Biography of Saint Dominic

Saint Dominic was born in Caleruega, Spain, around 1170. He was famous for his compassion for the poor. As a canon in Otma, he made progress through his devotion to prayer; As Superior of the Congregation of the Congregation, he led very wisely. In Tulum, where the Anbi sect caused much turmoil, he became an industrious preacher, by example of evangelical poverty and by fraternal dialogue in doctrinal debates. He came up with a new method of expressing the faith, which was adopted by Pope Inocene III. He valued the contribution of women in evangelization, so he founded the monastery of Peru so that the nuns had the means to progress and support the preaching brothers. He willingly accepted collaborators dedicated to "preaching Christ" and founded a new religious order. Saint Dominic received for himself and for his Order the task of preaching the Word of God, a task at that time reserved only for bishops. “He always talked to God” so that he could “talk about God.” With fervent preaching, he brought God to the world and through the power of prayer, he led people to God. Saint Dominic died in Bolonia on August 6, 1221. On July 3, 1234, he was inscribed in the register of saints by Pope Gregory IX.
It must be admitted that Saint Dominic was very sensitive to the signs of the times for the Church. On the negative side that needs to be corrected: He sees the dire situation of the Church when there are heretics; he found the methods of presenting the doctrine of the faith less suitable; he saw the reactionary lifestyle of the clergy at that time;… On the positive side, it was necessary to create integration: he recognized the values and the collaborative contribution to evangelization of other members of the Church. festival; he knew how to set tasks and find charisms for a new religious order;…
