I hate it when people dismiss you losing hair because you have so much. Why would somebody say that! Especially a stylist! That's such a messed up way to dismiss someone. That's like losing money and someone is like like well you have more so who cares.
ESSNTL this is fucked up I feel so sorry for you I love your hair ... a lot of the cosmetologist want to do hair but don't know how to take care of people hair.. I try to stick to the older ladies that do hair... the new stylist just don't care I hope everything works out for you honey.....
True. Also a lot of them lie saying they know how to do something when they don't have you looking like a total fool. If you don't know how to do my hair tell me I won't get upset. At least you spared me the agony and money. Some of them just know how to make the hair look good fried dyed and laid to the side of your pillow case or in your case the shower, comb and hands. The health of the hair goes out of the window. Even if you are personally caring for your hair and it is thriving cause I do too, that doesn't necessarily mean that your hair was ready for the color. Furthermore he should have relaxed first see how well it took then colored it. Maybe should have let him relax it too since he colored it to make sure nothing went wrong. If it wasn't a good time for the coloring of your he should have been up front and honest about that too.
I went through literally the exact same thing a few years ago. I immediately quit the relaxers, braided up my hair, and wore wigs for two years straight. I still wear wigs off and on, but as some encouragement, my hair is now the longest it's ever been--and it's relaxed again, too! Point is, be encouraged! Like you said, hair grows back and it may just surprise you how healthy your hair will grow this time around. Healthy relaxed hair all day! Good luck!
It happens and I'm sorry for your hair loss. I'm licensed and pretty much your hair will continue to break. The only thing you can do is keep up with your treatments( protein treatments/deep conditioners.) What I recommend to people who had extreme relaxer or color damage is looking into the Redken CAT line. It's a extreme protein treament and should only be used once a month. Two products I recommend from that line is their Anti Snap which is in a spray for after washing and there is a treatment...i forgot the name but anything from that line will make your hair have more strength, so you can retain as much length as you can. Your hair will grow back because you are so good with it! One thing I learned in school is You can color relaxer but you can't relax color. It's always one or the other. Good luck!
Cyndy D To be honest I would not suggest it. You would still be at risk of major breakage. No matter how careful you are relaxer could still get on the progressive color (older color) I always tell people one or the other. It you really want some color I suggest a rinse. This channel has a great tutorial using black rinse. With a rinse it's only 10 volume which means it only deposits color so it doesn't lift.
I used the shea moisture hair dye on my relaxed hair and it didn't fall out. what I did was to relax it first in the 3rd week of June, and then dye it in the last week of July. I then relaxed it again in early October. I think the key to it is stretching your relaxers. I haven't dyed my hair again and that was about a year ago. I'm thinking of doing it again soon... hopefully everything works out again ☺
I'm sitting here in tears, I really am! You are so brave and honest with your subscribers. God bless you for that! Because you are so diligent in taking good care of yourself and your hair I know it will come back in with whatever methods you use. I know this is a lesson learned! I lost most of my hair at 17 it kept shedding like pine needles off our Christmas tree such a shock, in time it did grow back. Thanks for your honesty most couldn't be so honest and caring!
I am so sorry this happened to you. Thank you so much for your transparency. This is a setback for a major come back. Whether you go natural or remain relaxed, your hair will grow back and be healthier than ever. You take great care of your hair. Thank you for sharing your journey, I have learned so much from watching your videos. We love you and are here to support you. Keep being awesome!
OMG Girl!! You just proved my fears to be SOOO real! I'm relaxed and SO AFRAID to go to a hairstylist! I feel like they see a black girl with beautiful, healthy relaxed hair and they're just out to get you!! You are strong cause I would have cried!! From the looks of your previous videos ( I just followed cause I LOVE ya'll!) Your hair will bounce back! Give it that years worth of rest and you'll be back at it! And if at that point you do go natural, you'll still have GORGEOUSSSSSSSSSSSS hair!! I hope he gets his!! **kiss teeth*
What's pissing me off is people aren't listening to what you're saying in the video. You said you waited 5 weeks when he told you 2. And you relaxed your own hair cause that is what you're use to doing. That's what your page is about.. your length was amazing. It will come back. I started watching this page because I'm going back to relaxers after 4 years of being natural and I love the tips!
I'm licensed and all chemical processes should be done professional. He didn't tell you anything wrong. You put the relaxer in your hair, your hair did not come out when he did your color it came out after the relaxer. It depends on the strength the time and the way it was applied. Every hair texture is different. It's not right what you are saying its your opinion on your situation. You cannot clump all stylist in the same group. Trust me if it was his fault you would be able to file a lawsuit. Store bought relaxers shelf life could have been old, could of been a bad batch thats what serial # are for. A professional would have done an elasticity test. This is no joke when it comes to professional hairstylising. Yes his verbage was unacceptable but your blame is in the wrong place. It's great to know your hair as you should but being a professional and being lucky is two different things. If you value your natural hair you need to find a professional who you trust and learn from not one you are trying to teach and this is in all love not for an argument just facts. Also all stylists in a salon are not licensed especially doing natural hair. To be licensed by the state speaks for itself. It's a lot to this profession. Most of the products you all get at one time you couldn't, but now everybody thinks if you can buy it you can try it. Trust me it's not that easy. Sis I feel sorry for your experience but learn the real lesson. Good Advice isn't free and RUclips University don't give out certificates. All in love Sis I wish you the best. The Blessed thing is it will grow back but you need the right shampoo and conditioners for your hair. All in love, God Bless
Girl why I been looking for y'all to post and when you do it's this!!! OMG but we all have set backs! He didn't give you good professional advice and you def should have waited a while before relaxing again! I say atleast 2-3 inches of new growth before relaxing again! And I love how all three of y'all had to come and address this problem!!! Lmao But you'll bounce back natural or relaxed you hair will still be poppin!! 😍😍
Once you dye your hair, you cannot relax where the color is. That is why you relax first and then dye. Then when you have new growth, you will apply the relaxer on the new growth and within a couple weeks you retouch the color. What damaged your hair was the relaxer, not the color.
Thank you for this information, I’m looking to dye my hair darker/ jet black but want to know if semi permanent will be safer? Or to just avoid all together
Damn!! Your hair was so damn pretty!!! So thick and full!! I honestly would just cut it all off and start over....it would be easy to recover from shedding but the breakage?? I don't know. But on the bright side, you are beautiful and won't have a problem rocking any hairstyle!😘
You should have relaxed first then colored. My mom was a hairstylist and always did it that way. However, too late. Your hair will grow back. I look forward to your hair journey. Now let me finish watching lol
I'm relaxed and coloured! I wait the same time in between! I relaxed every 16-20 weeks and I wait like 8 weeks for colour and I still have approx. 12-14 weeks left for a relaxer touch up. And I deep condition A LOTTT!!! I can't wait for your comeback! Hope you stay relax... I lived for your hair !
You have awesome friends. They are very supportive. Something similar happened to me. The stylist over-processed my hair by leaving the relaxer on too long. I've been relaxing at home ever since. Your hair has always been beautiful, and it will be again because you know how to take care of it.
Oh I'm so sorry that you're going through this. I follow your Channel and admire the care you all put into your hair. I had the very same experience last year with a black " experienced" stylist and I'm still trying to recover. Since then I have treated my hair every week to a deep condition and roller set and stayed faithful to my Dominican stylist. Some advice, One thing I've learned is not everyone's hair can handle protective styling with wigs and weaves so if you notice your hair continuing to shed and break then limit it as much as possible. I learned that the hard way too. Hope this helps and you have a speedy hair recovery.
I was really looking forward for your update after you relax your hair with the color, cause I wanted to get mines colored. I think I'll stick to rinse lol. Thank you for sharing. I love y'all 😙😙
My mom was a cosmetologist and my dad a barber, so I grew up in the salon. I've been doing my own hair since I was 7. I avoid the salon because no one can do my hair better than I can, I don't care what kind of license they have. I'm sooooooo sorry this happened to you! I can't wait to watch you bounce back, girl!
You take such good care of your hair. It will take time but it will be back to its former glory. So sorry this happened to you. I'll keep watching for updates. Love your channel.
To be honest, If youre going to have relaxed and color treated hair, the safe zone is usually 6 months to even a year before you can do either or, in any order. Whether you relax first, or color first. Both relaxers and color treatments are rather alkaline in nature. I too had an accident like this years ago, and I then tried it once more, but after a year of waiting and everything was fine. So i'd say be on the safe side and just wait as long as possible. Only other exception you could kind of make would be to find some type of color treatment near the Ph mark of 7 or even lower, and those are rare to come by. Other wise you can switch to natural remedies like henna, although henna requires monthly or yearly touchups as well.
Happened to me a looong time ago. Right at the line of demarcation after doing l'oreal blonde to get honey brown. The breakage only occurred in one spot which happened at the crown. It's overlapping the relaxer on color treated hair. Idk how harsh the process he used to achieve your color was but overlapping will take your hair out right where the color starts. You're taking a risk dying relaxed hair especially if the color is dramatic you have to wait til you have a lot of new growth. Self relaxers should coat previously relaxed/colored treated hair w/ vasoline etc or get the 1st relaxer after color done by a trusted family member, friend or a stylist who can see the line of demarcation clearly, making it easier to avoid over lapping chemicals. Blessings on your hair journey.
OMG! I was tearing up when you were showing the breakage. This happened to me in college when I had a stylist color me platinum in 1 process. It went so horribly wrong...but I went super short (no perm and a barber was my new stylist) and I haven't went back long since. It will grow back.
So informative! You ladies have help me do amazing things to my hair with this channel-big thank you!! Its sad to hear a stylist treat you as if you never sat in his chair! But in all things there's a lesson! Praying your hair recovers in a far better state then where you started...🙌🙌Latter will be greater!
I'm going through this process now but thank goodness I consulted with a licensed stylist I follow online also she advised protein low heat and in addition I started to take hair vitamins and I would say two to three weeks my hair became stronger and I had three inches of new growth today I cut my ends again and I can feel my hair getting strong again thanks to the vitamins the shampoo etc. just supports the process. This helps to let all women that they are not alone and to treat their hair with care because we don't like to admit it their hair is their vainness and their crown so you are still are educating men and women about the dangers of the hair industry. I am a fairly new subscriber and I love the content of this channel keep up the good work and good content
Omg this is so sad. Its good that you learned what your hair can and cannot handle but omg this is so sad. Im glad you're on a new healthy hair journey.
You are not being messy. He needs to be held accountable for his lack of knowledge. That is the Main reason I don't do salons. Scared I'm going to get someone like that. Sorry for your experience.
Beautiful Locks but let's give this a thought..just because she's been relaxing her own hair, it was time for a new plan, if you were gonna go to a professional for your color then maybe it was time for a professional to use their profesional relaxers as well, in my opinion it's not the stylist fault especially considering its risky either way. when your relaxed the risk with hair color is always higher js. I'm licensed and would always be upfront with my clients that I wouldn't recommend doing their own box relaxers anymore and let me be the one to monitor that for them, stylists are not magicians nor psychic..to be real saying wait 2 weeks is average in the salon when it comes to color, if its not a color that can be used the same day as a relaxer then generally you wait two weeks, he almost was on the target but yes did slack in the risk department
miss breezy I get what you are saying..... but he clearly made her situation worse with the statement '' Well oh that's where you f'ed up'', judging from her before hair and his after. She clearly had a better handle on things. It's seems to me (and I could be wrong) but the chemicals in the box are not strong as the ones in the salon. Yes, we all know chemicals are not good. It is my opinion that I would rather have the less damaging chemical (which in turn would be the at home box relaxer) His response to her devastating experience just put stylist in an iffy light. Its not that she used a box relaxers. It's because her stylist wasn't knowledgeable.
Beautiful Locks well said and understood and it depends on the relaxer they go from normAl mild to super so it can vary..and yes his response is not every stylist..but I got you
@@missbreezy3469 Sweety a lot of hairstylists never want to admit that they screwed up while they are the ones doing the clients hair. Yes! The only fault I see that a client have is trusting in the one that is doing their hair. I been there and done that. I see too many stylists saying don't blame them, when they are the ones screwing up and misinforming people. I know that it is hard for hairstylists to admit that. But let's at least admit the fact that in cosmetology school natural hair is not taught only chemicals. Knowing that chemicals are more damaging than putting herbs in your hair in which my hair is extremely thick and long in doing so. Dread head people teach you just let your hair grow and keep it light and less tension while being herbal. Cosmetology do not teach this. That's why most salons are full of chemical products rather than herbal products. It is just what it is. I say if you know how to do natural hair, you practically know hair in general. Yes! The girl has a relaxer, but even her hairstylists knew in which I rarely hear them say, recommended for her to go natural. It is just best. Cosmetology schools do not teach this. So do not expect hairstylists knows what they are doing while blaming just the client. I see this mess all the time. Just confess up when you know that you are wrong period
ok he said two weeks, she DIDNT do it in two weeks. She waited 5 weeks so how is it HIS fault? she even said after the color her hair was flourishing so this makes no sense to say it was his fault, she didnt even follow his directions....
Wow.. I love how positive you ladies are and laughing about the tremendous amount of hair you lost. You're way better than me, I would have been crying !! I would love to see this new journey you are about to start. Good luck!!
Straight pillow case over his head in the parking lot action, if I could have controlled myself and not swung on him in the shop. I have never ever been to a salon. I feel most beauticians/stylist/colorist do what they want. His nonchalance was too much.
Just starting watching all your videos because you truly inspire me and I have learned so much from you. But let me tell you I literally cried watching this video. This broke my heart. But your hair will grow back and I guess this is a learning experience. I will continue to watch you relaxed or not so keep doing your thing!
😱😨 I hate this happened to you. A lot of you tubers are being burned by hair stylist . Your hair will grow back stay positive and I look forward to seeing your progress.💜 lesson learned . Be blessed
Omg hun I'm so sorry that happened to you!! I've been watching you for a while now and I had to the same problem happen to me. my hair had broke off at the root as well and with the products you used I got my hair back to growing healthy! Can't wait to see your results once you get yours going!!
Daaaamn I’m sorry this happened to you. And my texlaxed hair is a good length and I was thinking to add color but after seeing this I don’t think it’s worth it to take this risk. I’ll just leave my hair alone and focus on maintaining the health of my relaxed hair. Thanks for being open and honest about your experience.
The like the way she says clumps. Loved this video girl & do update us with your hair journey because I wanna start mines again and also I'll be sure to check out your other videos!
My eyes started watering when she showed the broken pieces. You just can’t trust any stylists these days because they really don’t care about your hair and just want to get paid.
Thanks for this video and thank God I watched it. I colour treated my relaxed hair at 11 weeks post relaxer and the hair stylist told me to wait 4 weeks to relax! You've saved me from a setback. Be blessed and sorry for this experience.
Girl I'm going through the same thing I have relaxed hair and it's been breaking, it's been growing back but I still need help. So I'll be watching to see what you do to bring your hair back to life.
I can relate! I trusted my hair stylist and she did the exact thing. She colored my hair with a color that was beautiful, but I am not sure if it was any bleach involved. She waited 4 weeks to relax my hair and just like you my hair was popping off. I am in the process of nursing my hair back to health, but your video was so inspiring and I hope to grow my hair back to where it was.
HI! My name is Donna & I wanna say thanx because YOU HAVE JUST SAVED MY HAIR!!! I was about to go & have my hair relaxed & then have it colored about four weeks later! i think I will just stick to just the relaxer for now. never had my hair colored before, was just looking for something different. Again, THANX FOR SAVING MY HAIR!! Good luck to you & I will keep watching!!!
I commend you for taking this in stride. And I'm sorry you had to experience this, especially after taking such great care of your hair. I hope it all grows back really soon.
OMG....OMG.... You were my Hair Idol. it took time for your hair to flourish. You did it once you can do it again. You took excellent care of your hair. I am actually in tears for you. He was completely wrong. I want to Whip the color Kings Ass for real. I am going to continue to watch you over yoyr hair journey. I applaud you for your courage to share this with us. ***Big Hugs Hunny*
Girrrl I'm so sorry, the same thing happened to me when I was younger coloring my hair and relaxing it I almost died, but girl your hair still looks cute, it'll grow back and your channel is about your hair journey this is reality you have a new storyline growing your hair back from it falling out, I'll watch :)
Girl!!! I would've cried buckets! But I would've raised HELL in that shop! I can't believe that "hairstylist"! I'm pissed off for you bruh smdh. Question though, you ever used a box dye? I've been using box dyes off and on for over 10 years and never ever had a problem with breakage or damaged, but of course it depends on the person. I'm rooting for you and your hair journey. I'm still shaking my head after watching the video.
Happened to me...but I had my hair blonde and then got a relaxer. I cried! It was falling in clumps just like yours. I cut it all off (Megan Goode cut, then all off like Lupita) went natural for about a year. Now I'm back to relaxers, and my hair is just about to hit armpit length. Good luck on your journey honey it's gonna be worth it!
When you washed the relaxer out you should of put a 2 minute keratin treatment in then the neutralizer shampoo then another another protein treatment 2 step by apogee, then deep conditioner for 30 min to an hour.I think that would of curved the breakage.
I had a similar experience with my hair! I got a sew in one summer and after that everything was a down fall! My hair kept coming out so I had to trim it really short.....TWICE! So then I went to my hair stylist and she did a mayo treatment on my hair. After that, I just saw a huge difference! My shedding was starting to go away and I kept my ends trimmed and I stopped my relaxers for a few months and every time I would go I would get a roller set! Now my hair is almost back to its original length and it growing back faster than ever!
The same thing happened to me about 10 years ago, same advice given to me by my stylist. Hair was falling out in the shower and I just cried! I think it's safe to colour relaxed hair but not for me, I'm scarred for life. Look forward to watching your new journey ❤️
I dyed my hair black with permanent color and my hair twisted and knotted up in me (I'm relaxed). I got a relaxer so it would stop shedding and I could work with it (about a month later). I would have clumps and knots when I tried to detangle my hair after washing. The relaxer actually helped but I still had some shedding though it slowed down. My hair seems half the density but I was able to retain a lot of length. Your hair was gorgeous and thick and it still looks good - you will get it back!
That happened to me I had a beautiful head of hair until I ruined it by putting color in it too soon after a relaxer!! It will continue to shed I had to get mine cut very short.. at least you salvaged more hair than I did!! ( I know that's no consolation)
The exact same thing happened to me some years ago and my hair was mid back length also, so I went to another stylist who just cut off ALL of my relaxed hair! I mean BIG CHOPPED without even telling me what she was about to do!! So sorry that happened to you!! Your hair is still gorgeous and so are you!! I would give myself a two step protein treatment ASAP !!!
what the hell. u asked him how long. he said two weeks. then told u thats where u messed up. after his ass was the one who gave u advice to wait that long. wth???
hold on she didnt do it in two weeks, she waited five, he probably meant two weeks if he DID the relaxer. if she brushed or combed her hair or even washed it 48 hours before applying the relaxer that could of caused the problem.
The exact same thing happened to me! Scared me for life! It took me two years to restore health to my hair. I am so sorry you had to go through this! I am a licensed cosmetologist and I don't trust cosmetologist! They can trim my ends but that's it! I have watched your channel for a while and you know what to do!
I understand how you feel, I went to a black stylist, yes I said black, you know the people that are supposed to be familiar with relaxing and coloring black hair and experienced the same thing and just like you I took care of my own hair and very seldom went to a stylist. My original lady who had taken care of my natural hair and also my relaxed hair retired, so I found a stylist that I trusted and just like you, no go. This is the reason I do my own hair, I cannot trust too many others with doing my hair. I hope your hair journey is sucessful!
I'm so in shock of the result to your hair. I just started watching your videos and subscribed just today. And to see this result of your color hair it's just unbelievable. But hey you will bounce back I've been thru that situation with doing a big chop on my hair from being damaged by twist rope hairstyle. But hey that's been like 4 years now and little after that happen my hair was growing back within 6 weeks to a year and now it's back in full affect. Wish you the best and I know your hair will be flourishing again stay POSITIVE ☺️
I've had that happen to me in high school. I've always waited six to twelve weeks to color relaxed hair . Especially if it's at the root . Condition , condition, condition is the key. But thanks for this video
That's crazy! I'm so sorry you lost so much hair and still going through it. That hairstylist gave you crazy advice. Will you be using etae products while restoring your hair?
Wow I'm so sorry this happened to you! Love watching all your videos, sounds like this guy was fresh out of school or he just didn't know what he was talking about! I've been relaxed for ever since I can remember and I use to color my hair myself and this never happened. It did however start to break when I slacked on my hair care routine. I wish you the best of luck with getting your hair healthy again!
I went straight to ig to find KolorKing lol! Smh shame on him girl! I have had texlaxed hair since 2014. Every single time I give in and go to a salon, I end up with a set back. I think at the end of the day nobody is going to treat our hair like we do. Can't wait to see how awesome you get your hair back healthy
Sorry to hear this happened to you. This happened to me a few years ago and I just did a pixie cut and started fresh. I know you will get your hair back healthy soon....God Bless
The same thing happen to me! The stylist called the color a "rinse". I had short broken off pieces just like yours. As you nurse your hair back to health make sure you use protein which will make your hair strong. Relaxed hair is weak and very fragile. I finally gave up on relaxing my hair and will be 2 yrs natural this Aug. I love having natural hair. My hair now is very healthy, strong, and thick.
I'm so sorry you went through this Beautiful!!! you are still fierce and your hair will most certainly bounce back. I will still continue to follow us..... He is crazy because he should know not to use any chemical on relaxed hair at all. only the new growth which is untreated. He should lose his license. I am still a big fan
Now u see why u can't trust people in your hair!!!!! Soo upset this happened to you!! But u now u know and girl u bout to come back better than ever!!!! Love y'all channel!!
I had this same problem when I was relaxed. My hair did the same exact thing! I just decided to get it cut short and started all over. This was about 4 years ago. I haven't did color or a relaxer since. My hair is about mid back length now. I hate being natural but it's the best thing I ever did!
13:13 Yes, I think youre right. He did not care. :'( 13:26 No, I dont think you can color relaxed hair. Because for the sake of demonstration lets call a relaxer and a color equal as far as chemicals go. You would never relax the same patch of hair twice, but in order to have **colored** and **relaxed** hair you have to do just that. Chemically process the same "patch" of hair twice. Just like, over time, your hair would fall out from being relaxed twice... i think your hair would fall out from being chemically processed twice (color+relaxer). Its just too much for the hair to hold up under. I realyt wouldn't recommend it if length retention is your goal.
hi all the way from the UK...firstly I would like to shed a tear(npi) for you and what happened. I am greatly sorry for your situation. My jaw dropped when i saw the before and after shots. I loved your length and it was your channel that inspired me to start my own healthy hair journey. Your hair will grow back much sleeker and on fleek than ever before after this tragic event and I feel for you so much. I can't bear to watch my hair get trimmed let alone if this happened to me. Thank you so much for sharing your story though. Much love x
Thanks for sharing, I am sorry that this happened to you, your hair was beautiful and it will grow back healthy. Great advice though, we have all face serious drawbacks on our journey.
I'm sorry you had to experience a bad colorist. Plain and simple I do not trust stylists/colorists. I did my own research so I relax and color my own hair which I have done safely for years. The trick for me is that I do not use heat on my hair. You have the answers and know how to get it back healthy. Keep deep conditioning and your hair will be back better than ever!!
Omg! Watching this was like a replay of my life! This happened to me in 2013 I had no intention of ever stopping my relaxers lol. The thing I learned was you really have to choose between the healthy relaxed hair and the color. It's really difficult to maintain both, you can get cellophane rinses or semi permanent hair color with relaxers but that's really about it lol. It's sad but you did the right thing by big chopping. Your hair will be back like it never left before you know it! ❤️
“...series of tragic unfortunate events.” LOL! Indeed! I literally canceled my first hair dye appointment because of this video so thank you! I had no idea that there were issues around hair dye if the hair is relaxed. Your video was a godsend!
Before we stress our hair with heat, after relaxer. We must wait and moisturize hair, being it's already been shocked by the treatment being it relaxer. Also, use a MILD relaxer
your hair was so pretty & full!! When you colored your hair I was so excited for u bcause I knew how u felt!! That man that did ur hair is a low down fake ass hair stylest bcause I have gotten my hair colored for years & I have a relaxer, get it colored 2 to 3 weeks after my relaxer and my hair has NEVER came out!! Honey I hate that for u, but this is just another journey U will bounce bac!!! Looking forward to your future videos!!!
I'm so sorry that happened to you, I've had the same experience with color other than black and I just opt not to put color in my hair. Your hair will recover from this, again I'm so sorry and I'm a witness how you took extreme care of your hair. I went through the same shit, I don't let anyone touch my hair.....anyone. Stay beautiful😍
Love your videos by the way. I've just experienced the same problem only mine was after a sew-in. I know there are a lot of people with relax hair that gets sew-in's as a protective style and haven't experienced this. But I've come to the realization that my hair just isn't for it and I'll just stick to my clip-in's. Having to basically start over after so much hard work and dedication to get your hair to flourish and be healthy is so discouraging. But please make videos showing us how you nurse you hair back to health and the products you use. My hair has broken off just like yours... literally a week ago.... only my pieces aren't as short and the shedding has stopped. It basically fell out when I combed my hair...after taking out the corn braids and as I washed it. Which part of it was the hair that was supposed to shed after not combing it for 2 weeks (thats how long I had the weave in). But a lottttt more then what was supposed to came out ...and my hair feels superrrr thin now. I washed & set it, went under the dryer and haven't had anymore shedding after that. But the damage is done. I recommend Nexxus Polymedic Emergencee Reconstructor. It helps restore you hair and stops breakage. It's been a staple in my hair care routine and you'll see immediate results. I alternate it with the Alter Ego Garlic Mask (despite the name it smells amazing lol) I get them both on amazon cuz it's cheaper. Wishing you the best on nursing your hair back to health and hopefully you'll bring us along for the ride.
I feel better for you than I do for myself. ALL OF MY HAIR MELTED OFF MY HEAD to the new growth. I had a "straight" fro... my hair went from mid back to barely 3inches! And NOW I am a licensed Cosmetologist lol. Wish I was and knew what i know back then. At the time i too googled and read that 2week BS. GoodLuck
Thank you so much for sharing. I use y'all for all my hair information. I'm having some issues with my hairstylist as well. I want her to stretch my relaxers but she will not so I have to just not go. I've gone from 4 weeks to 8 weeks but my hair is really soft n fine. I'm also colored however I use a rinse. I hate this happens to you, I use your hair as where i want my hair to get to. I know you'll bounce back. I look forward to your update videos. You are so right so stylist don't care about your hair they only want our money.
OLAPLEX treatment should have been used....It would have not happened. Please look it up!!!! Do a olaplex treatment ASAP!!!! The product is made specifically to stop situation like this from happening AND its for fixing situation like this when it happens!!! Its nto a protein treatment, its not a moisturising treatment. Please look up olaplex videos....The company made one explaining in detail what it does how to use it and why.
Please keep us updated on your progress! It's so unfortunate that this happened to you. I'm dealing with nursing my hair back after a "professional" male stylist over processed my vigin hair after being natural for 3 years and having such strong and thick hair. I knew a relaxer would weaken it, but not have it shed terribly. Like you, I have thick hair so no one can see the damage(we "have hair to spare"😒), but WE know our hair's fullest potential. I'm back to having my mom relax it after extended stretching and babying it as I protective style with wigs. It'll be interesting to watch your journey.
I am so sorry this happened to you. This is really is my worst nightmare and you've spared me to NOT get color, EVER. I don't care how long they've been doing it, I CUN NOT! I will opt for color extensions. Again, I am so sorry this happened to you. ❤️
Same thing happened to me!!!! My first line of defense afterwards was an aphogee protein treatment and then a chop. My hair better, but still requires a LOT of TLC.
I've been following you for a while and your hair was BEAUTIFUL! I experienced the same thing. I'm so sorry that happened to you. You'll bounce back though!
I totally appreciate your honesty. How's your hair now? My dilemma: gray hair. What happened to you happened to me 20 years ago so I used rinses. Now I need a more permanent solution but I keep my hair in a short bob....to the scalp in the back.
I hate it when people dismiss you losing hair because you have so much. Why would somebody say that! Especially a stylist! That's such a messed up way to dismiss someone. That's like losing money and someone is like like well you have more so who cares.
OMG YES! This is exactly how I feel. I was so upset at his nonchalance!
ESSNTL this is fucked up I feel so sorry for you I love your hair ... a lot of the cosmetologist want to do hair but don't know how to take care of people hair.. I try to stick to the older ladies that do hair... the new stylist just don't care I hope everything works out for you honey.....
Tam Smith a
Kamilah Ramsey , yes some of them do front about their skills.
Good luck!
AlexisKimberlyy same here! My situation was a bit different though and I'm still debating on coloring my hair again.
Good luck!
gbritaney exactly! I learned the same thing so, I don't know why he would do it any other way.
gbritaney So if I color my relaxed hair, I should stretch my touch ups until it can safely be done?
Cyndy D To be honest I would not suggest it. You would still be at risk of major breakage. No matter how careful you are relaxer could still get on the progressive color (older color) I always tell people one or the other. It you really want some color I suggest a rinse. This channel has a great tutorial using black rinse. With a rinse it's only 10 volume which means it only deposits color so it doesn't lift.
gbritaney Rinse it is then. Thank you.
Am I the only one lookin for his ass on IG?!? 💀😂😂😂
bout to go look now lmao
Qua'Bayla Joyner oh I am looking for his ass too...
I already found his ass. Its @kolorking
Qua'Bayla Joyner girl I was on Instagram so fast looking his page up 😂
So sorry this happened to you. Thanks for your bravery in sharing. Your hair still looks great and your still my hair mentor. :)
this is why people stop going to the salon cause these stylist just worried about money and not the customer
Exactly!
Yep SMH
she didnt go to the salon she did this herself
I started watching this page because I'm going back to relaxers after 4 years of being natural and I love the tips!
im back to relaxing. and this is my go-to tips page!
I knowwwwww, girl! I definitely learned my lesson. But this bounce back bout to be righttttt 😏
This is definitely a must know for everyone, natural and relaxed.
Does it always work ?
It's because your hair is now double processed. It is best to wait for 2 weeks after you relax to color your hair.
I love y'all 😙😙
Yes, don't risk it! lol
Wht rise do u use?
Yes. Stick to rinse,
My mom was a cosmetologist and my dad a barber, so I grew up in the salon.
His nonchalance was too much.
vaphillips76 straight pillow case action...best line ever😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah! A lot of them do what they want and never do what you say at all.
😂😂😂😂😂💯💯💯💯
Your first sentence!! 😂😂😂😂😂@ Viper
I'm so sorry luv...please continue to show us this journey bc we love you we're here for you!
The phone was kinda distracting..like if you can't make it just be in the next video girl lol.
Lmaooooo thanks for the honest feedback
Girrrl I'm so sorry, the same thing happened to me when I was younger coloring my hair and relaxing it I almost died, but girl your hair still looks cute, it'll grow back and your channel is about your hair journey this is reality you have a new storyline growing your hair back from it falling out, I'll watch :)
Thank you, girl. I was so embarrassed but hey, thats why they call it a journey lol.... Thanks for the support! 😊
I would suggest a semi-permanent colour wax. You just apply it to any hair texture and it lasts until your next rinse or shampoo.
My heart is literally breaking for your hair 😢 But you know how it is. It will bounce back and in a year your hair will be flourishing.
I really can appreciate and respect how you are handling this 🤗 I wish you so much luck with your hair!!
So sorry for the loss of your crown... saving grace is, as you said, it'll grow back. All the best!
I really think the biggest problem was when you chose to relax your own hair AFTER the color. some products/chemicals just don't mix
what the hell. u asked him how long. he said two weeks. then told u thats where u messed up. after his ass was the one who gave u advice to wait that long. wth???
That's the type of people, know that they are wrong, but are ignorant and refused to admit it.
hold on she didnt do it in two weeks, she waited five, he probably meant two weeks if he DID the relaxer. if she brushed or combed her hair or even washed it 48 hours before applying the relaxer that could of caused the problem.
Small setback for a MAJOR comeback! Sorry this happened but can't wait to see your long full healthy hair again soon. You got it!!! 💛
If you do black tea rinses before you wash your hair it will help with the shedding. Just keep doing the rinses until it stops.
Don't give up my dear!! Your hair will grow back!! Love you Aliyah!!xox 😘😚
I am still a big fan
follow you. this phone lol
13:26 No, I dont think you can color relaxed hair.
Bruhhh my mouth dropped when i saw that ball of hair
hi all the way from the UK...firstly I would like to shed a tear(npi) for you and what happened.
Thank you for the update! Yeah every time I go to a stylist (unless I'm paying a ton if money), I regret it.
I relaxed my colored hair 5 months later and it did the same thing! 😔 Lesson learned! Been natural for a year ready to relax again!
I have been wearing a relaxer and color for 30 years but I did not blow dry or flat iron my hair.
I have been wearing a relaxer and color for 30 years but I did not blow dry or flat iron my hair.
Looking forward to your future videos!!!
what hair colour do you use
Dang! I'm impressed you held it together after he said what he did. I look forward to seeing how you get your healthy back! 😍
I'm sorry about this! Your hair cut is beautiful though and it looks great on you!
I agree. She could still use the treatment
Girl I'm mad for you! Thank you for sharing your experience. This will definitely help a lot of folks in the future.
Ooooooooh girl I'm so sorry! Your hair was so pretty! Yes you're right hair will always grow back! Happy growing 👍🏿
Even though this situation is so unfortunate, I will say I wish you could show this side of you more! Very passionate!
