    Imagine if you could time travel back to when that battle took place, and fly your drone around to video it, i love the video along with the stories you are doing 👍👍

    I really like your new approach to making videos of interesting places with your personal commentary. The 360 view is a nice option but I prefer the much better quality of your normal version. Carry on, you are doing a great job.

    On this version i noticed two red objects on the hill...?.....one on top and one on the side facing where you launched from....although they may be the same object given the flight angles and camera perspective.

    Wow Robert! I take my hat off to you. That was a fantastic bit of piloting in one flight right around the plug and almost landing on it, OMG.. I thought you would lose signal or did you have line of sight throughout? I've climbed it from the rocky front. With a drone box slung over my shoulder it wasn't easy and at 71 and on my own I should have had more sense as I was knackered and slightly anxious let's say. Came down the fields route you showed first though but it was a bit muddy tbh. Have also gone up that way but wasn't aware of the second route you showed us. I launched mine from that table and painfully slowly lined it up with the hole in the Spirit and flew it through towards me in Sport mode. Sweat? Me? Oh yes! Thanks for this fab flight and the history lesson.

      Flying through the head of the Spirit is an incredible feat! Send me the link to your video and I'll publicise it :)
      I'm not close to fit enough to climb the rocky front - I did it 40 years ago, but no chance now lol

      as far as I'm aware, the English forces were not aware of the bogs and were left helpless as the Scottish arrows rained down on them from elevated positions on the hill.

    Hey Robert, is this the spot that Lassie went AWOL during the snow, sleet, and rain back in the day? Fantastic video, it is what makes your channel unique. Thank you for the commentary and visit to this historic place. A great way to spend some time on a Sunday afternoon. :) I tried to send you some fuel, but the app kept declining my debit card here in the U.S.

      Drive through Darvel and Priestland. About half a mile further along, there's a left turn (it's marked by a brown sign) Drive along the single track road for half a mile and the car parking area you see on this video is on the left :)

    Hi Robert. Hope you don't mind, but getting an answer from DJI is impossible! This concerns the RTH function on the Mini 4 Pro when using it in Tracking mode in a Car. Before each flight for this I specify the RC to be the Homepoint, but when I am about a Mile or 2 away from start point the Rc is beeping at me telling me The Battery is Low and Drone will return to Homepoint, So I check the Battery level and it is at 50 or even 60%!... The Drone says it is going back to the Start point So I have to Cancel the Active Track (POI or Trace) and concentrate on getting the Drone Down, Changing Batteries and starting all over again!.. I really Do think there is a Bug in the Software, and I think You are the perfect Man to bring this to the attention of DJI who simply just don't want to know from the likes of me! All the best, Percy.

    • @WindsweptRobert
      @WindsweptRobert  5 месяцев назад

      From what you've said here, Percy, it sounds like your drone is functioning properly. It will initiate the RTH when it calculates the distance to the Home Point and the remaining charge in the battery. At 2 miles, if the battery is at 50/60%, it will calculate that it needs 50/60% to return to the home point, and will initiate the auto RTH. To get it to NOT return to the launch point, you'll have to do a manual Home Point Update (and keep doing these as you drive away from the Home Point)
      This is not an issue, it's how the drone is meant to work :)

      @@WindsweptRobert OK Ropbert thanks for the reply. So if DJI gives the operator the facility to have the Drone Follow them in or on a Vehicle, do they expect them to just drive around in a Big Circle so as not to get out of range of the original homepoint? I just can't see the point of having this facility when it is fundamentally flawed the moment the Operator sets off in one distinct direction!

    • @WindsweptRobert
      @WindsweptRobert  5 месяцев назад

      When I did this a couple of years ago with my mini 2, I just tapped the 'update home point' every 500m or so :) ruclips.net/video/54XJA6zXQM8/видео.html

    • @exmoorbaydrones
      @exmoorbaydrones 5 месяцев назад

      @@WindsweptRobert Thanks Robert I really DO appreciate all your help here. Just one more point on this if I may?... When the RTH kicked in my first reaction was to Cancel it, but then I kept getting Onscreen messages that my Battery will explode if I don't RTH Right Now!.. So, I had to Stop everything and Land the drone there and then. So next time I will be prepared, But there doesn't seem to be an easy way to manually update the homepoint in the App? You have to go through the Safety options until you eventually reach the 'Update Homepoint' screen, which when everything at that moment is time critical, it just seems counter intuitive which goies against everything DJI has stood for thus far!

    • @WindsweptRobert
      @WindsweptRobert  5 месяцев назад +1

      If you're tracking, just leave the controller screen on the 'update home point' page :)
