Yes, I need to know what happened to Zverev between this match and now. Has his confidence become shaken by something or someone in his personal life? Look at the way he set up his winners. He was legit controlling the match. He looked like he was prepared to become a worthwhile competitor; but now, you don't see the same level of gameplay, strategy, or athleticism. If he cannot tap into THIS Zverev, I think Alcaraz will easily dominate this match.
@@robertreed9818 the narrative changed that’s all. Back in 2021 the story was that Djokovic was going for the calendar, Medvedev was about to breakthrough, and zverev was right behind. @@commondirtbagz7130 So, are you saying he lost favor in the media and that shook his confidence? Well, I'm going to need him to find it again, because this is going to be a boring few years of tennis if we only have one person dominating the top of the leader boards.
@@robertreed9818 yeah that’s what I’m saying. And I agree, people saying he’s the future of tennis while I concur, don’t seem to understand how boring it will be if we have another Federer in the 2000’s without a nadal.

I hope for an epic match
He improved enough to reverse the score. His talent is insane. Also he must have spent a lot of time in the gym during those 13 months. Looks like a superhero now :)
@@asdknjakljye There are some tests for doping in tennis, no? I don't think he would risk ruining his career and talent by using anything illegal. It's possible to build up muscles in a year for someone who has nothing else to do, only play tennis and do the workout. Also in that age the body can really get strong quite quickly, especially for a guy with the right genes, which he obviously has. Jannik Sinner should also build up his body to be more competitive against top players and survive the heavy schedule of the tour. He's also a great talent but he's been too fragile lately.
Alcaraz has a chance to win today of course, but he needs to take in account that Zverev is a tall dude so that kick serve won't hurt him as much as it did on Nadal & Djokovic. He's gonna need to make an adjustment to keep these balls low to mess with Zverev's contact point on his strokes.
Depends on Zverev. If he starts making tons of unforced errors and double faults, easy win for Alcaraz. But if he plays like can, with great serving, groundstrokes and movement, he has a chance. People often forget how good Zverev is when his game is on.
If zverev serving first serves at75% or higher..basically no one can beat him...good example yesterday match, first set and third set he was 75% or higher first serves in...tsisipas had zero bp,zero chances to even be close getting bp...second set zverev served under 50% and tsisipas won that set
And, yeah. Alcaraz played really well, but Zverev also managed to destroy himself with double faults and some inexplicable unforced errors. Well done Alcaraz, his drop shots are especially incredible.
if Carlos loses today in Madrid it will only be because he had a terrible day or injury he is 10 times the player Zverev is now . I feel Carlos is the best player in the world now. who cares about rankings
I think Carlos will go all the way to become the new champion. He used to make a lot of UEs like those in this match. But he doesn't anymore more. He's also gained a lot of confidence over the last few months. He's on beast mode right now and is backed by a home crowd.
Thing that makes Alcaraz so tough is his sneaky dropshot also his complete game but still he is one sided and can make a lot of errors, trying to finish points early. His dropshot is almost impeccable and and he finds it when you don't expect it
On clay, I think Alcaraz is the favorite. If it was on grass or even hard this duel would be a little bit more balanced. I like zverev's game but I just think alcaraz is reaching a different level.
Fantastic performance by Alcaraz 👏👏👏 It was a game on one goal !!! If Zverev's serve does not work, he is not a top 10 player, he is very dependent on his serve! Do not think Zverev will even reach the semifinals RG! The question is whether Alcaraz does it ?? Playing a slam with 5-set matches will be something completely different !! 🧐 Carlos has a sickly high top level, but can he keep it in a Slam ?? 😀Alcaraz will be number 1, that's for sure😇👌💥 Love tennis 🎾❤️
Carlos using grunting as a effective way of dominating like rublev and Rafa. They have to do something about these loud and distracting players. Though I love them, but won’t be watching their matches in person, to be nice to my ears.

From a 1st round meeting last year to a final this year. Carlos's improvement has been stratospheric. Hoping for a good match today.
We are seeing only 60% level of alcaraz, 100% will happen next year.
