Judi reminded me of a girl in my local pub called Emily. Odd as there was both nighttime and daytime working on the dam footage edited together after 21:00. Even odder was no police involvement on the dam death.
"After a young man working on a new multimillion-Lira dam project tells Poccari of some of the dangerously inferior cement being used, he has a mysterious fatal accident. So Poccari goes to investigate."
Cool to see Judi Dench here---she was so young here, I barely recognized her. I also didn't know Vittorio De Sica, who directed the classic The Bicycle Thieves, had been an actor for years before he became a director, so this is pretty cool to see for that reason too.
Fenella Fielding is brilliant; Alan Bates posh; Judy Dench - definite; de Sica brilliant; and the brilliant Schlesinger too involved; me judgemental; I actually remember watching this episode years ago. I am 72 now; I've seen Judy Dench twice on stage; once when I was 11 - which I clearly remember - in 'She Stoops to Conquer;' 61 years ago now; strange - I still think she is too emphatic; such is my judgemental life?
Second Unit director John Schlesinger. Quite a collection of young talent involved with this one.
And Lisa Gastoni - so beautiful.
SUPERR NUNCA LA HABIA VISTO EN ESTA SERIE,,,,NUEVA PARA MI,,MMIL GRACIAS,,,,A DISFRUTAR DE JUDI DENCHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Judi Dench, what a honey!
Yes, Stu - and what a Dame!! She is brilliant - even when young, hair dark, playing much older, tragic character. CHEERS!
Alan Bates, Judi Dench, George Pastell, Fenella Fielding, Brian McDermott and Richard Conte packed into twenty six minutes.
and steven berkoff in cafe scene
VITTORIO de SICA and JUDY DENCH , those guarantee a special episode .
Vittorio is quite a flirt and Lisa Gastoni , what a beauty .

Carlo looks like a young Robin Williams and his voice is quite similar.

Smoke em while you got em. a cigarette company must have sponsored this.
Was the contessa the 'Hi Karate' woman?
Maybe not. I'm getting a bit confused as I get older.
Not forgetting Honor Blackman as Dan Dailey`s sidekick.
Sorry just got mixed up with the Marie episode !
Alan Bates, I see ,and Fenella Fielding.

Vittorio de Sica among all those unconvincing Italian accents... oh dear...

A celebrity like de Sica played Edgar Wallace character. Vigilante justice. Interesting.
