im not joking, i thought this was a video by some big youtuber with alot of views, the quality is extremly good! i was looking to sub and saw only 123 and was shoked by the contrast of quality and effort to following , you deserve alot more subs my guy!
@@ObscurosLudos i agree with bart. anyway; is dawnstar the "place" they have done more times than any other? (arena, skyrim, teso, this movile version, and other unknown games?)
I kinda wish these weren't completely forgotten tbh. If they kept the ideas from Dawnstar then that could've been a much more interesting town in Skyrim with multiple tribes and weird snow monsters. Instead it's Falkreath but snowy.
This video felt like a million subscriber level content. I see you haven't uploaded in a while. I subbed, and I truly hope that changes soon. Your channel could easily explode.
It's sad to me that the other games didn't come with boxes lol. A year ago, I managed to get ahold of a factory sealed copy of Shadowkey! It's not the most expensive thing in my Elder Scrolls collection but it's one of my favorites! :) Also I love your channel!! I subscribed! Definitely will be sharing!
The simultaneus explanation of dawnstar and stormhold was creative, practical and entertaining, like ...wow! 👏👏👏 I had a lot of fun playing stormhold back in the day on my nokia n72 and samsung avila, made me really not want to step outside the tram and get to work...And then it got me addicted to other obscure dungeon crawlers... I stepped into a black hole with no end filled with titles like Dungeon Hack, Ultima 1, Anvil of Dawn, Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder and Lands of Lore, Day of the Viper and many many more... And I only from time to time wonder how it would be like to have a life... I just have to charge my laptop at mcdonalds and go to hare krishna once a week... but I do what I love! *cough*cough*
These games were always mysterious to me. Wow they are bad sounding. But the idea of limited enemies in an area has potential as a mechanic. Wonder if any games ever did it right
this deserves more views, but I guess these games are so obscure not too many people would search for them huh. lol anyways good video, informative and entertaining.
Seems like you just got picked up by the algorithm out of nowhere, would love to see more work in this style so hopefully this finds you four years on! 😊
As a massive Elder Scrolls fan who even likes the DOS games and has always wanted to try these ---- I officially no longer feel the urge. I do want to try Shadowkey, though.
I like the intensity your voice carries in this. Also, it's a bit bizarre that they went in that direction in the first place; it's not like mobile phone RPGs can't be good (I've heard a lot of good things about Doom RPG), but none of these games really have a concept they want to assert. Even Kingdom Hearts V-Cast *tries* to replicate the PS2 game to some degree, and there's some legitimately cool concepts in there like a battle against snake!Jafar.
(Ridiculously slow reply!) I've got a massive backlog of games to cover, just not a lot of free time to make these videos recently :(. But, other phone games are definitely in the list!
@@ObscurosLudos Time constraints get to us all, we will all still be here when you next talk about these phone games again (I mean I'm still here 3 months later)! Hope you find more free time to enjoy yourself soon 😄

I hope you do that shadowkey video eventually. I like hearing what other people think of it. Personally while the game is definitely not what you would call good I was actually surprised that it is a fairly enjoyable game.
I will! At some point... the frequency with which I'm currently keeping up with Obscuros Ludos comments (*pandemic*) should indicate how well I'm doing at keeping up with Obscuros Ludos in general ^^´
Excellent video, it inspired me to try and play Stormhold like you said in the video with your modified KEmulator (Thank you for open sourcing the fix by the way) I can load the game fine but no button I press, onscreen keypad or otherwise, moves the menu. Did you come across this bug and if you did how did you fix it? Again an excellent video, how this hasn't blown up I have no idea
If it doesn't even work with the onscreen keypad, probably there's a mismatch between the phone you have selected in KEmulator and the phone that particular JAR was intended for, so it's not recognizing any keys. In KEmulator's options, try phones from a couple different brands to see if they seem to work. You need to restart the emulator every time you change the phone, by the way.
@@ObscurosLudos Edit: Found a solution So View -> Options -> Keymap Untick "Enable Key Cache" And that might work if you can load the game but inputs don't work
I don't even remember which ROM I used, it's been too long :). I've unified all the J2ME stuff I could find (largely thanks to others who did the same) at archive.org/details/j2me-archive-unified-2019-09 , and there are other sources where you can find every version of everything.
nice, I downloaded them and tried them. I hate the oblivion game, the other 2 are alright. shadowkey is pretty good. I also downloaded every other elder scrolls games (14 total, soon 15 with TES Castles).
Thank you kind Obscuros Ludos for braving the mediocrity of these games to let us know how they are. Until now every time I'm reminded these games exist I have had a minor lament that I never got to try them on my feature phone back in the day especially being a huge TES fan, but after watching this that lament turns to relief. These games sound painfully bad and tedious with very little reward.
If you ever want to mess with youtube's algorithms, i was recently made aware of a cyberpunk 2020 feature phone game that takes place in the same universe as 2077
@@ObscurosLudos Started out as a VERY well crafted tabletop RPG, (I have a PDF copy if you would like it) there have been several attempts at vidya games, all failed.

(Ridiculously slow reply!) At some point I'll do Shadowkey, but the other Elder Scrolls games probably aren't obscure enough for me :). Bioshock is definitely on the list; it's WAY too good of a phone game not to cover.
(Ridiculously slow reply!) I've played but not reviewed Shadowkey. Compared to these, it's a masterpiece, but compared to the other Elder Scrolls games... eh °shrugs°.
