    the new tekton design is impeccable, check out their new 1/4 ratchets, super slim design, i bought all 3 and taking the 3/8 out first from the package, i thought it was the 1/4 at first until i took out the 1/4, i was speechless.

    I have snap on and Matco locking flex ratchets in all sizes but as far as my 1/4 ratchets go, I find myself using my 120XP the most. I really love that line.

    good reveiw. I have the texton torque wrench and it is great. my 1/4 ratchets are craftsman( usa) kobalt hf and icon. Waiting for texton to bring out a 1/4 long handle ratchets. You are getting a large ratchet collection like Clay Koon has.

    I was waiting to find out what that small head ratchet was. I agree about the 90 tooth gearwrench. Most of mine range from 72-88 tooth and I honestly don’t think it makes a lot of difference

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  3 года назад

      Ya it bothers me not being able to remember lol. And ya I agree. It's nice when working in tight spaces but 90% of the time it doesn't make much of a difference when it comes to that amount of tooth difference. 👍

    Good video!
    I have the same comfort grip Napa Carlyle and love it! I also have the regular handle one you got as well along with there older version pre Carlyle. I have a MAC 1/4 low tooth count that stays home for random use. I have a old Crapsman raised panel that gets washer machine repair duty lol. But I have to say far none the best and most used 1/4 I have thus far is my Pittsburgh Pro rotors head the $16 green handle quick release. I got it on a whim I think eventually I'll get the Icon version. No flex head 1/4 for me yet. I got to say tho I can tackle most small things with the ones I got.

One ratchet that I really enjoy inside dashes and door panels is a Titan miniature 1/4 drive I got at Orielly for like 10 bucks along with a strip of stubby sockets for like another 10 bucks. I have several different ratchets but really do not understand the real difference between the different toothed count benefits etc. Also the difference between the arc swing. Use them all the time, I know what I like but could you explain the pluses and minus of difference. Thanks.

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  Год назад

      With a higher tooth count you get smaller arc swing. Less degrees between each tooth engagement so it's easier to use in tight spaces. Also not directly related but most times with higher toothcounts you have less back drag so the operation feels smoother but the teeth are smaller the more teeth the gear has so making sure it is using a pawl with multiple tooth engagement is key to having strong engagement. Hopefully that helps a little but I'll go more in depth in one of my videos 👍

    We seem to be in a competition for the highest tooth count. Once you get past 60 or 70 teeth, it just doesn't mater to me. A low back drag is far more important.

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  Год назад

      Completely agree. I think that's why Many companies are staying around the 90t for good arc swing and low back drag.
