그냥 뇌피셜이긴 한데, 의심을 의심한다기 보다는, doubt라는건 뭔가 의심은 하지만 확정된 상태는 아니고, 따라서 확정된 상태가 아님으로써 가질 수 있는 benefit을 취할 수 있다 (무죄추정의 원칙처럼) 라는 점에서 이런 표현이 만들어지지 않았을까 싶네요. 뭐 근데 그것도 의심을 의심한다고 볼 수 있는거긴 하네요.
