I wouldn’t paint the wood walls. It’s such a pretty tone and unique. ❤ I’d just hang pictures and things and decorate with painted furniture instead of wood furniture.

That was where a stove pipe went thru the roof at some point. That is a cover that people used to cover the
hole.

The bedrooms have doors going into the other bedrooms because back then houses had fireplaces to heat and by opening doors it would heat all the rooms. My grandmothers house was like that where all the bedrooms connected.

Yes paint the walls. You will live it ! I did in my home. You are going to have a beautiful home.

I would paint the upstairs white. Wood walls are very dark .. but that’s just my opinion!!

You want “haint” blue for your ceiling on your porch. Houses in the low country of SC always have blue ceilings to scare off ghosts.
Need to check for mold with a house that old.

Looks overwhelming for me because we did the same things to an old house many years ago and lived there for 20 years. Now I’m older and unable to do that type of work anymore. However, I know you two will have it all fixed up and gorgeous!!

New and don’t know. The huge drapes are keeping heat and cold out. I have old windows like that. Looks like it had a center hall . It would have been where the closet was and bathroom was and run from front to back down center of home. Allowed for ventilation. You likely won’t be fine rhe kitchen wood floor in good condition, salvageable to the point of leaving it on it’s on once refinished.

All based on my own experiences of similar homes. Im preparing to sell the one I have now in smokies of western nc and leave here. It’s too crowded and can’t find anyone to do any work. I’ve been a widow 11 years. Im out of the old home business. It was fun back in the day
