole movie. But I admit that in the sequel is totally annoying that they keep interrupting the fights.

This version of Godzilla was always way cooler to me than the random monster destroying cities for no reason. This is perhaps the most realistic interpretation of Godzilla we’ve ever gotten. He acts exactly the way a giant creature would. He doesn’t walk around laying waste to cities for no reason, he’s an apex predator trying to kill other apex predators. He’s just an animal trying to defend his spot at the top of the food chain. I love how he doesn’t pay the humans any mind as he lumbers past, and even as they open fire. Because really, why would he? We don’t present any real tangible threat. We’re utterly insignificant to him, the way a line of marching ants is insignificant to a person walking down the street.
I just love how people are starting to warm up to Gareth Edward's Godzilla. His vision to focus on these monsters' scale and wonder and terror made this film stand out from the rest. This is not an action film but a film about nature and disaster.

Gotta love how everyone's screaming in abject terror at the MUTO and the planes that are exploding just spitting distance from them, but the instant that giant foot steps into frame, every single one of them goes silent. Like like kind of deeply ingrain but long forgotten primordial instinct in response to the biggest Apex Predator the planet has ever seen.

The second Godzilla showed up everyone went silent
Goes to show despite how menacing the MUTO’s tried to be Godzilla’s presence brings in a whole different level of terror
3:02 MUTO: Who Are You? And what are You?
Godzilla: A KINGDOM.
Godzilla :"The harbinger of death. Yours in particular."
Muto: “W-what are y-y-you?”
Godzilla: *”Death”*
Everyone talks about the roar, but the cinematography here is amazing. They chose not to show his face. The first you see of him is the gills, followed by his hulking mass. They demonstrate how normal military arms do basically nothing but annoy him, and show him vanishing into the smoke with only his Tail and Dorsal Plates being visible. Focussing more on what he is capable of, until of course he shows up to do what he does best. Kick ass, take names, and cause property damage in 5-10 minute bursts.
God I love these movies.

What else are they gonna do. They can't just throw nukes at it

this just struck me with pure nostalgia. I remember watching this and hearing godzillas roar for the first time it gave me chills
A unique thing I noticed about the monsterverse is that each of the “heroic” monster are introduced in a way that makes us question their alignment. Because this isn’t a “good vs evil” tale like we’re used to most franchises but a “nature vs worst nature”. Godzilla sinks and downs numerous people rising from the ocean. Kong is introduced killing a squad of soldiers (even though we later learn it was for a reason), and even Mothra were first seen going hectic on some soldiers even though she spares them all. Goes to show the point about these being highly capable animals. And animals don’t really operate on a normal moral foundation like we humans do
This 2014 version of Godzilla is far better than the 1998 film.
Best Godzilla look ever and I love that the kept a general same design in King of The Monsters. Fucking love both these movies. These two are the best of all time imo

I love that they left in that breathing-in sound G does after his roar, staying true to the original (resin-coated glove dragged over a double-bass apparently)
I know a lot of people had problems with the nature of his full-body reveal, but I actually love the way Edwards approached this. It's a nice callback to the '54 film, where you don't actually see Godzilla until much later in the film.
Idk but I really always like the pov of people seeing Godzilla. On the tv or some citizen recording. The scene showing him fight on the news is a perfect example. I would like to see that for a lot of movies honestly
