Cummins has once again proved once again what a superb captain he is. He goes about his business in a calm and nonchalant manner and gets the job done. I still think KKR may be favorites but won't be surprised if Cummins pulls off yet another magic. I was surprised how effectively they negated Ashwin and Chalal which proved to be a huge difference compared to how effective SRH spinners were. I too agree with PDogg's analysis, RR didn't deserve to go to finals. The best 2 teams have reached the finals.

If the day is not too warm then dew point will be low and temperature won't go down to that point to form dew. Hot day and cold night cause this, especially when its close the seashore, temperature goes high durimg the day and drops in the evening.
Sunday 38° is the max during the day time and 32/33° during the evening. If it drops below 30 or goes above 39 then dew will form. Its in the edge as per current prediction.

Usually in events of stronger winds and hotter temperatures, there is no dew. If there is a drop in temperature to the dew point.. there will be dew. If the temperature stays above the dew point, or if there is too much wind, the mixing of a lot of differential amounts of water vapour occurs due to different layers of the air mixing and there will not be any dew. Today it was both hot and windy which is why there was no dew. Similar conditions r expected in the final. Therefore.. team to win toss should bat first

I am mechanical engineer .we use psychometric chart to calculate dew point temperature and in thermodynamics we have problems where we calculate dew point temperature and humidity etc .A engineer can understand this not weatherman.When temperature is above avg Temperature hovering around 40 ° and there is rapid decline in temp in eve there will be dew and for past week there is rains in chennai .Hence there was no excessive heat for past week nor there is rapid drop in temperature hence no chance dew.Simple it's not due to cyclone or wind as someone thinks it's about ability of air hold moisture and rapid high temp and rapid drop temp affects dew.

Cummins is really lucky. This is the first match in chepak with no dew. His initial thoughts was to just cross 4 overs with others spinners like abishek shahbaz etc. But second innings became spinner friendly as pitch oldened,like everytime chepak did, and once cummins found out he used his spin resources correctly. If rutu was there he would have given it to tushar shardul again and will be choked

I Just noticed that ever since qualifiers were introduced in ipl in 2012, it has always been the team that won the qualfier1 that went on to win the title. This rule was broken only times. 2 of 3 times the looser of qualifier 1 went on to win the title. If it is hot during the day and the temperature drastically drops during the night or the twilight period.. we can expect dew later in the evening.
If the weather all through the day is cloudy and the temperature is in mid 30s and by night it becomes breezy due to sea breeze and the temperature drops is only 4-5 degrees.. we will feel sticky due to humidity. But there won't be dew.

Abhishek sharma needs to calm down. He's an excellent talent, but Yuvaraj Singh is correct. He needs to adapt to the pitch and bowlers. There is no way you can hit 15-20 runs per over in Chennai wicket with quality bowlers and get way. In Bangalore wicket, he can blindly swing and get away. In chennai wickets, you need to adapt. Look how Head and Klassen played.
