Can you help me with this question.
    1. Does parallel in new M chips run Arm version of windows, if so then can it run MS project or CADs which are not available in ARM version of windows. If so how do we run x86 apps?

I have the problem with connecting any usb drive to the vm. I wanted to connect the time machine of another macbook pro (m1) to my vm to install the backup on it. It says something that the execution of the command is not supported on mac os vms with the m-series chips.
Any idea what I can do to solve it?

I'm retired from 40 years in the computer business doing high end network storage support on equipment spanning many years of age. I needed 5 different versions of Java to get into the boxes so using my Apple laptop I was able to create 5 windows XP installations with the versions of Java that I needed to get into the various boxes and I used VMWare Fusion to create them. One time purchase of 70 bucks and VMWare is the best company for virtualization although the Fusion implementation was basic it worked without issues. VMWare doesn't make any money on the Mac anymore which is a great opportunity for Parallels to dominate. This looks like a great product that I'll never purchase as they went to a subscription model that I absolutely hate. I know I can get the basic for a one time purchase but there's a lot of fun in the Pro version. Will the Pro version still work if I purchase it then cancel the subscription? I don't care about updates as I really don't need this in retirement but looks like a good excuse to break out Visual Studio and code like the old days.

You can get the subscription and cancel renewal payments, but once it runs out, you're gonna lose access to all your machines...
