- Update: the stutters are gone now: • DCS World • Low Perfor...
It looks cool and all but this is basically unplayable from that view... the game runs pretty good otherwise.
Also apparently you can adjust ship's lights, steer and adjust speed with the control panel but it didn't worked for me.
My specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K @stock speed (3,5GHz boosts to 3,9GHz)
GPU: RTX 4060
RAM: 16GB DDR4
STORAGE: DCS running from NVMe SSD
fixed-size 32GB swap file on NVMe SSD for MP stability
More DCS:
• DCS World

I sorted this out, it's not my PC fault, video showcasing results of the fix: ruclips.net/video/wLkxJN3QZeI/видео.html
Thanks for the solution. I have the same problem with my hornet. But it's fine again. Thanks.
Meanwhile, the 200GB update destroys my German Telekom bamboo land line.
oh crap 🤯😂
200??
@@FabrizioGalbiati72 I heard from someone else that they had a 260GB update... I do have all the maps and the modules, though, but not all campaigns and no Garmin thing.
I have most of them and downloaded some 25 gb
How long does this take to download on dialup?
This business will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it
Now it's up to you, Charlie, but you might consider cuttin' the kid a little slack...
Lmao
Just make sure you finish your coffee before Maverick shows up.
Made my day! :D
i would just place AI to do their thing while i'm sitting here doing absolutely while having my coffee enjoying the busy deck scene
This new place is gonna look insane on your cinematics 🔥
They did it very smart adding the sound from real carrier, else it would be odd staying there. It feels like its going something on, very nicely done ...
It wasn't the AirBoss deck that broke the PC, but the ceiling fan in the cabin :D
Well, CLEARLY it's the hyper-accurate microwave modelling causing the issue.
I'd stack up a couple of AI launches and catches, get a nice drink and chill in VR watching the show. But that's just me.
Same here. 😂
My head starts to spin after watching the first minute of the video.
This update wrecked my DCS. so laggy now in places I wasn't ever even lagging.
Same. And don't get me started with the atrocious dynamic slots.
amazing
Microwave in Early Access?
man i tried falcon BMS today and i know its old and doesnt look anywhere as good as DCS but holy shit the peformance was like being able to breath again after being sick. DCS really needs to get their shit together even with a very powerful computer like mine the game still feels like shit, MP is the worst
Yeah, BMS runs great, no stutters, perfeclty fluid. I'm waiting for the 4.38 update which will being new terrain engine. The only part that I don't like in BMS is the transition from day to night after sun goes below horizon. The colors feels off. But frankly DCS is also not stellar in those conditions. Currently MSFS2020 models this the best.
dude its a 20+ yr old game....no shit it runs good on newer PCs. if you have a potatto for a PC, turn DCS all of the way down, you get good performance and looks lightyears ahead of BMS.
@rewmeister Hi!
Lightyears?

ruclips.net/video/7q_R2P5cxW4/видео.html
...
However, between both AIs, ATC, EW, AAR physics, ... etc ... agree on the "light-years". 🙂
Kind regards.
@@rewmeister i literally said the same thing you said on your comment lol, try reading.
What's your spec? I just tested on enigmas with 5700x3d, 5700xt, 32GB RAM @ 3440 x 1440 and was achieving steady 75fps on med/high.
The lag is being caused by the polling rate of your cursor. Try to go into your mouse driver program (like if you use a razor mouse, razor synapse), and decrease the polling rate from 1000 to 250. Notice how the game doesn’t lag if you don’t move your mouse.
It's not that, I already found a workaround, will post a video soon.
it works for me
all you have to do is once you want to add the carrier just tick on airboss and lso and it will work
So it's set in the mission editor?
@@damsonn yes
@@fighterjetshq9299 awesome, ty. That is what I was missing too.
i would HIGHLY recommend adding more RAM, 16GB is realistically low for DCS. I started with 16GB, went to 32GB, and just went to 64GB. 64GB is where it's at for RAM in DCS in my opinion. Saw a pretty significant performance increase each time I upgraded my RAM
Good excuse to upgrade the PC!
For reference I have:
Ryzen 75800X
Asus TUF Gaming OC RTX 3080 10GB
64GB RAM
DCS installed on an Nvme Samsung 980 Pro
Geez I thought it was only me having this issue. Studdering a bit, then when I play back to record the flight with OBS, hangs up and freezes for several seconds and sometimes longer. Using RTX 3080 with 64GB ram. Frustrating.
first, you need to hhave airboss and LSO actually checked as a role in Mission Editor
and you have to press left alt c to bring up the cursor
This is happening to me as well while live streaming and just training. Not sure why they did but it has messed things up good.
If I select Airboss as an option in mission editor… it crashes my PC.
ED is making the game more difficult to play...hey Waggs we dont have NASA budget to update our pc..you focused on things that killed the pleasure to play a flight simulator...
Yeah they royally screwed the pooch with this one. And it's also like I'm pretty sure noone in the community asked for this
I'd like to test this. It's MP or a SP mission?
@@SkyCaptainITA SP
Your RAM is pretty well. But thats just me.
I run 64GB ram and rarely have any issues.
Is 64 needed, probably not. But thats the point. Having more than enough hardware to ensure smooth operation of demanding tasks.
I max out 32, so I'd say so if you want to be comfortable.
That's gotta be piss poor optimization on ED's part. I can't think of any reason that should be THAT demanding.
Alright buddy who's never written a lick of game code in their life.
There is precisely a reason why it should be that demanding -> inside that station is nothing like optimizing for a cockpit from a planes perspective. You're up close to many planes, and because of the "medium" distance you are to them, you still need full detail but unlike being in another plane, you have full view of all other planes, and a large part of the carrier itself and all of the people on deck.
And I wonder why people like you have such short AF memory. Just about a year ago mulithreading was released for DCS and on average people saw a full on 40% increase because just about everyone has at least 4-6 cores, with some seeing up to 80% performance increase -- those with powerful GPUs and 8-16 core systems (double the threads). No other games even come CLOSE to utilizing that many cores effectively. Even when compare to photo and video editors rendering, or compiling a large Rust project, DCS exploits my system's most valuable resources and puts them to work. With DCS, I see somewhere betweenn 30-40% CPU usage on a 5950x (that's 16 cores, 32 threads), and 95-98% GPU. The average game looks like 4-5% CPU, and 95-98%% GPU. The only reason why some flash higher is when they're compiling shaders. But I get it, this year it's been fun to hate on ED, so people put their stupid hats on.
@@EbonySeraphim So why are external views not so demanding? You see everything too when you focus camera on the carrier and zoom in
@@EbonySeraphim Why are you so damn rude? Whats your problem? Go take a cold shower or something.
@@danieldorn9989 what do external views lack? From an external view, if you move the PoV into a cockpit, do you see the same cockpit as the full fidelity module? If you push into one do all of the switch positions, textures, avionics, and gauges are reading correctly? Absolutely not. That rendering is left to actually being in the cockpit view and renders that stuff in a highly optimized, and dynamic way different from the generalized, outside DCS world, along with massive frustrum culling of the outside world because the airframe itself occludes so much of the outside world from the pilot’s view.
As you say, external views don’t have the culling, but they also don’t have the cockpit to worry about. It’s a basic LOD issue, and the rendering pipeline never has to switch up to render the cockpit from external views - an efficiency increase when you can render more objects using the same rendering pipeline configuration.
Super carrier is effectively a cockpit, but as much larger one at that, with far more complex (at least radically different) culling needed. It’s a room, but those aren’t static textures. It actually reflects the state of the carrier deck so it’s dynamically generated. I’m not saying it can’t or won’t get better and more optimized, but it’s absolutely “something different” for the graphics team to deal with and it just released.
I’m not trying to use fancy words, frustrum culling / occlusion culling is just removing geometry that can be determined is absolutely not in view in any part.
@@EbonySeraphim As it turns out it's bad optimization. I found a workaround that gets rid of all the stutters. I will post another video soon.
Can you add your system specs to the description? 😅

Multithreading fail of doom
When I use it I just get out into free cam in the spot what carrier does this use?
@@SCP_Site_638 you are probably using ST exe. Apparently you need to switch to MT, otherwise it will not work.
@@damsonn how do I do that?
@@SCP_Site_638 In your DCS World folder you have a bin folder in which your ST executable is located (DCS.exe), and in bin-mt you have your MT executable located (also DCS.exe). Just run the game from the DCS.exe located in the bin-mt folder.
@@damsonn what carriers allow it bc I’m useing the newest one and it’s just shoing the intirial model and not the screens in yours
Cant get the Right Alt keybind to work to control the lights and course 🙄
left ALT - C
I used RALT + F9 and it just put me into the framework of the deck, like I had fallen through the walls and floor. Anyone else having that issue?
When I disabled the new launcher I have encountered this issue. Maybe it's related?
@@damsonn So, I have discovered that the graphics using the bin_mt have been updated, but that is extremely laggy and locks my computer as it did before the update. If I use the single thread version, the game runs great, but the graphics have all kinds of strange things happening. Mirrors don't and smoke effects have big squares in them. It looks like the textures for the single thread folder have not been updated or something.
Not to leech off your troubleshooting but if you find a fix for this let me know, I'm the only one in my squadron so far that has this exact same issue as you and I can't for the life of me figure it out
@@BlackjackTheLad After doing some reading, I decided to disable CPU Hyper-Threading in my BIOS and I am now using the executable in bin-mt. Works great now and all of the graphic clitches are gone. I am finally getting the performance I should have been getting with the Multi-Threading executable. Hope that helps.
how do u access the station
I used RALT + F9 and it just put me into the framework of the deck, like I had fallen through the walls and floor.
how do you get to click things?
Alt-C
Just disable new launcher, and you'll get rid of stutters
@@Mailman_NOB I don't see how that's related but it's worth a try I guess. Already tried ST and MT executables, makes no difference.
heh this worked, but maybe because the AirBoss station is not loaded at all now, lol
What're your PC specs?
The CPU is quite dated - i5 6600K, 16GB RAM, RTX4060, NVMe drive, the game runs pretty good overall (I'm getting around 60 FPS in crowded areas and >140 in simpler scenes), but when I enter the airboss view the FPS plummets and stutterfest begins
@@damsonn >i5 6600K
ouch
Ouilleee a I5 6600k 😳😳with a RTX 4060😢
It’s specs just run Windows and play #Beatsaber in vr 👍🏻
For DCS in 2024
I7 10700k minimum or the excellent Amd 5800X3D or 7800X3D /32 or 64go ram ddr5-5200mhz
RTX 4070TI minimum for flat pc.
In vr a RTX 4080 or RTX 4090 with a Pimax Crystal in DCS WOLRD .
Aplushhss 😇🇫🇷👍🏻
@@MrLolof1 I'm not using VR. Also the game runs fine otherwise, I only have issues when switching to AirBoss station.
This patch is even more laggy than the last. I wish they would hit the brakes on the "new" content and make it run half way decent!!!
I have been playing DCS since 2008 and Loc On before that and it has always been a buggy piece of shit! WYSIWYG
@@cayenne7792 I'm sorry, I was just venting and being a little bitch.
HOW DO YOU DO THAT
What are the specs of your PC? We need context.
Added my specs to the video description.
@damsonn 16gb of ram is too low. You need a minimum of 32gb and ideally 64gb. The CPU is not doing you any favours either.
@@calvinmulraine736 Already fixed it. I'll post a link to a new video in pinned comment with the results.
You need at least 32 Ram and stutters be gone.
Nope, already fixed it. I'll post a link to a new video in pinned comment with the results.
Upgrade your ram and that will be reduce if not gone altogether.
Your gpu is great and more than enough for dcs, but your cpu is pretty obselete and not very good by todays standards, ram is not enough either. Not trying to be negative just pointing out, im in the same boat :)
@@frogdog8194 I know. The CPU is the best one I can put in the socket, otherwise I would have to change my MB too. I guess I will have to cope with what I have for now.
@@damsonn what's ur ddr-ram frequency? ur cpu is the biggest problem imo.
ur single core speed is way to less at 3,9ghz, especially cuz ur cpu have no hyper-threading support. why u bought an intel xxxxK cpu and let him run at stock speed? its an overclocking cpu. u should boost it up to 4,4ghz - 4-6ghz. each intel K-version handles 4,4ghz at least w/o errors. but i think the biggest problem is the non existing hyper-threading support. ure missing 4 threads.
my friend runs the game with my old i7-6700K (with HT) cpu @4,6ghz oc + 16gb ram DDR4-3000 (xmp) and hes using just a rtx 2070. the game runs smooth as shit. dcs has a recommended cpu spec of 4.5Ghz+ with 8+ cores. its not fault of the game.
Sorry brother, but your PC is outdated. You can even say that you get 60fps at times, but if you want to have a complete experience, you need to improve it.
Nope, it's the game's fault, here's a result of a workaround that fixes the stutters for me:
ruclips.net/video/wLkxJN3QZeI/видео.htmlsi=izekFonjkiTZOM5S
@@damsonn I saw it and I'm glad I found a solution for you. But it doesn't change the fact that your PC is outdated for what DCS currently requires. I had the same problem until I changed my setup. You must accept this and improve your processor and at least put 32gb of ram.
@@cesarfilho0803 What are you on bro, when did you "found a solurion" for me? Your solution is to improve my PC, which is bonkers since the game runs just fine after applying the workaround I have described in the video I linked in my previous reply. I have over 60 fps in game (hitting over 140 FPS at times) without any stutters, so why would I need to "improve" my PC?
@@damsonn My bad. I wanted to say that I'm glad YOU found a solution.
@@cesarfilho0803 ah ok, so it got lost in translation. No problem.
Try upgrading your RAM at least 32gb.

You need more RAM
Nope, already fixed it. I'll post a link to a new video in pinned comment with the results.
That PC is a bit of a potato to be fair
I can run the game just fine in every other instance, with 60+ FPS most of the time (it often maxes out when nothing serious is happening).
