    This easy-to-use method of color grading kind off works like split toning in Lightroom or the camera raw editor of Photoshop. You specifically target shadows, mid-tones and highlights of an image and add a specific color tone to the selected luminance range. This way you can very precisely adjust the colors and give the photo the look you desire.
    Here is a very brief break down:
    1. Open photo in photoshop
    2. Add the gradient map adjustment layer
    3. set the blending mode to overlay (or any other blending mode of the overlay-section)
    4. Reduce the opacity of the adjustment layer to your liking
    5. Add colors to the shadows, highlights and mid-tones by adjusting the gradient map

    Instead of "Overlay" blend mode at 30% opacity, start with "Soft Light" blend mode and adjust.

    • @ThePhlogPhotography
      @ThePhlogPhotography  3 года назад

      Thanks for the feedback Michael! I played around with soft light as well, I just love the harsher effect of the overlay blending mode for this particular photo :-)

    Your channel is very educational, but sometimes you go too fast and I don't see what you click on. I would like it if you slowly show what you click on and what this function does. I like to watch your channel via mobile, but then everything is very small and I do not see what you click on. 🖐️🖐️

    Dein gut gemeintes Englisch ist dermaßen deutsch, dass es fürs Ohr dies oder jenes geesprochene Wort unverständlich kliingt.
    Am besten machst du deine Videos in der Muttersprache und du wirst sehen das wird belohnt, hast bestimmt mehr Subscriber als sonst.
    Warum? Weil in englisch ist auch Konkurenz zu groß.
