Yes, I do agree that one must be judicious with the truth - and - judicious must not become stingy. Refusing to share a truth that is VITAL can be injudicious, as the price you pay for shock, maybe anger initially which may in fact reap an eternal reward and so is exceedingly worthwhile.

no. Consider a white sheet of paper as absolute truth. A single penstroke, blot or tear is a lie, which cannot be concealed nor repaired.

Not entirely sure of the point you're trying to convey, but lying doesn't permentantly damage the truth. A lie is fully dependant on the darkness/unknown. You can be lied to, but investigating can create illumination, once you see the actuality of the subject, the lie siezes to exist or at least have the same impact/properties.
The nuance of the truth though, relative to Peterson's point, can be disturbing. It can bother people who aren't ready for it. The reason for that is probably not just one reason, but many reasons. Sad truth is some people would rather lie to themselves or ignore the truth, because they're feeling some sort of self fulfilling stimulation from the lie. Which is synonymous with being addicted to something that's not good for your biological existence. But it feels good elsewhere.
