Francesinha with no fries??? However, you have good taste: alheira is amazing as well. You should try "tripas à moda do Porto". Regarding food, Porto is much better than Lisbon, as in Porto you find the best typical Portuguese food. In Lisbon you have a lot of those fancy Michelin star restaurants, which I don't care much for anyway. A suggestion: try the francesinha from Santiago. It's the best.
To kill some calories 2 walk suggestions: Passadiços do Paiva (Arouca geopark) and Santiago trail along the coastline from Labruge to Vila do Conde(~11km): Castro de Sampaio, beaches almost desert and grilled fish at Vila Cha. Take the metro or Uber to come back to Porto

Hello! So where would you suggest we go for the best francheshina? A Regaleira ( the birth place) Restaurante O Afonso ( Anthony Boirdain's choice) or Brasao Allados ? Cafe Santiago?
I am from the north of Portugal and I got married in Porto. But Lisbon has much more to offer. For living and holidays, I will vote for Lisbon for sure. It become a cosmopolitan city over the years. Porto is nice to visit once in a while. For eating is complicated, Porto has new trendy restaurant popping up; I think you can have a nice variety of restaurants and food in both places. ;)

After living in the two cities and being from the North: Porto is more beautiful than Lisbon, the people in Porto are more welcome and way more friendly, the food is not great in the city of Porto ( however, food in the North is amazing but in smaller cities), Porto is a more relaxed and slower pace than Lisbon, Porto is way cheaper than Lisbon, is smaller you can go faster from point A to B, but Lisbon has a way better weather and the seaside is better ( the water is not as cold and the sea is calmer so you can swim), there are more job opportunities in Lisbon. In the past, I use to prefer Lisbon but now I definitely prefer Porto as I feel more home and also feel like because has less tourism I am still treated as a normal Portuguese person unlikely in Lisbon where if you go for dinner or lunch in the city centre they see you like a walking wallet which is very sad. In resume definitely Porto, as the environment and vibe of the city is nicer
@@br3menPT If you mean mentally by neighbors still speaking with each other, helping each other, the locals as a community looking after each other and simple things like you go to the restaurant two days and in the second one knowing your name and asking how are you and being polite, the people in business don't look at you as a walking wallet, etc, etc so I prefer how it was 30 years ago I doubt Lisbon mentality is an evolution of society. Last time I have been in Lisbon I had a few bad experiences with locals and I love Lisbon but the mentality is not amazing is more individual, selfish, and with the feeling of superiority apart from the people and very expensive city Lisbonne is amazing.

@@joenandamalie Thank you so much for the hotel name. I'm not sure when we will be able to travel to Portugal. Right now the USA is persona non grata in Europe 😪😪😪.
@@linogalveias Yes I know about the Yeatman. That hotel looked fabulous as well. I believe Classy Couple had a drink on the veranda when they last visited Porto. It's in one of their Porto videos. Tripe is also used in a Mexican soup called menudos, Cubans fry it and serve it with a sofrito and white rice. Thank you for the suggestions.
You guys are fun classy and beautiful to look at . Thank you for your videos.
PORTI, of course,
I live in Margem Sul and I would definitely live in Porto, most beautiful city in the world
Porto!!
Que saudades ....j'ai trop envie d'aller a Porto.
From one Aurélio to another… Tambem eu, daqui a uns meses la estarei nas origens!!
Oh... my... God!
That francesinha!
That city!
This vídeo!
You guys... that was so interesting thank you ... I plan to be in Portugal next June and July so I’m getting so much insight from your blogs 👏🏾👏🏾
Serralves Park is my favourite place in Porto. Kudos for promoting it.
P.S. I'm a Porto native :D
Compostu Tavern in Coimbra has a Francesinha with Alheira inside.... it was divinal... i went to heaven and back while eatin it!
Buuuaaaaaaa.... thats sound devinal.... tenho de provar 🥰🥰

Porto, without a doubt!!! No if’s or but’s..
I Don't know when you came here, but today August 17 it's raining like hell and cold XD
We love your videos and are convinced Portugal is the place to be, we are planning a trip there (Lisbon proper) in June for our 25th anniversary, we will be renting a beach villa and bring our kids and grandkids, and hope to be moving in 2.5 years time to Portugal! Off to your next video!
I love arcadia, but you actually passed in front of the best Chocolateria in the country - Chocolateria Equador, in Rua das Flores. For every chocolate lover that comes to Porto - that stop is mandatory.
Don't even mencinoned the "Chocolatoria Equador". 😂 😋 It's almost a Porto ex-libris.
Porto in every aspect 💪 except beach water. Its too cold
I really Love your videos👏 Thanks for "take me" with U 😉👏🇵🇹
You are very welcome, Ana! Thanks for watching!
Well, as a proud Portuguese citizen, I would pick Porto. Lisbon is amazing, you have a lot of events there, it's an old amazing city. But Porto is smaller and people are friendlier. They have time to listen to you and engage in a conversation...
Awesome aerial footage. As allways fantastic video. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.OBRIGADOS Maaaboyz e até lego.
Definitely Porto!
But Joen, what do you have against Belgium?! You should visit, to change your mind..😉
I was born in Lisbon, I live in Lisbon for 22 years.
I'm 23 now, and I'm living in Porto district, very close to Estadio do Dragão (Dragon Stadium)
And I can say, Porto district it's much more better than Lisbon, the life style, the streets, the food, and the people are very different. And I can say I love Porto so much on my first year.
I don't switch Porto for Lisbon in my life! Never
How about weather?
se calhar eras da periferia podre de Lisboa lol
because you are a hooligan, why don't you say that straight away hahaha i believe that only the Porto women are better than in Lisbon
@@VADACHE what about it? Go to scandinavia and then talk about bad weather! Ignorant!
Nunca vivi no Porto mas acredito. Vivi em Lisboa por obrigação profissional e estava mortinho por voltar ao Minho. Não tem nada a ver. Agora com a invasão ainda devia estar pior que no meu tempo.
That was a very nice video
Hey Amelie and Joen. So how was the cataplana? Bette than the mussels? After covid I need to go to so many places in Portugal. I only stop at Lisbon eheheh! Nice vlog!
Hello! So where would you suggest we go for the best francheshina?
A Regaleira ( the birth place) Restaurante O Afonso ( Anthony Boirdain's choice) or Brasao Allados ? Cafe Santiago?
When was this filmed? Because I have been in Porto for some days and currently the weather is pretty rainy and foggy 😄
End of July
@@joenandamalie Tak for svar 🥰
that is why Lisbon is the best!!!
altough i also love Porto my girlfriend lives there hehehe
@@999carlosjorge If your gf is from Porto and you say Lisboa is the best, I think someone is going to sleep on the couch tonight xD
love your videos so much
I love your obrigadinho, magic.
Next time you come to Porto you should definitely see the sunset in Jardim do Morro (Gaia)
I am from the north of Portugal and I got married in Porto. But Lisbon has much more to offer. For living and holidays, I will vote for Lisbon for sure. It become a cosmopolitan city over the years. Porto is nice to visit once in a while. For eating is complicated, Porto has new trendy restaurant popping up; I think you can have a nice variety of restaurants and food in both places. ;)
Still... lisbon can't offer you the real portugal😬 if you want cosmopolitan life go live in NY🤭
@@zeze3125
What is the real Portugal? There are other cosmpolitan cities in the world than New York. And I didn't say where I live lol
I eat one yesterday at Santa Francesinha in Porto
Nice video as usual but as I said last week you should visit the upper Douro from Régua till the end of it in Portugal. That is a whole new unforgettable experience.
I have a question - did you have trouble flying your drone in Porto? We almost lost it because of the seagulls 😄
those seagulls bastards think drones are food :D
paulo r q they really do. We had a hard time filming there, but we risked it and luckily we still own the drone :)
Same 😅
@@familyontherun
there have been reports on attacks on children by them. Iker Casillas the famous keeper had luck only lost track on his fresh cheese :)

paulo r q that is crazy! How did he capture the picture like that?!
Francesinhas are very good in so many places in Porto, in this case they went to CUFRA in Boavista (Porto).
In the surroundings of Porto you can eat to a very good Francesinha, you just need to know where.
When do you come to Braga?
congrats for the good job i love your chanel and im portuguese you need to go city name Tomar city is very nice city for visit and is one hour from lisbon
Joen, it’s like eating and flossing at the same time. Lmao. Great video as usual. Keep safe and please, keep those videos coming guys. Lots of love from Canada.
:)
De certa forma sim.
Obrigadinho ;)
Porto mentality seems Lisbon 30 years ago
@@br3menPT Your comment states otherwise. Only a small minded individual would think that.
@@Davidian8001 yeah right..Keep crying :)
