      I don't remember saying it's a massive upgrade ? But having both scooters for over 6 months now the pure air feels like a massive upgrade from.the Xiaomi. Now when I ride the Xiaomi it feels cheap and clunky. Still a decent scooter but if I was to choose out of the two it would be the air pro any day ...

    I'm 51 and have fallen down the scooter "Rabbit Hole". I've the entry level M365 and absolutely love it. And of course the plethora of "Mods" you can do to it to tailor it to your own taste. Love the content from Ben and other You tubers. All in all I'm sold on this form of transport here in Londinium. Just wish the Government would pull its finger out and get them legal here in the UK!!

    • @darcychu9652
      @darcychu9652 3 года назад

      @Marcus Grant
      The speed and the range are less than being advertised not because of your weight, but because of exaggeration by manufacturers. It's common practice to cheat consumers in China by bloating the functions of products. Even taxi drivers are tend to "route" non-local passengers in town.
      For people of normal size, a 30~50% off the range claimed is very typical among e-scooters made in China. I paid for an expensive electric folding bicycle made in China with claimed range of 150 kilometers(94 miles) and got less than 100 kms. Heed with taking 40% off the range claimed by manufacturers in China, you might get stranded in the rural areas in late night otherwise.
      Lastly, one thing very important is never leave them unattended while charging. Especially the cheaper ones usually would come with cheap adaptor of inferior quality without proper microchips and circuit designs inside to regulate the power flow thus causing over-charging and torch the house. A safer way would be using a timer to cut off the charging at preset minimum duration suggested by manufacturers, then charge them fully again while attended.

      True @Drive4fun! Beats the rest of the competition hehe! Soon Xiaomi will launch the successors to the M365 & M365 Pro called the Mi e-scooter 1S and the Mi e-scooter Pro 2 hehe! www.mi.com/global/mi-electric-scooter-Pro2/

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies 4 года назад +2

      @@gtone339 Hold on the one of the reasons the M365 and the pro are so popular is due to replacement parts, like ford cars if you can buy parts cheap even though the vehicles aren't the best or the most reliable so long as you can get the parts and there are a lot of tutorials out there telling you how to fix them then it will be a very popular vehicle.
      All those other scooters may be faster, may be more reliable but when it comes to replacing parts it's a real problem so of course they will not be as popular because when they break down you want it back up and running as fast as possible.
      M 365 and pro meet these specs others don't.
      Note these scooters have jumped by around a 100 pounds in the UK since the virus issue, which is odd you would think they sell more the price would come down or at least stay the same but instead they have gone up in price.

    • @gtone339
      @gtone339 4 года назад

      @@flitsies True, there are great cheap alternative replacement parts for the M365/M365 Pro but as a common user I don't usually modify the e-scooter but as for performance I do it unlock the speed limiter of 25km/hr to 35km/hr which I was very interested on thanks to the e-scooter community.
      The only thing I am greatly concerned about the Mi e-scooters is the tyres+inner tubes because we all hate tyre punctures and its such a pain in the arse to remove em out lol. Here's hoping the Mi e-scooter Pro 2's 3x durable tyres resolved the punctures hehe!
      About the UK government legalizing rental e-scooters is a small victory for the e-scooter community in the UK, but its not a win for the privately owned e-scooter users. Sucks that they had to raise the prices of the e-scooters there during these abnormal times.

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies 4 года назад

      @@gtone339 Yes the 365 and pro are highly customisable, one youtube guy turned his one into a super fast 365 which goes around 45 mph I believe or near that I think he demonstrated, with a different motor and controller and battery pack, in fact the only thing m365 was the frame not much else.
      As for the puncture issue just check your tyres for sharp stones and bits of glass regularly and also put in some slime should do the trick.
      But what would be good is tubeless tires, certainly would make it easier to fix a puncture.

  • @enam9000
    @enam9000 3 года назад +4

    I had both this scooter but now I have the Xiaomi mi pro 2 and I prefer the mi pro 2, so much lighter and feels more powerful and nimble, I use mine in rain and even wash it with a hose twice a week and have no problems, it clearly states on the the website that it's water resistant with a rating of IP54 meaning it's splash proof! That's probably why when I go though big puddles nothing happens! 🤷🏻‍♂️
    Also if you use it for *commuting" the mi pro 2 is better again! It's light, I often have to carry it up stairs a lot, on and off trains too, the Air Pro would make me break a sweat every time! 🥵
    I just really prefer the mi pro 2 because it feels way more powerful acceleration wise, the wheels on my mi pro 2 never get punctures either, on my air pro pro I got 2 punctures 2 days I'm a bloody row!! The Xiaomi also even said the mi pro 2 has tougher tires so we get less punctures 🙂 I applied slime to my wheels by the way, half a bottle in front and half in back maybe that's why I don't get punctures 😂😂

    Hmm... Would have thought the Ninebot Segway Max was the Pure Air Pro's closest rival (the new MAX G30 LP even more so). Though it's not warranty covered (Pure Electric I'm looking at you), it still has the IPX5 (external) & IPX7 (internal) waterproof rating on the scooter. Nice video Ben but...not convinced by 1/the price far too expensive based on the techdata and 2/the weight. 17kg..What is the point to have a folding scooter if it weights a ton...? The 2 major "+" being obviously the endurance and the tires. That being said, After my tires problems (I did unsuccessfully tried to repair them myself) last december, I did so far 600 km without a problem.. And before my "problems", 1500km. So still a M365 fan for urban commuting!! My wish for the m365: folding handle bar... Best.

      The Max has greater range than the Air Pro, so that's 65km vs 30km but it's just like the Max with 10" inch tyres w/ rear drum brakes. Worse of all the Air pro doesn't have any App support so just stick with the Xiaomi or Ninebot e-scooters instead.

      + Proper mud flap support + mud flap extension,
      + Wiring refinements (inside & outside)
      + More reflectors (front-side-back)
      + Larger & brighter rear tail lights (now reflector)
      + 2w brighter headlights (slightly angled)
      + 8.5" inch new Pneumatic tyres that are 3x more durable than previous-gen
      + Improved KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System)
      + Dash board improvements (LCD screen)
      + New 5km/hr Pedestrian mode (replaces old Eco mode)
      + Dual brake levers (for Euro/German markets)
      Plus, they are also releasing the successor to the M365 called the 1S and a cheaper version called the Essential (Lite).

    Take it from me, Xiaomi's 2 year warranty is bollocks.
    My M365 broke down over the lockdown period. I popped it apart, did some diagnostics, worked out it was a battery/BMS issue. Got in touch, they wanted me to send it to some repair outfit in Kent who have a really bad satisfaction rating on Google. They would repair it as long as they could charge me money to repair everything else that was deemed "not warranty" and, going by the reviews, wouldn't send it back to me unless they could charge me for other repairs or they'd send it back to me with no repairs at all. This was confirmed when I spoke to their office: repair everything they deemed necessary and charge me for it or they would repair any of it.
    Thankfully, I'm handy with a soldering iron. Screw Xiaomi and screw the 3rd party repair centre I'm sure I shouldn't mention.
