Today, got my delayed CT appointment results. All clear, as expected, as the pain has been gone for almost 3weeks, while I have unhappily, but completely changed my hydration & eating habits. So…question on meal plan: I hate to cook. Are these simple, quick & easy recipes? Or, better for would-be chefs into the Joy of Cooking?
Oh my goodness, this here lady has no time for that kind of cooking. These recipes are less than 30 minutes, many of the 10. I keep it simple and satisfying.
Hi Jill love your podcast ❤❤❤❤ i have a issue with my right side in lower back I think I’m not 100% sure but I feel like burning sensation that travels in middle and lower part and no pain or any other symptoms except the burning that’s all plus I have uric acid stones small ones but don’t block my ureter at I’m not sure if it’s a muscle related or organ related thanks Jill !!!
Jill, I'd like to purchase the meal plan, but need to be very low carb due to blood sugar issues (trying to lower my A1c), do you have a low carb plan? Also, do you have a FB group?
Great question! I’m borderline with my blood sugar and trying to be mindful about SO much. To boot, I had one stone 9 yrs ago. Nothing since. BUT, a recent ultrasound of my organs found my left kidney (where the stone was) has calcification. But they said no stones???? I’m VERY scared now.
There are many low carb recipes and I offer suggestions in the note section when they are not. BUt I am low carb so many of these recipes are. Yes, there is a very active FB group, a private one, called the kidney stone diet
Sooooo glad I found you!!!! 🫶🏻 For years I was having, what I thought, were healthy morning smoothies. Never used protein powders. My smoothies were packed with spinach 😮, almonds 😮, raw beets (due to elevated BP), celery, carrots, almond milk , chia seeds and flax ground, cacao powder and sometimes unsweetened coconut flakes. Boy was I wrong!!! Now my left kidney has calcification 😢. Had a stone 9 yrs ago that had to be blasted. I was hopeful to never have another. Increased water, stopped alcohol, reduced coffee….alas, I now learn my sodium has been too high (I don’t salt anything but I do like to eat out 😔). Major food shift!!! I also eat more plant based meals (from scratch) and need to watch cholesterol. It’s quite a balancing act at 57 😅. Sorry to ramble on….hope everyone realizes that we are all different, like you said Jill…and find what works best for your body. You and Jeff rock!!! ❤
Oh my gosh, I'm 57, too, and I got here because I always ate very healthy. I jokingly told my urologist the other day (prepping for laser litho next week to remove a biggy) that I'm going to make a major lifestyle change and switch to only eating garbage from now on, since healthy foods did this to me, lol. Not really going to do that, but wowee, there's a lot to learn when you've been "doing everything right" all these years and you're prepping for surgery anyway. Doing all the research now and appreciate Jill so much.
Love brussels sprouts! Great topic!

It can be difficult to tell the diff. You can talk to your doc and ask to do some imaging to rule out a stone.

@@KaldoniaKaldonia Oh, I wonder what that means?? I've never heard of that. I'm sure it's probably no cause for fear. All the best to you.

You rock too. It is such a balancing act, isn't it?
