  • Continuing to examine the size, strength, and capabilities of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, I think it’s finally time to take a deep dive into its Air Force. This relatively small branch of Lithuania’s defence forces has changed a little bit in recent years- and will soon change further with the addition of new UH-60M black hawk helicopters.

those L-410 planes are super cool!! Old, Czech tech, but modernize the avionics and add the right navs/radios, and they are some of the coolest turboprops, in ny opinion. We never get to see them here in the USA - maybe that's why they are cool to me: the rarity and overall "oddness" of them, but for (some of) us American av-geeks, the old Soviet era aircraft are the coolest! Would love to fly one one day, but I probably will never even see one in real life (just in pics and videos) - very cool!

That helicopter you were not sure of has been flying around Kaunas based out of Darius ir Girėnas Airport in kaunas. They also did a military exercise doing a 'touch and go' a few times outside of Norfa and Maxima on Baltijos Gatve... I know this cause the damn thing caused me to be late to pick my girls up from darželis

Currently Lithuania Air defence battalion doesnt have Stingers as they were given to Ukraine at the start of the war

Lithuania didn't gave out all of the stingers to Ukraine. I think there's some stingers still left to keep soldiers trained. Also even if Lithuania doesn't have stingers Lithuania has replaced them with polish grom systems.

@@LIthuanianPatriot-vt2dp From what I know the 1 unit that was using stingers was in Ukraine doing training exercises and during them war started so they had to leave Ukraine. Unless there were more units with stingers or they bought more. That unit that was using Stingers moved to RBS70

It does make sense to donate weapons to Ukraine, but that should not be the responsibility of small nations right at the border of Russia. The Russians would propably be more concerned of the Baltic countries having weapons for self defense than about those weapons becoming one drop in the bucket of western aid to Ukraine.
If this is a numbers game then the big countries must have the responsibility for it, especially if they are far away from Russia and can't face serious consequences.

I think they should double the size of it / Black Hawk's a lot older helicopters and more investment on its Armed Forces

this ain't the US kid, we don't fuel our military industrial complex only to have 50 aircrafts in our airfields to just sit there and gather dust. We have more important problems.
