Capitalism always must be balanced with strong rule of law and enforcement of contracts, but also fair governance to prevent predatory behaviour and cronyism. The western countries have completely failed on that front. We had a chance in 2008 for reform but Obama chose to bail out and reward the corruption.

Amazing interview. I think a lot of people out there need to see this, especially the dumdums who yell "gotta protect democracy!" incessantly. We don't spread or protect democracy, we fund corporate interests and protect corporate profits, while not reaping any of the rewards. We had our trucks, gear and rifles fully ready for any possible combat situations right up until we were shipped back to Kuwait. The Taliban are selling a lot of the stuff that was left there, bringing in major "funding," and many of those who are buying this equipment are militant groups or proxies to provide for terror cells that are a threat to America. So the monetary cost isn't the important part, it's the potential cost of terrorist empowerment that we don't have any oversight on.

@@thefalseshepherd3689 yes and no. All of my unit's equipment, weapons and trucks were in great shape as we had a lot of downtime and not that many FOB details to do. We had our trucks, gear and rifles fully ready for any possible combat situations right up until we were shipped back to Kuwait. The Taliban are selling a lot of the stuff that was left there, bringing in major "funding," and many of those who are buying this equipment are militant groups or proxies to provide for terror cells that are a threat to America.
So the monetary cost isn't the important part, it's the potential cost of terrorist empowerment that we don't have any oversight on.

True, except for Kentucky Senator Thomas Massey. Massey is so anti-deep state that Trump did everything he could to derail his re-election because Massey forced a roll call vote on the bipartisan Operation Warp Speed massive spending bill promoted by Trump. Republican politicians, who pretend to be small, limited government, wanted to be able to lie about their yes votes later. Of course the Democrats are always proud to grow government and waste money. Massey also is totally non-cooperative with AIPAC.

Let’s not forget the federal pensions, Vacation/sick time. Also, In-house settlements on complaints. Fauci got royalties. And once these people, that we help to educate, leave their jobs, they just go to another federal agency, or to a huge corporation for which they helped to write federal policies.
Federal Pensions are actually not that great. 1% of your salary per year of service.

They might game it too like the police do. Wil work/book a lot of hours the last year or so to bump up their average pay so they get a higher pension on retirement.

Fauci didn't get rich on the government money in his salary even if he did get the highest government job salary, or whatever. And, public private partnerships with a WEFer wink and a nod is nothing more than fascism. Not quite. They can buy stock like anyone else. There are quite a few documentaries on this subject. They simply make policy and tug the strings of geopolitical decision. Those decisions can cause those very same stocks to skyrocket or plummet. They know where to put their money because it's their decisions that stear it, they can't lose.

And now I wake up this morning to the news that Trump has survived an assassination attempt. Apart from getting the rosary beads out and resorting to the power of prayer - I'm not sure what the reaction should be.
