Never thought id see Danza on here. I used to love seeing them live. They went hard every single time.
true
saw em with the dog and pony show.... lmao
I cant remember the year, maybe 07 08 or 09, but I saw them at Dirt Fest in MI, i was front row and I'll never forget it
Dude, my old band played with them in their hometown of Murfreesboro back in 2008-ish. Afterward we partied at their house, where one of the guitarists and myself talked about pc games for like 4 hours 🤣 They were fucking rad dudes.
All the hardcore shows back then were insane. I miss those days.. damn
Oh my heart!!! I love you all!!!
🤘
This band is massively underrated and I’m stoked to see it here
His reaction to Phil's vocals was priceless
OMFG, you're actually doing this band 🤣! Honestly though, they are an extremely talented bunch of dudes. Please do Angel Vivaldi - A Mercurian Summer.
Ah man, good request. A. Vivaldi is a beast😊
Josh Travis is a beast of a guitarist! And a really cool dude!
If you are going to check out more my them, check this song out. Yippie-kay-yay Mother!@#$%^
@@powerhitter033 agreed
Josh Travis not just guitarist, for this TDTE's album he made almost everything except vocals - guitars, bass, drums, producing, engineering. He is a monster and yet humble guy.
Yippee Kay Yay is on a faves Playlist to this day
@@gish2465 he carried glass cloud as long as he could too. def a gem of a musician and professional
You're gradually being dragged into the underground, Geebz. Much as I enjoy your takes on the classic bigger bands, it's nice to hear your thoughts on stuff I actually listen to.
As for genre, these guys are definitely on the techy end of the metalcore spectrum.
Same here!
Would love to see him react to Clinging to the trees of a forest fire or Sectioned haha
I've been waiting since the channel started to watch him get dragged into the beautiful, murky mire of hardcore/first wave metalcore. Still waiting on some Converge love.
If you want to go back to the beginning you really need to listen to Botch - Man the Ramparts... or any thing from the "...we are the Romans" album
@@stg_tmc Just go straight for Vermin Womb at that point haha
Fun fact Josh Travis the guitarist, drummer, bassist, and engineer of this whole album. He just dropped a song today called Web of lies.
Let's not forget how fucking dope Emmure is right now because of Josh as well.
Man, he should do Web of Lies.
As soon as the music started playing, I couldn't help but laugh uncontrollably. I never heard of the band before today and didn't expect that. Great song, great band name and my sides hurt.
They have 4 great albums to consume. Do yourself a favor. Danza II Electric Boogaloo is my personal favorite but theyre all great.
You should give a listen to Frontierer, they're the fans of TTDTE and it shows :)
Hilariously, back in the day Tony Danza had a television show and talked about the band on it lmao. The clip is on RUclips.
I never thought this day would come!
I will watch every reaction of yours from now on. Anyone giving tony Danza a chance on their channel I give big props
I was thinking the same thing!
This man gets props. You can tell he wasn’t in his element and he got through it and didn’t trash it.
Hey Geebz, this is making me want to hear you de-compose some more Car Bomb!! Possibly "HeLa" or "Lights Out"!!
It's gotta be Dissect Yourself. I need to see his reaction to the pewpewpew lasers
I myself cant decide which I would like to see first - his mind possibly imploding during the time-signature-melt part in "Lights Out", or being confused by the, uhm... creative guitar tones in "Dissect Yourself".
Than again, how about "The Sentinel"? I finally got into w^w^^w^w recently, and while I love me some Meta and Mordial (I wish to get the first on the purple vinyl one of these days, and I already have the latter), buy Im not sure they match the ferocity of the bands 2012 effort.
Also "Secrets Within" and "Sets" would be DIVINE...
And honestly the pew pew song is overrated imo... doesn't grab me NEARLY as much as many of their other songs..
@@metalgt6828 I get what youre saying, but I think that song, coupled with the video it has absolutely is a Must experience.
That said, something slightly more approachable as the next song might be better, I guess.
My vote is still on "Lights Out"
One of the most truly innovative and heavy bands ever
That feeling when you hear a cool band for the first time and then find out that they split up 10 years ago. 😣
I feel you there
Nice reaction, love to see some Danza here! That really low vocals weren't from their vocalist, that was Phil Bozeman featuring, he's in the band Whitechapel. If you haven't heard of them, definitely give them a shot, Phils vocal range is insane.
Oh shit, ngl, totally forgot Whitechapel existed. Going to need to go back to them. DevilDriver too.
@@Suchega_Uber haha, you're not prepared for their last two albums (Whitechapel)
Also Alex Erian from Despised Icon
Correct. In the top 5 greatest vocalists breathing oxygen on this earth.
I actually never knew that, that's so fuckinf dope
Was not expecting you to do this band! Best crossover ever!
Did not expect Tony Danza to see here 🤘🤘
One of the heaviest bands of all time. Love how absolutely intense their music is while still being so rhythmic and creative
Danza!! I saw this band live all the time when I lived in Nashville. Saw them open for the Dillinger Escape Plan. That show ripped my face off. You should do something from Danza 2: The Electric Boogaloo
Oh my God that would have been an amazing show what the fuck
@@ryan1840 It was indeed! It was at this small club called Exit/In. Dillinger headlined with Santa and Mastodon opening. Unreal
Danza not Santa lol F'ing auto correct
I've been hoping you'd eventually find these guys... TTDTE were are a phenomenal band back from 05-10' as a full lineup... this song from their last album is from 2012 where just the guitarist (Josh Travis) and the vocalist (Jessie Freeland) did this album alone and did not tour on it. Josh Travis is an amazing guitarist/producer who basically wrote this entire thing minus the vocals. Speaking of, the low end growls/screams towards the end of the song you noticed, that's a guest vocalist spot from Phil Bozeman of Whitechapel... he's one of the best at that style. You almost had the genre right I believe they still call it Deathcore, although not sure I'd put them there personally. Would love to hear reactions to some of their older stuff... Danza 3: 'There's a Time and Place for Everything' will get your bass juices going but almost all the songs are awesome... 'Yippie-Kay-Yay Mother!@#$%^', 'Sammy Jenkins' to name a couple more. Danza 2: 'You gonna buy beers or the whole damn bar', 'The Electric Boogaloo'.. tough to pick two.. I obviously love this band, still on playlists when I'm working out.
Edit: Didn't realize but Alex Erian (Despised Icon) is on this too... Check them out sometime.
I always loved this album cause of Josh Travis, but I never knew it was him all alone. Josh is truly another level
Found out JT streams on Twitch, here is a video of him playing this song and thought I'd share to add to the post. Go support him!
ruclips.net/video/Y-rP07WJYPw/видео.html
@@phillipscalisi107 thank you
4:48 that face pretty much sums up everyone’s reaction to hearing Phil Bozeman for the first time 😂
For heavier songs like this, having some lyrics up would be super helpful for immersion, but even without knowing the words you still glean a lot from the musicianship. As a reactor, you're like a hidden gem.
Perfect opportunity for introducing Frontierer.
Fastest I've ever clicked on a Geebz video!
Listen to the track Paul Bunyan and the Blue Ox next!
Hey, I was roommates with the guitarist circa 2007 in Murfreesboro TN. Great guys!!
Geebz, you never cease to amaze me with your ability to get into the deep cuts. You are a national treasure
I love Danza so much. Some of the sweetest humans on the planet.
Josh Travis is one of the best metal guitarists today. Between this band, Emmure and Glass Cloud, he has written some iconic riffs and has some of the greatest guitar tones in metal
Highly recommend Danzas song “Yippie-Kay-Yay Mother!@#$%^” or Glass Clouds song “She is well and nothing can be ill”
Nice! The guitarist has another band called Glass Cloud. They use 9-string guitars.
Try 'Trapped like Rats'. It's gnarly.
You should totally do Botch - “Transitions From Persona to Object.” Mathcore from 1999, and still holds up to this day as being fresh AF.
Mastodon - The Czar pleasee🙏, that song gives me goosebumps everytime
I was expecting "this too much for me" but man was grooving from the beginning. Love it.
I was at these guys second show ever. It was at a church in Madison Alabama. One of the best and craziest show I've been been to. Love these guys
Watching you listen to this and try to “figure it out” reminds me of how my dad used to listen to music I would show him when I was younger. He always tried to relate to me musically. You rock!
One of my favorite bands of all time
One of my favorite all time bands. So much talent hidden under noise, poetic lyrics, Unpredictability, and clean lyrics when every band curses, it’s nice to see they didn’t feel the need to curse to make them sound hard, album wise anyways.
I know this probably wasn’t as pleasant for you, but I still appreciate you reviewing the song.
This song got me through hard times and messed up situations. It gives you the rage to need to find to get off the ground and move forward.
You earned a subscriber on this alone. No one gives Danza love.
Your initial reaction as soon as you hit play was priceless.
I love danza! Shocked to see this drop. Made me so happy. The guttural vocals at the end is Phil Bozeman from whitechapel. His vocals are amazing. He is one of the gold standard of vocals in metal. Love Danza so much. They are still in regular rotation for me.
Yeah! Phil Bozeman, and also Alex Erian did some vocals. He's from Despised Icon
4:46 *Phil Bozeman has entered chat*
Not the black chapel, the white one
Phil Bozeman on this track is the most brutal shit ever. I love TDTDE. Wish they played 4 out live...
Love these guys. Saw them live and they were mind blowingly tight.
Hell yea your realllllly getting into those deep sub genres!
I NEVER would have thought that I would have seen this band on your channel. these guys are heavy beyond reason. it put a smile on my face for sure
first time hearing of this thank you for giving it some recognition
Hell yeah! You do reactions to some awesome stuff. So cool to see this stuff being reacted to. You hit the bands no one really covers.
Danza morphed into the band glass cloud then morphed into what is now emmure. Josh Travis the guitar player is the man! Keep digging on him. You won't be disappointed
And Emmure’s drummer is now part of Darko US which is basically the spiritual successor to Danza imo
So glad you did this, I love this song/band.
Wow what a coincidence, just got back into this album and I love your breakdowns so this is a crazy coincidence. Keep doing what you do🤍
That whole album is phenomenal
I was about to resume a video I was watching but you reacting to this is something I have to see.
One of the craziest bands to ever do it. They dropped two albums with guitarist Josh Travis and then dipped. I consider their genre math metal. Kinda mathcore but more metal influenced than hardcore. Another band being Ion Dissonance, who you should check out either the track Kneel or You People Are Messed Up
I dont really care what it is, I just think this is something different and frickin powerful.
Sweet! These guys warped my mind when I saw them live. Their bass player is so nasty. Check out Arsonists Get All the Girls, they are crazy too!
This
Arsonists Get All The Girls still slaps
Would love to see some First Fragment. Good shit.
My band opened for these guys back in the day. One of the highlights of my life. Great guys. Greater musicians.
this band was so underrated. this was also their last and most serious album (they were always a funny/joke band hence the name) and they rode of to the sunset with this one
Man, love seeing your reactions to underground metal and grindcore music
Probably my favorite band name ever!
this is such a deep cut, only the OG scene guys know about danza. keep the goldies coming geebz
love that you did this song. theres actually 3 vocalists on here, the song is featuring the singer from whitechapel and the one from despised icon
Jawbreaker of a song. Love your vibe Geebz! Would love to see you decompose FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY - TWO TOWERS. Their vocalist is one of the best in the metal scene right now. Keep up the great content!🙏🏻🤘🏻
Awesome pick. Love this band. Check out Every Time I Die -Post Boredom or Wanderlust.
I 2nd this!!
Third this!
Absolutely mental, that's what this is! The changes in tempo and the variety of the vocals are insane!!! Always loved this band!
Oh, by the way, as soon as you have recovered fully please check out the monster that was released yesterday:
MESHUGGAH - The Abysmal Eye
🤘
this is so sick. you get hella metal cred for this
Yo, couldn't believe you found this band. What a trip! Hadn't even crossed my mind in years!
I remember these guys from when I was a teenager but I couldn’t really get into it, but I think I could probably give them a go now because that was hot track that I can appreciate
man I love TTDTE, I never expect them to pop up anywhere. crazy musicians, Joshua Travis did the guitars for this album but even their past guitarists all did super weird dissonant tapping and cool ambient textures that really broke things up and made the brutality have even more impact.
Absolutely love your picks…. This band was and is always amazing Josh Travis is amazing
Hahah I never expected to see this!
I miss this group so much
Frontierer is the only band close to a replacement, but Joshua Travis is just such a powerhouse it isn’t the same.
The new Josh Travis single has Chad doing vocals. Bringing When Knives Go Skyward back in a sorta way. And you're right. Fronterier is the only band that can honestly be described as the successor to Danza.
omgggggg yes. Danza is absolutely mental
Tony danza!!! Hell yea dude
Absolutely love this track! The Phillybo feature brings it to a whole new level
Such an amazing band. Danza 3 is my favorite of theirs personally.
That's the most hypnotic riff I've ever heard in my life.
hahaha tony danza what a throwback.
The twangs they throw in the middle of their chugs really transform this song and make it very interesting. The keys also really add a lot to the back end of the mix making it feel more full really fun song.
Thank you Geebz
Bro this band kicks ass! Used to listen to them in middle school
There are actually 3 vocalists on this track. There's Jessie Freeland, the usual TTDTE vocalist doing some breathy mids with just a little bit of his true voice coming through. Then, there's Alex Erian from Despised Icon doing his signature low mid for the chorus. And, as you noticed when the vocals got lower towards the end, Phil Bozeman from Whitechapel guested on the track as well. At the end of the song, they're basically trading off lines.
To give an insight into the techniques they're doing, Jessie is doing vocal fry. The tone he's doing is easiest to find right where your vocal break is. Alex is doing what sounds to me like a hardcore style false chord mid. This is basically the same sound as if you're trying to bark like a dog or sigh deeply with a rattle in your throat. This noise is made by folds in the throat above the larynx. And as for Phil? Good fucking luck with that one lol. I'm pretty sure he also does fry vocals, but he manages to get it so low by creating as much space for the sound to resonate through as possible, then letting it out slowly through a small mouth shape. You also need to put the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth, just behind your top teeth. It makes pronunciation pretty much impossible, but the vocal is so low that it wouldn't make much of a difference anyways.
This band was so far ahead of their time and i feel like never go the credit they deserved.
Ok, I'm clicking on this thinking I'm hearing some beach boys type song and F*c^n BAM right in the face!!!!!
Was so pumped to hear your response to 4:58 part. One of the "holy shit" moments in music for me. :)
This is huge!
So glad to see yet another amazing "underground" band on here, and if you love the guitar work of Joshua Travis, highly recommend also checking out Glass Cloud. Such groovy but hefty shit, and of course wonderful guitar work and composition. Vocalist in GC is pretty great as almost a contrast to the instruments too
This album is just madness. I love it.
Tony Danza is from Murfreesboro, TN. I saw them at my very first live show when they opened for Necrophagist at The Muse in 2006. I've seen em probably 5 times since. I was tangentially involved with a dude that knew the tony Danza dudes (since they both originated in Murfreesboro TN) and I would honestly claim these dudes are as good as it gets live. And I've seen Opeth, BtBaM, dream theater, cannibal corpse, etc live.
These dudes hold up. Without question.
Shout-out to DJ Rock-and-Roll Rogers.
The most heaviest song i know. Glad to see your reaction!
With danza, that means Frontierer is right around the corner.
If you never did Despised Icon , you should. Their drummer is totally awesome.
Are you kidding me TDTDE? Sick! I'm watching while typing this comment
What I find immensely impressive about their last album is that, at that point, the band was just two dudes. One instrumentalist and one vocalist.
Most albums are written by just one or two people, especially in the tech metal world
Tony danza is one of the most under appreciated metal bands ever,. there's so many bands out there now that use remnants of what they did YEARS ago . Also, the vocal changes were actually different vocals, one being Phil Bozeman of Whitechapel who went on to be a massive band, and Alex Erian of Despised Icon. Speaking on Whitechapel and Danza, there was an amazing metal scene in Tennessee at the time including those two, destroyx3, a plea for purging (to name a few) . I played guitar in a band called "with faith or flames" at the time and unfortunately never got to play with danza but we were always linking up with the other aforementioned bands and had great lineups, all of them were amazingly nice guys and have fond memories of a great scene back in the early 2000s.
Getting extreme today, this band is a lot of fun
You did the Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza?!?!? Ok, color me impressed, these guys are awesome, but so under the radar and underrated, it's insane! You rock, Geebz!👍 And I loved your jump when the song started. Not what you were expecting, eh?😁 Speaking of underrated bands, I would love to hear your take on a group called 31Knots. Super talented musicians that have been around for awhile, but no one has ever heard of them. I'd love you forever if you gave them a listen. The perfect song of theirs to start with would be Chain Reaction. Cheers!
I've always been a fan of Danza II, was always just a fun listen.
Hell yea!
Always loved this song.
Especially the guest cameos from to of my favorite deathcore singers, one from Despised Icon and the other from Whitechapel.
I like this a lot
Gotta subscribe now haha
DANZA!!! Glass cloud is DANZA Jr.
That would be awesome, Tony the Shark with a Death metal growl XD.
A perfect circle
You HAVE TO DO: GORGUTS!!!! Id love to see your reaction to the song Obscura... a truly revolutionary metal album and band.
