      Because she probably has postnatal depression. She wouldn't ever be convicted, heck even if she murdered her child it would be hard pressed to get someone convicted if they suffer from such illness.
      I've seen a cheerful mom with a lively God loving spirit wither away when she had it. Her husband got help and nothing happened to the kids. But her second pregnancy/birth triggered it. She turned into a shell of her former self. I've never seen a person change that much just from that. It's really no joke. And left alone with their child yeah. The worst can happen. Best is indeed to not let a woman who suffers from post natal near the children. But prison or never see the kids no. That's wrong.
      Nobody should ever go through that tbh.

      I totally a hundred percent agree. They bring children into the world just to be angry at the child/baby for doing what babies are supposed to do??? Wtf do these parents expect. There is no way people at this point don't know how much work a child is every day, or that the other parent could decide to break up or cheat or whatever and that is not the child's fault. People need to get over their stupid egos and love their children no matter what else is going on in their relationship with the other parent. @ChrisAndCats 3 месяца назад +18

      @6ngelic yes - there's a difference between regular post partum depression, where someone would never dream of hurting their child and the more severe form, puerperal psychosis, where the mother is a danger to themselves and the child/ren, but many don't even know they are ill. It's treated as a medical emergency in the UK and inpatient care can be required, usually with the child. It often needs those around the mother to recognise it, ie the child's father or a wider relative like grandparents. People don't understand the difference between the two types.

    • @dgray3771
      @dgray3771 3 месяца назад +21

      It's a wee bit more complicated than that. Some women get severe depression after a child is born and doesn't even have to be the first child. It's a hormonal thing. I knew a couple that went through this it nearly broke their marriage. She got admitted to a mental hospital for having thoughts of taking the lives of their kids. No joke. Men do not suddenly develop such things, though head trauma could alter someone. But that's about it. It does not excuse her. But maybe someone should have caught up on it that she was depressed. The sad thing is that the kids are the biggest victims in this btw.

    W dad and grandpa! That lil baby is so lucky to have them. Mom needs MAJOR help...postpartum rage and depression are terrible but abuse is abuse and a 2 month old doesn't deserve to be hit.

  • @charlotte20217
    @charlotte20217 3 месяца назад +6

    My mom had schizophrenia and she never EVER hit us or hurt us, this isn't just a mental disorder sounds maybe postpartum rage, but I've never seen a case like this it honestly sickens me, a mother is a baby's safe space to betray that trust, well that's a bond that's forever broken.

      From case studies , yup moms with postnatal depression /postpartum can hurt their children. It's not something that should be taken lightly.
      Worst has happened due to it. People should be openminded about everything regarding children. And regular visits with consultant in my country are pretty much mandatory. People learn about what's needed to take care. And some monitoring is taking place.

      Yes this is what I said! I think it was post partum psychosis. Her dad was amazing saying he’s not going to abandon her or degrade her but still holding her accountable and making her face what she did. The first step in processing grief (which she is clearly grieving because she knows she did this to her child) is denial. He made it clear that she needs to stop denying what she did and face it

    14:15 there’s no coming back from this because that child will grow up and see this. Her child is going to look at her as the one who beat them when they were defenseless. She can try but that child is not going to look at her the same. Why should people continue to have those who abused them in their lives? Mother or not.

I NEVER hurt my child. i went to a voluntary 24 hour psyche hold because my dr at the time didnt take me serious so i went to the ER. I got a new doctor and got put on medication. I get the worst of it but id rather walk in front of a bus than hurt my kids.

    I had depression while pregnant with my second due to the stress with everything going on and this was during Covid. After I gave birth I had post partum and I was sleeping a lot. I still managed to take care of my child. The people that was in my life at the time, told me to get over it or we will get custody of him. I had to remove myself from them people because they wasn’t helping. I’m grateful my mom and sister help me get help fully. It’s better to say you need help instead of saying you don’t.
