“All the touting girls call me PiPi” is such a weird translation. Basically what he really was “all the older women/girls call me. Beep beep”
“Beep Beep” being an old Korean onomatopoeia for a pager sound/getting a phone call.
This is still 2014 BTS so JHOPE and RM are about 19 and Suga is about 20. It’s basically just a flexing way to say he’s popular with the ladies

You really think someone who truly make fun of idol music would stay in a company as a producer & produce some of the best BTS songs that happened to be idol music? He also composed & produce for other HYBE artist. And probably one of the highest paid HYBE employees next to PDogg, Son Deuk & Slow Rabbit.

They sang this live in October. In front of many officials who wanted leverage over them and tried, were trying to use them even further (the October concert was on SK side to root for their bid on hosting the Expo 2030, on BTS side was for ARMY and ARMY alone). Why? because of the enlistment. The government has been playing with them, making extensions and whatnot to let them work (for SK is a huge advantage). But right after the concert the guys announced they were withdrawing any extensions granted and enlisting one by one as they see fit. It was a really really bold and super satisfying move on their part: a middle finger to officials who wanted them as puppets.
So yeah, Cypher part 3 (Killer) to them all "you can't control my shit!!!" :)

It's probably the only pic of Supreme Boi the translation channel could find at that time. Supreme Boi is actually an awesome rapper. He came in first ahead of Suga when they first auditioned for Big Hit (Suga came in second). He was also going to be in the original line up if they became a rap group but he wasn't having it when it came to being in a dancing group. Suga was more adventurous-- lol - and turned out he was a natural.

J-hope's line is a double or triple entendre. (usually RM's forte but..)
    (1) Pippi is a name of a Swedish children's book character "world's strongest girl". (They had been to Sweden filming their travel show, and Also the old TV series of the books is part of most of BTS' member's childhood eras apparently.) (Full name of the character translated to English is Pippilotta Delicatessa Windowshade Mackrelmint Ephraim's Daughter Longstocking. )
(It might tie in with RM's line somewhere flying to Sweden.. It's is 5 am and I have not slept this night yet. )
The whole line is most often translated "..older sisters call me Pippi" (- as in strongest of them) (*)
(*) Note that all of their parts have this interesting part inside it that is like they are talking to a child - or simpleton -> like some bullies who might be from Hawaii.. ;D
They were bullied by some K-rappers as not to be manly because "only girls wear make up" and idols wear make up. (And I've been told female K-rappers are Good!) so honoring older (=higher status by their culture) female rappers and low key bragging that all of those awesome female rappers would be calling him a strongest of them all - IF he is a girl like the bullies claim - then he is the best girl rapper - proudly !
    (2) Also the play in words can be a "Beeper" the little electronic gadget from history, that was the form of telling you were popular, if it endlessly beeped.. (again compared to those bullied who's beepers would have been silent and no {older} girls would been making them beep - unlike his ;D)
    (3) Waking listeners up with a grude term (You will hear Suga's song where he plays _that trick_ ;D).. And doing it in English it might glide under the censorship's ever watching eyes. (Poor Suga atleast is victim of this censorship killing his songs off the album when everything has been done.)

Cyphers even better live. You should do Cyphers live medley after the 4th one. They actually performed Cypher 3 in their latest concert and RM changed the lyrics of the hook to swear words (and in another song too) knowing that government representatives and diplomats from other countries was there in the audience. Lol. Seems like he had something to tell them and media about all that "to give or not to give BTS military exemption" circus that went on for years already. And about situation with this particular concert too. RM really seemed angry and Suga during their talk-break between songs was savage as always blatantly addressing some shit media said about them.

      I'm still watching, so
Supreme Boi is Big Hit producer so I assume he has no pretty studio photoshoot that you can find easily (again, I am just assuming this).
He actually was Big Hit trainee and was supposed to be a BTS member, but seems like he didn't want to become an idol (there are a lot of stereotypes about idols so it's not considered good thing to become an idol if you're from underground and RM and Suga experienced a lot of backlash because of that).
On the other hand, Suga was signed as a producer for Big Hit but their CEO convinced him to become a member of BTS promising Suga that he would not have to dance, lol.

    Hi!
You gotta understand something: about all of them, they faced a lot of sh*t for months, years. A lot. They are human. They hurt. They are vulnerable. They have self doubt. And as not many humans are capable of doing, they grew. They continue growing. And they are mature since they were in their teens. I cannot think of some American equivalent because they haven't always been mature even in their 50s (and now I'm thinking of a stupid a$$ producer who believes he's the goat, when he's just the shit of the worm that ate the shit of the goat)
So... SUGA/AgustD first mixtape AgustD, deep. Not just a couple title tracks "ooooh, he's a savage". You gotta listen to the whole story and what he has to say.
RM/Rap Monster first mixtape RM, deep af. Not just the title tracks "ooooh he's spitting, oooh". No, that's not them. Someone who grows their ability and skills and fame dissing and spitting and saying shit to others older than them about what's respect (Respect -- track by Suga and RM :))
They grew a bit from that, being satisfied of having said what they wanted to say. And that those who listened and felt attacked, they were probably very right about feeling like that.
Their second mixtape: D-2 and mono. Deep af as well, but somewhat in a bit of other direction. More self loving or hating or analyzing the self.
Rm did a livestream in January 2017 to say he was no longer Rap Monster and that he had matured. That he no longer was going to look for fault in others, but just focus on himself and how to better himself (also in order for those who hated him, to understand and eventually like him).
So yes, they've had a lot of witty lyrics here and there since then. But they are free-er and much much more relaxed to make the music they want to make. Explore the genres once were told were not for them "you can't sing", "you can't dance", "a rapper doing folk?"... They LOVE music.
Some songs from mixtapes: AgustD Set me free, People and Dear my friend. RM awakening, everythingoes, forever rain.
They have another song together: Strange. I know you aren't used to their voices THAT much, but when it's only them, I suggest you use Dial 6137 videos (only the English lyrics are there).
As part of BTS: SUGA First Love and RM Reflection --> Seesaw and Love. (and doolset is required here, no lyric video will explain everything there's to explain).
J-Hope has been troubled, but not as much as these 2 since his background was dance. And he was very much respected anywhere he went as a great upcoming artist and idol (he won several competitions, one by the company JYP -- background on this: the CEO there and the CEO of BTS were friends and worked together for years, until the CEO of BTS said he preferred to do music his way and branched out). So even if they all faced a lot as a team. As a newly formed group, J-Hope didn't have that backlash of being a rapper turned idol. So his first mixtape was a bit more brighter and even if accusing haters, he was on the protective side more than the defensive: Hope World is a great mixtape.
His 2nd one, super anticipated by us, turned 180º and presented us with himself, his doubts, his darker side, his struggles as an artist that has achieved a lot. Jack in the box is a must listen too.
I hope this bit even if long, helps understand and gives perspective to some things.

Yes rm was referring to that triplet migos flow in his verse and he does the same kind of 'diss' in his solo song "Joke" off of his first mixtape "RM", a song and mixtape which you should absolutely check out! They also did a very recent live performance of this cypher at their latest concert (yet to come concert in busan, korea) which you NEED to watch to see how they still can devour the beat even to this day. Even watching it online, the energy was crazy. Try to see if you can find a video of the performance with the english subs on. Some of the lyrics were changed in the recent live version (jhopes verse was pretty different and i think rm changed a few words) and the live band made it that much better. Unfortunately, they said that that would be the last time the rapline would perform cypher pt 3 (and most likely the rest of the cyphers), as bts are entering a new phase of their artistry and are leaving some of their diss track pieces in the past. But i feel like their performance was so good, it makes up for my personal disappointment lol. You will not regret checking it out!

As you start digging into more of their solo work and previous mixtapes, you will see some contrasts between the albums. For RM, the names of his mixtapes are RM (2015), Mono (2018) and you have listened to his first album Indigo (2022). For Suga, he uses the name Agust D for his solo work. The names of his mixtapes are Agust D (2016)and D2 (2020). For J-Hope, the name of his mixtape is Hope World (2018) and his album is Jack in the Box (2022). All of the mixtapes I believe are on Soundcloud. I feel you will really enjoy them all. Their rap styles are so different yet complement each other well, especially in BTS' songs. RM is my bias. I love all three of their rap styles, but more akin to RM's style because I grew up in Harlem, NY where Hip Hop and Rap were kicking off. And RM has stated that one of the people he idolizes is Nas. As others have mentioned the Taylor video on Who is BTS is a really good one and the most up-to-date. Also, check out the Rice Squad video called The Most beautiful life goes on: A story of BTS (2022 update) and XCeleste videos called This is BTS: Introduction to BTS and BTS hardships from 2013 to 2019. Once you get into the solos of the vocalists, I'll suggest some solos. Take your time. We ARMY will watch. There is so much BTS content that you have just scratched the surface. 모든 언니s call me 삐삐 (bbibbi)
All the girls call me, beeper
Original Korean lyrics use 언니 (unnie), which is used by females to call/address an older female. It is, however, common that night club barkers (even if they are males) call female customers unnies. The use of unnie thus makes sense here. 삐삐 (bbibbi) is a pager/beeper, so it could be (1) “all the girls, call me, page me.” Or, since bbi- is commonly used as an onomatopoeia of censoring sounds, it could also be (2) “all the girls call me ‘XX’,” where XX is some unknown word.

Death threats, lawsuits, everything. They've seen all that crap, so first three cyphers are very angry. If you go from RM and Suga's first mixtapes to their second ones, they are radically different. RM's Mono feels more like Indigo just a bit more depressed. D-2 from Suga goes between sorrowful and snappy, Hope World by J-Hope becomes even more self-assured and sunny. They grew massively over the years as human beings and artists. That kind of fame can destroy you unless you try to stay humble and they've been constantly striving to do that. I actually thought Cypher pt 2 was my fave until I've heard pt 3 at their October concert in Busan. That was insane. 🔥🔥🔥💜💜💜

Ah i really like your reactions to BTS. Honestly there's so much to talk about with them 😀 hopefully you will see their live performances with cyphers (and other songs) too!
Also, Supreme boi isn't one of BTS, although he works with them (regularly mentioned in music credits).
On JHope's growth: gosh, he became so much more through the years, it's always a surprise with him. Like, in 2018 he released his mixtape "Hope world" which is rather on the light side, all shiny and hopefull, and this summer, in 2022, he gave us a full story of an album "Jack in the Box" with "Arson" as a title where everything was burned 🔥 he also performed a 1 hour(!!) set on Lollapalooza all by himself. He went all crazy this year, maybe check him out in the future, too
And i won't even start about Suga (aka Agust D) bc he's my favorite and once i start i will never shut up
    Thank you for your reaction!

3:05 you're completely right, it's not. I think this phase was something they really needed to build themselves to what they are today. They had a lot of anger, and that anger was mostly released through some BTS tracks like the cyphers, and also their first mixtapes (besides J-Hope's). RM and Suga were HEAVILY criticized for leaving underground rap/hip-hop to become idols, even though they were respected in the underground, *specially* RM, and that at 13 yo. But instead of starting shit, they would just go to the studio, write, compose and let the anger out in the tracks lol Namjoon's "RM" and Suga's/AgustD's "AgustD" and some tracks of "D-2" are the works that contain most of those type of songs, but there are some BTS songs as well, like the Cyphers, We On, Attack On BangTan more or less too (that I can remember by heart).

@Jurnalist, what J-Hope verse is not what you think it is in English, The person who did the color coded lyrics did not do an accurate translation , (i’m paraphrasing because the translations are not accurate ) J-Hope said ,”all the girls hit me up on my phone,( the sound when you get text message is “pippi” in Korean , in English like “ Ping” sound are not pronounced the same way or does it mean a male private part. Lol!) in other words J-Hope of BTS is saying I am so popular that whenever the girls hit me up on my phone, a lot of text messages are coming through like the sound “pippi”! In other words J- Hope is telling the haters even though you are talking all this mess about me I’m getting alot of females texting me constantly, my phone is blowing up! J-Hope is more popular than the haters talking their s**t ! Well I hope that helped and you understanding the differences and pronunciations & sounds of words are not the same in Korean as it is in English😊💜

Suga is actually one of the fastest rappers in S.Korea. And he is so good live. All of them are, their stage presence is insane. It's interesting that J-Hope learned to rap from RM an Suga and for a few first years J-Hope sometimes sounded a lot like Suga. Now he always sounds like himself.
You should check J-Hope's solo work.
And, yes, you definitely should check AgustD solo too. It's actually strange to hear that Suga sounds not skilled enough here.🤔
I'd say he and J-Hope have more unique rapping styles while RM has sound that you more expecting from rapper. All of them are experimenting with their style in BTS' songs, to suit song better. It feels like Suga has a slight lisp (maybe because of his Daegu accent) and J-Hope prefers melodic rap almost dancing on the beat (don't forget he sings and dance too). RM's pronunciation is more clear for foreign ear, while Suga loves his grit, sighs and occasional high notes.

I adore and respect RM and you're right his diction is very clear (and I said it in my comment), his wordplay is insane, he has huge amount of talent and skill. No wonder Suga told that rappers was afraid to battle him even when he was still a teen. And he is amazing person as well, strong enough to carry the whole team on his shoulders, sacrificing his personal wishes and work for their sake, while battling his own demons. How can you not love him?
What I wanted to say (and I heard ot from some reactors too) that his voice sounds more like western rappers usually sound. It's not a bad thing at all, it is his voice and Suga or J-Hope usually don't have this level of clearness without greet. That's just difference of their natural voices. And RM's voice make him a little more approachable to the foreign listeners (especially if they not used to listen to the different languages). And this is definitely not the bad thing too.
Another thing is that RM was praised a lot in this video which is great and I personally always try to bring more attention to the members that reactor enjoyed less. Because I know that people in the comments will tell the reactor everything about his favourite member.
