God said: I HATE divorce. Anything God hates is SIN. Sin is Self-centered-ness. What God has put together, let NONE put asunder. Preparation for marriage is vital and commitment to stay married and work through issues is foundational.. May the kind, merciful and good God give us grace to do this. Marriage is a school to prepare us for Heaven. Both husband and wife and children should be taught to view it as such.
Have we read the Beatitudes, Jesus' prescription for successful Christian living, recently? If this were followed in the home by husband and wife would the teaching on divorce make more sense? I think so. Have we allowed the world's view of marriage and divorce to color our perception of what family SHOULD BE, thus influencing the outcome of marriage? It will be good as Christians to ALWAYS evaluate what Sacred Scripture says about any subject against what society/culture/tradition says. Perhaps if the Biggest indoctrinator of worldly, ungodly ideas, were cast out, dethroned our families would be better off for it. But, then again. How can this be done? We now carry that purveyor of errors, that electronic device, with us everywhere we go. In our purses, pockets, or somewhere on our person. Help us Heavenly Trio, or we perish.
