Hello, Diane. I used Odicoat on cotton fabric when I made my backpack purse (pattern by Sew Sweetness) mostly because Sara at Sew Sweetness had a video explaining how to use it. It works fairly well BUT I have to mention that sewing with the treated fabric is a little bit of a nightmare - it’s very sticky. I tried a walking foot, I tried a teflon foot, and in the end I ended up hacking a weird solution involving using a hump jumper. I might do it again, and I adore my bag, but whew! It really complicated things.
Hi Diane, thanks for sharing these great ByAnnie bag patterns! My favorites are the Snapshot and Night & Day. Thus far, I've only made tote bags, but I think one of your project kits would be perfect for advancing my bag making skills. Can't wait to see your finished Divide & Conquer bag! Happy sewing.
Thanks Laura... There are so many bag patterns that will increase your skill set - one skill at a time. I have a tendency of jumping in over my head. Sort of - forced learning... I'll complete the project this week.
Hi Diane I would love to make the divide and Conquer as well as the two bags all in the same material to make for traveling to see my daughter. Love your canvases. Question did you say there were kits available in all these you showed today?
Hi Vicki. I'm still adding the kits to our website. Each takes time to figure out and add. I have the Divide and Conquer to add later today as well as Bon Voyage! and Changing Station. [ I need more time..... ]
I understand you are geared towards beginning sewers with domestic machines, but there are many of us with industrials who are not intimidated by 10 oz canvas, if you ever decide to add that. Also, I much prefer other pattern makers to ByAnnie. Love Noodlehead. IMHO I think the ByAnnie patterns look less professional with all that bias binding on the outside. just my opinion.
Thank you for sharing your ideas and thoughts. We all have our own personal style, skill levels, machines, and interests. I'm so excited to share so many more projects and ways of working with our batik fabric. - so excited!! 🙂
What great pairings!
Thank you...
I really like it when you had pictures that matched the fabric selections from the drop down box!
Thank you Kathi... I will add them to the kits again. I appreciate your letting me know!! It really helps.

Thank you for sharing your experience with everyone. We all learn from sharing. I completely understand the sticky... Humm.

I believe Annie's has a water proof product.
Oh... I'll give them a call and ask. If you find out what it is, share it here. Thanks!!
